The staff are friendly and take great care of my mum. I don't live near the home so the staff always make sure I get a video call from my mum once a week. Mum feels safe and looked after in the home and her family are happy that she is able to enjoy her remaining years.
Reply from Eve Moran, Home Manager at Seacroft GrangeThank you so much for taking the time to leave a lovely review. I will make sure the team see this, it's lovely to hear that the family are happy too.

My ma is slipping deeply into her dementia. We are working together with the home to ensure she is safe and as independent as she can be. She tends to clutter her room up, so we've together removed some items. She is now under DOL which is great, as I know she's safe. The staff are excellent, patient-centred,
and genuinely care about the residents

My mum became a resident a few months ago and is very happy at Seacroft Grange. The staff are truly exceptional, providing an outstanding level of care. Nothing is too much trouble. Mum’s room is cosy, inviting, comfortable and clean, just like the rest of the surroundings. It’s a bonus to have a comfortable
electric armchair in her room, which means she can elevate her legs.
My mum feels secure, valued, and respected.
My family and I are always made to feel very welcome whenever we visit.

My 92-year-old father has never looked better and he’s never felt more comfortable and cared for. Care workers, including kitchen staff and reception are just brilliant. Everyone is so friendly, helpful and approachable. The most important thing about the staff on the Wilson unit is that they care and
that gives me and families peace of mind. I have never had any issues concerning my father’s care and would highly recommend Seacroft Grange Care Home.

A married couple moved into The Grange Care Village in urgent circumstances, moving from North Yorkshire to be closer to their special needs daughter. The care and support for their daughter offered by the home has been excellent, kind and warm. Sadly the wife died leaving her husband who was sensitively
moved to a less secure part of the home. Attention to well-being is exceptional with activities provided during the day, 7 days a week with priority given to encourage residents to socialise together whilst allowing them to develop new skills. Their spiritual care is also catered for with visits to the local church weekly. I would have no hesitation in recommending The Grange Care Village.
Reply from Eve Moran, Home Manager at Seacroft GrangeThank you so much for your lovely review and for your recommendation. We are delighted to hear that you are pleased with the person-centred approach we have at Seacroft Grange. Our activities are all personalised to meet our resident's needs and make sure they are living happy and fulfilled lives.

Throughout the time my husband has been resident in Seacroft Grange the care he has received has been excellent. He took a while to settle and accept that this was now to be his home but with patient care and understanding he is now at ease. He is grateful for his care and has a good, friendly relationship
with all of the girls.
Apart from some confusion over personal items being misplaced despite everything being named and some items put in his room which were not his we have had no issues at all. As a visitor I always receive a warm welcome and people mostly are readily available for a chat and an update. Thank you for your care.

Once again, I had a cracking week at the Grange. From the wonderful manager to the fantastic receptionist, they all welcome me into their 'family' at the Grange. They put up with my shenanigans and my cheekiness. The great well-being team help make the days go with fun and laughter. Thank you all for
a great week.

Such a warm welcoming home. Every time we arrive, the staff at the desk always know us; they greet us with a smile and always mention how my mum has been. You really get a feeling that they know her; she's not just a number.
The carers and nurses are always upbeat and cheery. They are happy to chat
and discuss how Mum has been and ask if we have any concerns. The place is filled with laughter and familiarity.
We tried a different home before finding Seacroft, and we felt the staff didn't want to get to know the residents and certainly wouldn't speak to us about Mum.
Seacroft Grange is a wonderful care home, and we are so glad our mum is there.

My mum has been in Seacroft Grange since February.
Mum loves it there, and all the staff go above and beyond - nothing is too much trouble, and they are so friendly.
My dad's so happy when he visits Mum; she is always clean and tidy and so happy.
Thank you so much - we really are so happy with

My mum spent just short of eight weeks on a hospital ward with complications relating to a sudden UTI. During her stay, she was largely bed-bound and lost her mobility and independence. She moved to Seacroft Grange to rehabilitate for a few weeks. Her room is beautiful, as are the communal areas. The
staff are exceptional, professional, caring, kind and personable. She loves the food, and the activities are fabulous. She has made many friends, they support her, and the progress she has made is great!

My husband moved to Seacroft Grange in March this year. Unfortunately, he is still not settled. The carers are wonderful, patient and kind. The food is reasonable, and my husband has no complaints. The carers struggle fir to shortages of staff but still manage to put residents at ease and well cared
for.

Our experince with Seacroft Grange overall has been a very good one. Any issues have been dealt with in a professional manner. The staff are extremely efficient, caring, compassionate, kind and very approachable. Lots of interaction between staff and residents also. The home appears to be well led and

This review covers an extended period of care for my wife, from before the Covid pandemic to the present. In that time, her needs have progressively increased, and this has been managed sensitively and effectively. The staff in the community caring for her are uniformly kind, thoughtful and respectful.
The management team are available and approachable. The well-being team are imaginative and caring. Everyone is quick to recognise visitors and know them by name. (I have been visiting long enough and frequently enough for that to be expected but I remember being impressed by it initially, and I often notice around the building that others are welcomed with just as much warmth).
In short, I go home after my visits comfortable with the thought that my wife will be safe and cared for.

My relative is difficult, and we have struggled since taking responsibility in 2016 for managing his affairs. Eventually, at Seacroft Grange, we found people willing to give him the 24-hour care he has needed for a very long time, and have not been disappointed. They are patient and can see past his
difficult behaviour to understand the warm and emotional person underneath. They are easy to deal with, and we are working together to give him the best life we can. Please accept our gratitude.

There has never been an occasion when the staff have not been wonderful to my dad, who lives at the home. The manager keeps me informed of all decisions and care needed for him. They always make me feel really welcome, and there are always activities going on. The home, the room and communal areas are
clean and smell great. My dad's room is clean at all times and spacious.
When you love someone with dementia, all you want is for them to be treated with respect and kindness, everyone at Seacroft Grange demonstrates these very special skills.

As always, it's never easy to place your loved one in for respite and usually takes a few days for you to relax without worrying if they're ok! As soon as you arrive at Seacroft Grange, you feel as if it's a professional place. The receptionist knew my name and made the connection that I was dropping
Mum off. The whole place looks like there's been money spent on it, keeping it up to date and looks clean. The first member of staff came down to greet Mum put her at ease. The next was part of the well-being team, she walked Mum to her room, and I said I'd be back in a few days to pick her up. The next few days there was follow up calls from the well-being team, who put Mum on the phone to talk to me and tell me what she'd been up to. I had a word with them myself, and they put my mind at rest that Mum was fitting in. I would write a lot more, but I'm running out of space; it truly is a lovely place!

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.679)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.679) out of 10 for Seacroft Grange is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 22 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.704 for Seacroft Grange is calculated as follows: ( (200 Excellents x 5) + (34 Goods x 4) + (16 Satisfactorys x 3) + (3 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 253 Ratings = 4.704
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.975 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Seacroft Grange is based on 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.975
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 95 registered maximum number of service users is 19, which has been reached with 19 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
