A welcoming and supportive care home. The staff are excellent. They work well in a team and appear to be valued by the management. It's a happy place.

We chose Thirlestaine House care home for my mother because it ticked all the boxes for her needs. We as a family were warmly welcomed on every visit and we enjoyed using the comfortable facilities. Mum needed lots of nursing especially in her last days. The nursing staff were wonderful, caring and thoughtful and carried out their duties very expertly, and after mum passed away she and her family were treated with dignity, by all the staff at the home. For this we are so grateful it helped mum and her family through a very difficult journey. Thank you to everyone.

Thank you for these kind words which will mean a great deal to the team when I share them. For us, supporting the family and friends of our residents, as well as caring for the resident themselves, is of equal importance. I'm very glad that we were able to provide you with comfort at such a difficult time. Wishing you the very best, Terri

My 93 year old mother needed respite care after a fall at Christmas before returning home to Devon. After research Thirlestaine seemed to offer all that was needed. Good inspection report, modern roomy building, modern, clean, friendly staff and quiet atmosphere. Everywhere fresh and bright with pictures and flowers. From initial meeting with manager, assessment at home, care for four weeks, good amenities for family visits, and sincere good wishes on leaving - we couldn't have wished for anything more or a more positive experience. Hopefully this has given mother a positive insight into residential care when the time comes.

Everything is very well managed but could do with a TV engineer on site.

Reply from Terri Berry, Client Services Manager at Thirlestaine Park Care Home

Dear John, thank you so much for your review of our home. The issues regarding your television were brought to my attention and I am very sorry for any inconvenience caused. There was a slight problem with that particular TV in respect of programming but this is now fully resolved. Best wishes, Terri

I received excellent care. The room and public lounges were very comfortable and beautifully furnished. The food was very good, with plenty of choice. Plenty of activities arranged, although I didn't join in all of them. Once a fortnight, a pub lunch was arranged - very good! I was in the care home for 7 weeks as my wife had surgery - she is my full time carer. This is the second time I have been in Thirlestaine and would be happy to go again should the need arise.
