The home's Memory Lane Community provides high-quality care and support for people living with dementia. My sister moved 200 miles to Sutton Grange. When we arrived, the staff all came together to welcome her and help unload cars of her belongings. The staff are very attentive and encouraging.
The management is very professional but also friendly and helpful.
This undoubtedly is the best care that she
could expect to receive and also a lovely room with a garden outlook.

Mum has greatly improved since going to Sutton Grange. Staff are very friendly and caring, and I am kept well informed of Mum's wellbeing. I visit mum regularly. She has been out on several outings and enjoys the activities provided.

My mother was in full-time care in Sutton Grange until her death in August. During her eighteen months of there, she was shown great care and love. She was treated as a human person with dignity and respect. The staff were always about and ready to help.
The management now in place were clear in their
philosophy of making it a home where residents felt they were at home. They succeeded in this with my mum and even though her illness made caring a difficult situation, she was happy there.
I always felt confident in the welfare my mum received across her time there. Staff were always friendly and supportive.
I always wanted my mum to return to Sutton Grange after her hospital stays. They worked closely with the medical services to ensure she received her medication promptly and in line with guidance.
I would recommend it as a care home which is striving to improve and build upon its good practice. I would have had no hesitation in placing my mum back there if it had been possible.

My mother has been a resident at Sutton Grange for just over 2 years. Whereas in the early days we were impressed by the care provided and atmosphere, we noticed changes during the latter part of last year that were not good. During the last 3 and a half months, however, with changes in staff and management,
things have improved greatly.

We were glad to get my mother into this home early in 2018 after our experience of good end-of-life care for my father. The facilities for residents and their friends and family are excellent with many different areas to sit and lovely grounds to enjoy in good weather. This adds to the quality of our
time together when visiting. Since May, changes in management, development of staffing structures and additional staff training are all having an impact on the atmosphere which seems happier and more purposeful. The staff try hard to offer a range of activities tailored to individuals' interests and needs and we have seen my mother improving as she has been able to participate more.

I was so glad that I was able to get my sick husband into Sutton Grange. He couldn't have had better care. Everyone was so kind and looked after the family as well. Nothing was too much for them.

He's walking better, eating better and his whole demeanour has greatly improved. He is still talking about it and his only complaint was that everyone went to bed too soon and there was no-one left to talk to! If that is all he can grumble about we can live with that.
I know that he has started a letter
to the home and we are currently getting some pictures of him when he was a Royal Marine to accompany the letter.

From my initial meeting with the manager to review mum for respite to mum spending a week with Sutton Grange, I was made to feel confident that my mum would be well looked after. It was the first time for mum going into respite care so was a little scary for us all. I would recommend Sutton Grange Grange

Today 9th March, the care has been especially good thanks to a certain senior carer here at Sutton Grange. She spent time with dad, gave him a wet shave and generally made him feel a lot better and well groomed. This is how it should always be - Thanks to good well-trained staff.

I have been a resident at this home since January 2015. During that time I have settled down, as well as can be expected and have been cared for in a sympathetic and professional manner. In general, the menu and food quality have been good and whilst I cannot say it is just like home, nevertheless I
do not think that under the circumstances I could not have chosen a better situation.


However, for some time, there is one area which has been causing me concern and that is in the position of general manager. Since my arrival, which is less than 2 years ago, we have had 2 so called permanent managers and at least 4 to 5 temporary ones, a situation I would suggest, that does not ensure the consistent and efficient running of the home. I am somewhat surprised therefore that a large and experienced company would allow this situation to develop, and in particular, at a home which has only recently been opened.


As a senior manager in industry for many years, I am well aware of the importance of having an experienced manager in charge, either of a department or a company. Particularly for the staff involved who require a stable and worry-free environment in which to work.
At a rough guess, I would suggest that over the past year at least 30% to 40% of the management work has been carried out by the present under management staff who, in my opinion, have coped with a difficult situation in an efficient manner, and who in my opinion, should be considered if a further vacancy arises here.


I must apologise for taking up your time with this "problem" but feel that for my own peace of mind, at least, it was important that one resident at this home should make you aware of his feelings in this matter.

I have been more than pleased with the dementia unit at Sutton Grange called "Blossom Walk". The care staff are very good. The facilities for entertaining residents not so good. There are men who would welcome "something to do" nuts, bolts, making things from playdoh etc. Many mornings all they do is
sit or walk around.

Hi, I'm Laura, and within my role at Sutton Grange, I ensure that all the resident's rooms and communal areas are clean and tidy and also replace towels and other items that need replacing. Other aspects of my role include spending time in the laundry ensuring all the resident's clothes are clean neat and tidy ready to go back to their rooms.

Hi, I'm Sue and my role is to adhere to the Sutton Grange ethics and ensure there is a good standard of care throughout the home. I also make sure all the residents are happy and I am always on hand should any of my residents need help or support.

Hi, I'm Nick, I am a Registered Mental Health Nurse here at Sutton Grange, I joined the team in 2022.


Before joining the team I worked in specialist mental health roles supporting those with learning difficulties and cognitive impairment for over 30 years. Working with our elderly generation is extremely rewarding and I only wish I'd done it sooner. Sutton Grange is a special place and I am proud to be part of the team - plus there is never a dull moment.


My Wife and I are lucky enough to share our home with our many dogs, horses and cats. They all keep me very busy, safe to say we are animal-mad!
