Absolutely cannot fault the time my Grandad has spent at Abbey Wood Lodge. Whenever we visit or attend an event it's heartwarming to watch the carers with the residents and to see how genuine their relationships are. My Grandad is having a wonderful time at this care hotel, the daily pictures of him
speak for themselves! He was settled in brilliantly by staff in 2015 and is now a solid member of their family. So pleased we moved him the hundreds of miles to our hometown for him to enjoy this time in his life. Thank you Abbey Wood Lodge, with all of our love.

My 91 year old Mum has mild Alzheimer's and had 1 week respite care at Abbey Wood Lodge from 23 June . On returning home she was included in some of the activities and trips out. On Sunday 17 July Mum decided she wanted to return to 'Happywood' on a permanent basis. After discussion with her 5 daughters,
spread across the globe, New Zealand, Switzerland, south of England and 2 local daughters it was agreed that this would be a good and safe option for Mum. Unfortunately after the first week Mums mood changed, luckily because of the quick response by the staff an early UTI was diagnosed and antibiotics prescribed. As a family, though Mum's decision, a very difficult time, but Abbey Wood have been fantastic both with Mum and her 5 fussing daughters. Thank you so much for helping Mum keep her independence in a safe environment. Regular posting on Facebook of their fun times are a great help, especially to family who can't just pop in.

Abbey Wood Lodge care home is a typical caring home of the future the attitude of all the carers speaks volumes to their credit.
All resident have a full and active life which applies to residents that need extra care, they are first and foremost.
When my time comes this is where I want to be, what
more can I say.
The home welcomes people from other communities in order to include them in everything. Abbey Wood Lodge puts forward and activates which successfully is achieved by all members of management and staff.

Abbey wood lodge is a lovely home for people who are needing care, there are plenty of activities to keep them busy and the care staff are wonderful there are plenty of trips out for meals, boat trips, shopping trips and also entertainment in house.

Excellent care home with a very caring team and brilliant activity programme, and fantastic events which all the residents enjoy.
The gardens are lovely and the residents all take part in all the events and activities.

My mum has only just gone into care and much to my surprise has settled in well. At first she refused to come out of her room but with great patience from the staff she is now joining in a lot more and her personal hygiene has improved with encouragement from her care givers. I am very impressed with
all the staff and the home.

At Abbey Wood Lodge there is a really good atmosphere, as soon as you walk in the door. All the staff are helpful and informed. The residents are very well looked after and entertained with regular trips out with lots of mental input. I feel my mum is safe, well looked after and happy.

My mum has just stayed at Abbey Wood Lodge for her third visit since my dad died last year on respite weeks for me. I was very impressed with the way the staff are with the residents. My mum really enjoyed her stay there and it gives me so much peace of mind knowing she is looked after and she is happy.
Mum will be 90 years old in February but does not look it and is quite healthy for her age.
My mum is due for another week in September and is quite looking forward to it.

My close friend died here of a brain tumour and she had been here for over 12 months. Sadly my connection continues as my badminton partner of earlier days is here. I find conditions always bright and cheerful, staff extremely attentive and caring and lots of various activities. There are numerous outings
for meals or interests and I have witnessed things like Sinatra tributes where as many as possible gets up to dance. There has been a trip for afternoon tea and a ladies day breakfast. The only weakness as far as I can see is a very small garden- new outside facilities would be good.

My husband spent his first ever period of residential respite care (2 weeks) at Abbey Wood Lodge. He was admitted during a period of extremely agitated and difficult behaviour at home. He settled into care very quickly and seemingly easily and developed very positive relationships with the care staff.
Presumably as a result of this he seemed to be much calmer in himself each time. I visited and reports back from friends and family who visited echoed this. All in all, as positive an experience as I would possibly have hoped for.

My dad has just spent a week at Abbeywood Lodge (2nd visit). Could not fault the care given during his stay. Love the fact that the wonderful team do so much with the residents whether it's celebrating a birthday or going out for lunch. My dad seemed very happy and content to the point that he did not
want to go home. Would highly recommend Abbeywood Lodge - second to none. Well done to all the team.

My relatives, a husband and wife both 94, have been in residence at Abbey Wood Lodge for almost 12 months now. The care and attention they have received has been superb and in my opinion could not have been better. My cousin unfortunately became quite ill and after the hospital discharged her back to
Abbey Wood Lodge she was treated with great care and compassion until she passed away. The care received could not have been bettered. Since her passing her husband has been given excellent after care, he has been taken out to various venues and really pampered. This has been greatly appreciated by the resident and more so by his relatives. This has been a very caring home.
