I would like to thank all the staff of Meadow Rose Nursing Home for looking after and caring for my mom. The activities that they do from visiting kittens and guinea pigs etc to making cakes and Christmas cards, all part of their well-being. I wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy new year, let’s hope 2021 is a better year for all of us. Thank you.
The manager and the staff were always approachable, cheerful, professional and caring and a great support, especially to my mum, over the 6 years. We have nothing but praise and admiration for the home and all the staff.
My mom sadly passed away on the night of the 7th of October, she went peacefully. Can I say that the staff the management went out of their way to make her last hours comfortable. They are so professional in what they do at the home.
If you're reading my review and you need a family member or friend into this care home for care do not hesitate to contact them.
Please keep up the great work and keep safe.
However, we are over 12-weeks later, and he is doing absolutely amazing! We, as a family, believe this is down to the care and staff at Meadow Rose!
The manager and all the other staff cannot do enough for both us and him. Nothing is too difficult for them. The improvements he has made is astounding, he is able to sit up, eat proper meals and not just pureed food, feed himself. They do jigsaws, play cards, paint, dance etc with him.
During COVID, they have really made an effort to continue some sort of normality. They have enabled regular Facetime, in constant contact via text, and have even had a purpose-built "pod" built to allow for visits in the safest on manners.
I cannot thank you all enough, and I couldn't recommend this home enough!
Thanks so much for your feedback. We are delighted that your grandad has made fantastic progress at Meadow Rose.
My dad was so scared, as I, was about him going into a care home, but we needn't have worried. The home is led by a wonderful and kind manager who goes over and above to make sure all the residents are well cared for, but also happy! They go out of their way to include you and always updating me on how Dad is doing. All of his team appear to genuinely care, and most of all, Dad is happy and settled in these scary times. Couldn't be happier.
Thank you for your kind words and for sharing your positive experience with others about Meadow Rose. So glad that we made a difference to you and your dad at this difficult time.
As my cousin came into your nursing home under Covid-19, I have not been inside, but my cousin is very happy there and gets on well with the staff. She actually comes from the other side of town, so it was a bit of an upheaval for her, but I can honestly say she is very happy there and would very much like to stay there permanently.
My mother was admitted to Meadow Rose following discharge from hospital and stayed there until her peaceful death at the age of 101 in February 2020. Patient, caring and compassionate staff nursed her back to health initially, responded to changes and then treated her sensitively at her end of life. There were some exceptional nursing, care and administrative staff who all contributed at different stages. In addition, they looked after me as I experienced different emotions and became true friends. I would particularly highlight the way we as a family were helped and supported in the 24 hours leading to my mother’s death.
Sue, thank you for your kind words. I am glad that we worked together with you in supporting your mum in her final stages of life. Your feedback is greatly appreciated. Steve.
My mother has been with the home for 18months or so. Any issues which there have been, have been managed quickly and effectively with good communication. I have regular updates either by phone or email from a nurse or manager. Any suggestions I have made have been agreed or at least discussed in a timely respectful manner.
Thanks, Louise, I am glad that we have such a wonderful partnership in looking after our most vulnerable citizens. Your feedback is highly appreciated.
The staff look after me well and the food is good.
The staff and team are lovely here, they work very hard. As an outsider, I think they need a few more staff so, while residents are being washed etc, there are enough staff to answer call buzzers more quickly.
The activities staff make a difference.
The food is ok but with different needs for different individuals, it isn’t always easy to get it right all the time.
It’s a hard decision to realise a relative needs this type of care and as it’s difficult to know until they’re resident how good the home is, it can be a bit hit and miss. With this in mind, the care home has a generally caring attitude and some staff are excellent. So good initial signs and hopefully this will continue.
All the above said there has to be a realisation that the care and communication have to be the responsibility of all involved, both relatives and care staff, so hopefully, the residents have the best care.
Thanks Steven for your feedback. We will continue to work towards achieving best outcomes for people in our care. Feel free to see me or any member of our team to discuss any aspects of care for your loved one. You are also welcome to join our quarterly meetings with relatives, ask any of our staff for details of planned dates of these meetings.
We are pleased with the attentiveness and friendliness of all staff that we, as family, encounter with at Meadow Rose.
I feel there is not enough staff as 2 people on the ground floor leaves residents waiting a very long time to be seen and being left in bed till 2 pm due to no staff is not good.
I myself am usually happy with the service but recently I feel standards have dropped.
Dear Michelle
I am very sorry to hear that you are not happy with the service provided to your grandparents. Please feel free to come and see me, I will be very happy to discuss your concerns in person.
Steve
They looked after her so well right to the end of her life.
Thank you Christine.
I am very well looked after. Good food - balanced diet.
My mum has been a resident at Meadow Rose for 3 years. The staff are caring and the whole home is very welcoming. There is a supportive friends group and a friendly atmosphere. There are lots of activities for residents to take part in and a very helpful manager.
Community spirit (staff, residents, visitors, relatives). Mom is happy and we are content that she is well cared for.
No complaints what so ever!
On the whole basic needs are adequate but could still be improved upon.

Meet the Team (5)

I joined Macc Care nearly two decades ago, and it has truly been a remarkable journey. Meadow Rose holds a very special place in my heart, as I have spent almost half of my career here. This home isn’t just a workplace for me, it feels like a second family.
What I love most about my job is that it’s all about people. Over the years, I’ve built so many meaningful connections, shared countless moments of laughter, and had the privilege of supporting individuals through some of the most important chapters of their lives. Being able to brighten someone’s day, offer comfort, or simply be there when they need you, that’s what makes this work so deeply fulfilling for me and for our whole team and for me.
If you’re looking for a home where your loved one will be welcomed with warmth, compassion, and genuine care, Meadow Rose is a place where they will be treated with dignity, kindness, and a true sense of belonging.

I am the proud mom of four sons, two grandsons and a newly arrived granddaughter.
I live in the local area, which has helped me build lasting, valuable links with the communities to enable me to complete my job role at Meadow Rose.

It all started in December 2014, when I got my bank staff contract in the Domestic Department.
Since then, I have worked continuously for Meadow Rose, taking every day as a new challenge and opportunity to prove myself and help my colleagues, to do my best for our residents.
Working at Meadow Rose, it has not always been easy, going through challenges and hard times (especially the Covid-19 period), but what I can say is that we all have been supported by our Home Manager, Senior Management, Director's Level, etc, when needed.
Meadow Rose is my second Home. I love being part of the Team, I enjoy every day at work, even when I'm extremely busy. I am proud of my colleagues, and together we are Team Meadow Rose.

I am the Customer Relations Manager at Meadow Rose Care Home with experience across the care sector and a personal understanding of how emotional and challenging finding the right care for a loved one can be. I'm passionate about supporting families with compassion, honesty, and reassurance every step of the way.
Outside of work, I’m kept busy by my five children and our dog, who certainly take up most of my spare time. When I do get the chance to relax, I enjoy paddleboarding and spending time on the Isle of Wight.

As a valued member of the Meadow Rose team for 8 years, Sophie has undergone a remarkable journey of growth and development. Her career progression from care assistant to senior care assistant, and ultimately to lead activities coordinator, is a shining example of her dedication and passion for her work. Sophie's academic achievements, including completing her NVQ level 3 in health and social care, further demonstrate her commitment to excellence.
In her personal time, Sophie cherishes moments spent with her family, whether that's browsing car boot sales or attending craft fairs. Her favourite culinary delights include Chinese cuisine and spaghetti bowls.
