My father has been here for 8 months and all of the staff have been very helpful. A very neat and clean care home - I have had no problems whatsoever with the standard of care my father has been receiving.

I worked at Abbey Wood Lodge for two weeks as my work placement for the Prince's Trust programme. Everyone at Abbey Wood strives to give the best care possible and keep the residents happy and active. Things like chair exercise classes, coffee mornings, birthday parties and dancing really keep the residents engaged and gives them something to so each day. I really enjoyed getting involved and would love to do so again.

This is care home no2 for my dad and we knew instantly it was the one for him. It's modern, clean and has more of a holiday/hotel feel about it. They look after my dad's needs perfectly and seem to genuinely love him. He is clean and peaceful and they let him wander around (at night) without any issues. They take him out like any normal family outing. He can be himself and we all love to visit. The staff events co-ordinator and management not only treat my dad like family but also us. I am so glad we found Abbey Wood Lodge I don't know what would have happened to dad otherwise.

Abbey Wood Lodge has been a Godsend for my mum and dad. When failing health meant that they could no longer stay in their own home, they were dreading the idea of a monotonous care environment. But rather than stifling their independence, Abbey Wood has given them a new lease of life. They now have a full and active social life in a warm and caring environment. They haven't looked so well for years thanks to all the pampering and stimulation the staff provide for them on a daily basis.
As a family, we were relieved to find a home which could meet both their needs. Everyone who visits them remarks on how lucky they are and how well cared for they seem. The beautiful purpose built environment adds to the sense of community among both residents and family and social activities encourage the family to visit and participate in outings and gatherings.

Abbey Wood really is a special place where residents, their families, and staff all work together to see that every resident lives life to the full.

All clients are treated with respect and dignity, and all residents are encouraged to participate in mutual interests ie; knit and natter, cheese and wine evenings, art, drawing and sewing.

There is a lovely sense of community and caring about Abbey Wood Lodge, and all the staff from the manager, care assistants to the cleaner are all involved with making all the residents feel at home.

I would recommend this home to anyone who would like to live here. My wife is happy and is well looked after. I have been going out with my wife to restaurants and other days out. I have been involved with this homes' events on the weekends and enjoy them but most important I feel that sense of security for my wife living at Abbey Wood Lodge. Thank you.

Abbey Wood is an excellent place and my father-in-law has settled really well into his new life there. The facilities are modern, clean and well designed. The staff are always very welcoming and obviously care with a passion about all of the residents. The activities and outings that are organised on a regular basis, cater for all interests and I know that my father-in-law enjoys taking part in all these various social events. He recently enjoyed a fantastic LFC themed 94th birthday party that the staff had organised and which made him feel very special. I would highly recommend this care home to anyone.

My Grandad has been in Abbey Wood for 7 months now and can confidently say that he is settled in brilliantly; the staff and other residents have been very welcoming and making life very comfortable for him. The variety and amount of activities and different trips is excellent and as my Grandad is a very sociable person I know he enjoys these very much. It is a fantastic care home.

This care home has amazing facilities and they are always including residents in all activities, events, and trips. I like how the residents are able to enjoy a social life and can all age well in a friendly atmosphere - somewhere they can call home. All families are involved in the home which I feel is so important so that them, along with the residents. They don't feel pushed out or isolated. Pictures on social media ie. Facebook and Twitter are a great way to show the local community what the care home is about, reducing the stigma and negativity towards care homes as well as reducing the stigma and negativity towards living with dementia.

Dad became resident at Abbey Wood earlier this year, I don't believe we could have chosen a better place for him to be. The building and facilities are modern, clean and well maintained but, more importantly, the staff care and are fantastic in the way that they look after and interact with the residents. Activities at the home and trips out are never ending .... my dad has a better social life than I do! Suffice to say that if I need somewhere to be in future years then I'll be telling my kids to book me into Abbey Wood.

Having viewed many care homes for my own mother and mother-in-law I have to say that Abbey Wood Lodge is of the highest standards that I have seen. My Aunt has recently moved here after we realised she couldn't live alone anymore and we are more than happy with the decision that we chose here.

The cleanliness of the home and beautifully furnished lounges and bedrooms are impeccable. The meals are prepared to what you would think of hotel standard and the friendly staff are very attentive. Activities at Abbey Wood Lodge are of such that there is always something being planned and there is wide variety of events to suit everyone. I would have no hesitation in recommending Abbey Wood Lodge to anyone.

My husband regularly comes into the home for respite, I have decided to also come into this beautiful home for a little holiday to recharge my batteries and with the possibility, if I make that important decision to live here, I would not have any worries coming to live here.

There is so much going on here either going to lovely restaurants, trips and great entertainment supported by a great care team. My friends visit me which means you never know we all could be living together in the future, watch this space. This home is very well run the owner of this care home should be very proud of himself for providing a very high standard of care and full adult social life in the community, more care homes like Abbey Wood Lodge would be very welcomed as we all are getting older.

A big thank you to all the staff at Abbey Wood Lodge for their dedication and expertise. After being diagnosed two years with Alzheimers dad lost his ability to draw sketch and paint which had been a great part of his life. Since becoming a resident and after we displayed some of his work in his room we were encouraged to bring his art materials so that the team could try to reconnect with this one lived pastime. Today dad has not only started to sketch he has also had several residents and staff sketching in an impromptu art group, this is truly fantastic news well done and thank you to everyone.

It was on March 25th 2015 when I arrived at Abbey Wood Lodge, about ten days after I had fractured my hip.

I wanted to move into a care home after my treatment in hospital was complete: and so here I am. I am treated with care and respect, nourished with good tasty food, enjoying the companionships of members in the same age group and care from members of a younger age group. Plenty of time to knit baby clothes for young families. What more could an octogenarian wish for?!
