Dad was only in Osborne House for a short time, unfortunately. During the time he was there, all members of staff were friendly, professional, polite, caring and dedicated. I was so happy Dad was in such safe and caring hands during his last few weeks of life; they really went over and above the mark
to make us and Dad feel welcome.
We are so grateful to have found you. I would thoroughly recommend Osborne House to anyone.

We wanted to say how much we appreciate the care which everyone gave to our Aunt during the time she was at Osborne House.
Every member of the team was so friendly and welcoming and showed such care and compassion. From our first visit we could see how your residents and their comfort were so important
to you.
It is a shame that our Aunt was not in better health as we are sure that she would have been very happy there.
Our Aunt was not with you for very long but staff had already built a bond with her and us. We would like to especially mention one of the nurses who made sure that we were kept informed of her situation and showed a genuine closeness. It was evident that each resident has a place in your hearts.
Thank you for making her last days safe and comfortable and her passing dignified and peaceful.

Our mother jointed the residents of Osborne House approximately 18 months ago, during the difficult time of Covid 19. Both my brother and myself have nothing but praise for the Osborne House.
First and foremost, mum is happy and due to the constant care and stimulation she is given her concentration
and memory have improved despite dementia.
The staff at Osborne House are professional, courteous, caring and cheerful. They receive family members warmly and have good communication skills, as a Registered Nurse myself I have great respect for them all. There are also regular newsletters which have been much appreciated during lockdown, including photos of the residents taking part in various activities.
The home is tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. The main residents' lounge overlooks the River Severn. The meals are always well presented with attention to any dietary needs.

I cannot speak highly enough about Osborne House and the staff who care for my elderly aunt.
From the management, the care team through to the catering, housekeeping and reception staff I have found them to be friendly, cheerful and caring not only towards our loved one but to the whole family, you
always feel welcomed when visiting.
Throughout these past two dreadful years Osborne House have gone above and beyond to keep the residents safe and kept the families informed. Facilitating contact through different means in order for the families to keep in touch, all the while keeping the safety of residents and staff uppermost in mind.
The Osborne House family social media page has been invaluable during restricted access.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Osborne House to others whose loved one needs a loving, caring environment, a home from home.

My mother has been at Osborne House since March 2020.
They have exceeded in every way to make sure mum feels safe and is happy every day.
Their care for the most important person in my life is amazing and it’s so nice to know mum is not only safe but enjoying life surrounded by friendly faces.

I cannot praise the staff at Osborne House enough, they are all superheroes to me. My mother has been a resident for two years and receives the most wonderful care, she is happy and well cared for and this means everything to me and my sisters. Osborne House is a happy home for the residents, the level
of care is excellent, we are kept informed and always updated even through the tough times of Covid restrictions. I could not wish for a better home for Mum.

The Great Team at Osborne House have done and are doing a wonderful job caring for my Mother. Mum has dementia and the team care for all her needs and are very patient and kind. Mum seems very happy there and enjoys herself participating in the various games they play and regularly joins in with the
sing songs.

Mum is very much loved and given plenty of affection in Osborne House. The staff are always cheerful and will update you whenever you ask. There are plenty of activities for all the residents to get involved with every day.
I feel reassured that Mum's care is adapted to her needs and is in a place
of safety with staff who treat her as an individual whilst giving her the support and affection she wishes to be given.
I am confident in their ability to care for her. She certainly seems to be at home there and can’t wait to get back if we go out for a few hours.

My wife has bow been a resident for four years and during that time I have found the dedicated staff always strive to carry out their duties in a professional and caring manner. Nothing is too much trouble whether it be by day or night. I have also eaten in the house a number of times, pre-pandemic
and found there to be a good selection well served and enjoyed by all.

Mum has been at Osborne House for 2 years now having arrived just before Covid! It's like a home from home with a real "family" feel may be in part due to its size (unlike some very large homes we viewed before Osborne). Mum has settled well and is far less anxious and confused and I'm sure she enjoys
the views from the conservatory. The care is excellent with really good communication when mums been poorly. During a few hospital admissions, Osborne helped with liaison so we could get her discharged quicker and back home where I know she feels safe.

My husband was so unwell. His final wish was not to pass at home. The hospice was full. No one could help. Until the manager stepped in. She was amazing. She helped me sort a private ambulance to get my husband to Osborne House. She organised for him to go in a lovely room with a view of the sea. She
not only did this but even drove to the doctors and chemist to get his medication ready for his final days. The care was incredible allowing us as a family to say goodbye together. They listened to all our wishes. They went above and beyond. They have even put a memory plaque in the memory garden so I can go and sit there.

I don’t know where to start really.
Whenever I visit this place I’m always overwhelmed by how loving and caring the staff are. Nothing is too much trouble, and they always make time for you, whether you’re a resident or a visitor.
I guess the staff are treated really well by the management. I’ve
never seen a carer looking miserable or stressed.
Maybe it is also because the staffing levels are more than adequate so the staff aren’t stretched to breaking point.
I am sure the residents have a more active social life than I do. There’s always something on offer, be it in the home or trips out. There are dances and guest singers to help keep people entertained and a vast array of other activities too.
There is always a room to go to if peace and quiet is needed but the staff are always vigilant and make a point of keeping an eye on everyone, no matter where they are.
Having seen about a dozen other places in the Bristol area, this is by far the best, in my opinion.
Keep up the good work.

Mum was admitted to Osborne House the week before Christmas after her previous care home felt that her Alzheimer's had worsened and that Mum now needed a specialist Dementia home.
All of the staff at Osborne House are fantastic and make it fun and entertaining for residents and go out of their way
to make everybody comfortable - nothing is too much trouble. At the same time, the necessary dignity and care are provided. The rooms are clean and functional and the pamper room is excellent, enabling residents to have their hair done, have manicures and see a chiropodist.
Visitors are greeted by friendly staff and are always made to feel welcome. The regular newsletters and updates on Facebook are a bonus and keep families briefed on what is happening - as Mum always forgets to tell me!
Everything considered I am relieved to have found Osborne House and to know that mum is having the best care at her time of life.
Thank you and well done to everybody at Osborne House.

I cannot thank Osborne House enough for how they have looked after my Mum following a very bad experience in another Care Home. The minute you walk through the door at Osborne House you will understand where I am coming from.

The staff, carers and management are way above anything we have encountered

before in previous care homes.

This place goes the extra mile when looking after my Mum, her smile is back and she is engaging in all the activities. I get a weekly email and photos letting me know how Mum is getting on!

My family and I are delighted to have found Osborne House, if you are reading this go and find out for yourself, you will not be disappointed.

On arrival you immediately recognise the security aspects of the home. On signing in we always receive a very warm welcome and are always provided with refreshments. The standard of care is excellent and the amazing staff are so very caring and compassionate, treating all the residents in a very dignified
way. They try exceedingly hard to stimulate and include everyone in activities, trips etc. We would (and do) fully recommend Osborne House.

Osborne House goes above and beyond to look after my dear Grandma - I am always welcomed in with a smile and an offer of a cup of tea. Grandma is always engaged in different activities when I arrive and is always smiling, with her nails painted, hair done, clean clothes on - looking well looked after
and happy.

Grandma is definitely living well with dementia and it is down to the consistent and specialist care that is provided by Osbourne House - my family and I are always impressed by the regular updates/photo’s via email - it is truly a blessing to see Grandma so happy.

Thank you Osbourne House, forever grateful for your care.

There is an atmosphere of calm and the residents are given as much freedom as possible to choose what they want to do. There are always staff on hand. I have seen even very poorly residents treated with care and patience despite what must be a very challenging job for the carers.
My wife and I visit
normally twice a week and my brother at least monthly. None of us has ever heard a carer raise their voice or treat a resident anything but with patience and kindness, responding caringly when continually pestered for the same thing. When we are there we are not announced to the staff so if there where ill-treatment I would expect to detect it on one of our visits.
Mum is happy and well cared for and I would not hesitate to recommend the home to anybody with a relative with dementia. I cannot comment on value for money because I don't have anything to compare it with. It is a lovely home in a lovely location and Mum is well care for - that to me is value enough.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.898)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.898) out of 10 for Osborne House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 18 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 18 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.948 for Osborne House is calculated as follows: ( (203 Excellents x 5) + (9 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 213 Ratings = 4.948
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.95 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Osborne House is based on 18 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.95
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 32 registered maximum number of service users is 6.4, which has been reached with 18 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
