My husband is cared for with dignity and respect by all the staff. His family visit at various times of the day and are always made to feel welcome.

The home is bright, clean and a nice environment. Facilities are modern and good. The food appears to be plentiful, varied and good quality. The staff are not over friendly and cannot always be relied on to carry out our wishes and need repeated prompting. Although generally kept clean the room can be left untidy. Communication not always good with carers. That said a safe and caring environment for my mum.

Very well organised, caring, clean, pleasant and very loving. My mum is settled and so much better than she was 5 years ago. People are concerned and look after the residents exceptionally under very hard circumstances and they are very trustworthy.

My father has been treated with the utmost care, dignity and attention at all times. When asked, my father says he loves it there and all the staff are lovely he even dances with them when they play Frank Sinatra or Glen Miller. It is so sad to see what he has now become with such a cruel disease a frail old gentleman, however, he is in the best place, he is well cared for has a lovely room and enjoys the best of food. The nurses all say he is a cheeky chappie and they look after him extremely well. I cannot think of a better place in which he should spend his final days.

Highly recommend Seacroft Grange for the loving care provided for Dad. We were all welcomed from day 1 and felt like it was 1 big family. The carers are always polite and friendly and could not do enough for Dad and for us. We know he has been well looked after and would recommend to anyone looking for a home.

I've ticked likely, but I need to point out some negatives:- Communication between night and day staff could improve - night staff are agency staff who Mum doesn't understand and movement of staff between wings causes care issues on their return to York wing.
Continuity is key to residents and their families forming good relationships with staff and residents feeling comfortable regarding their intimate needs. There have been some mix ups regarding Mum's medication, I now always check it. However, there are members of the day staff who are excellent doing a very difficult job.
Mum thinks the food is generally ok, but she tells me there isn't much variation on the menu.
Value for money... I was upset that mum had a 10-day hospital stay due to a negligence incident, and we had no offer of a refund of fees or a reduction. Also, a 12.5% increase in fees after only 6 months in residence is excessive.

Generally, it is clean, new, modern with great facilities and activities, but improvements are required regarding the staff working rota to improve continuity.

Thank you for your comprehensive feedback. I have passed your comments on to the team. There has been a lot of change in recent months and the ultimate objective, naturally, is to provide the highest possible quality of care. The team have been working really hard on this and it is unfortunate...

Overall Experience

My wife has been at Seacroft Grange Care Home since it opened. I am quite pleased with the care staff although the last 12 months has been a bit of a letdown, owing to the opening of the new part (The Green). The staff that myself and my wife got on well with have been moved over to the new part, which has left a staff shortage and some of the care staff are agency workers most of the time and it's been difficult to find anyone to talk to. The staff themselves are polite and helpful, my wife seems content which means a lot to me and my family.

I am highly satisfied with the care in all departments. The nursing and medical care, personal hygiene, activities and catering. I have found all staff very pleasant and helpful in all ways. Choice of menu is very good. I feel my son has benefitted since being at Seacroft Grange as he gets out quite a lot.

The social activities are most adequate. I would highly recommend Seacroft Grange.

The staff are very friendly and down to earth.
Some items of clothing have gone missing. No Wi-Fi in room.
Important to let residents know what services are charged for extra otherwise it feels like money being teased out of them.

Overall good experience.

Eve Moran
Eve MoranJob Title:Home Manager

The most important part of my role as manager is to be honest, flexible and responsive to people’s needs. Being kind and caring is also essential, residents and their families should always be able to trust us.

I am always so proud to see the positive impact we have in supporting residents. We are a large home, and it feels great to be able to offer innovative care and combat some of the stigma surrounding care provision.

I have 16 years of experience and am a registered mental health nurse. I also have a level five qualification in leadership and management. I first started as a clinical lead so becoming manager has been a career highlight.

I am equally busy outside of work and spend as much time as I can with my partner and little boy. I am very close to my mum too. I also can’t forget to mention Alan, our dog, who we love to walk.
