Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My wife and I were very concerned and apprehensive when we left my father-in-law at the care home. This being a permanent move separating my mother and father-in-law, they had been together for 68 years. We had no need to worry, the very high standard of care and support from all staff has been amazing.
My father-in-law has settled extremely well. He is very happy and gets involved in most activities. Many thanks to all concerned!

Very good, excellent. My mum feels very happy and content here. I visit three times a week and I take her for a walk around the lovely gardens. The rooms are very clean and homely. The activities are good and she does try to engage with them but sometimes I am visiting so she misses out. Other than
that she really enjoys them.

This home is head and shoulders above our previous experiences of care homes. The staff are so friendly and kind.....my friend in the home also says this regularly. We were apprehensive when changing homes, but this is the best thing we could have done for our loved one. I would highly recommend!

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.876) out of 10 for Mildenhall Lodge is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 40 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 40 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.876 for Mildenhall Lodge is calculated as follows: ( (416 Excellents x 5) + (46 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 468 Ratings = 4.876
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Mildenhall Lodge is based on 40 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12, which has been reached with 40 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Home Manager

Hi, I’m Ed, the Home Manager at Mildenhall Lodge. I hold a Level 4 qualification in Leadership in Health and Social Care and will complete my Level 5 in February 2026. I have also completed the Future Home Manager course.

My previous role was Deputy Manager at Mildenhall Lodge. I decided to work at Care UK following a recommendation from a family member after the passing of a loved one, which led me to join Davers Court as a Care Assistant—and I’ve never left. I believe the key characteristics needed for my role are being patient, kind, caring, dedicated and passionate, leading by example, having strong coaching abilities, and being a real people person.

My favourite part of the working day is seeing residents enjoying their daily lives and making new memories with loved ones, colleagues and visitors, as well as watching my team grow and develop in their careers.

Outside of work, as an ex-professional dancer, I continue to enjoy dance, performance, teaching and makeup artistry, alongside gardening, reading and spending time with friends and family. My biggest career highlight to date has been working in a Care UK home that achieved an Outstanding rating in all five CQC domains.

What makes me most proud is seeing the whole home work together to ensure residents lead fulfilling lives and create new memories at Mildenhall Lodge. The most important part of my role is coaching and mentoring the entire team to deliver the very best care to our residents, relatives and visitors.
