With so many staff in a care home, it is very difficult to know them all. I know that some are not as friendly as others, so I must highlight and praise three particular members of staff.
The medical care and contact with the local GP practice is excellent. One staff member goes above and beyond in helping residents with their medical care - she is very friendly, a good listener and a dedicated professional.
I am happy that all these people are taking great care of all the residents.
Thank you so much for such a lovely review. We really do try to make the Lodge welcoming for our families as well as our residents. I will make sure the manager and the team know how happy you are.
Father's Day breakfast, myself and our daughter came to Abbey Wood Lodge - absolutely fabulous; everyone enjoyed their breakfast, so a massive thank you to the event manager and the chef for the wonderful food and activities.
Thank you for your feedback. I shall ensure Laura and the team know how much you enjoyed it, and look forward to seeing you at our next event.
My father has reviewed the best standard of care during his five years at Abbey Wood Lodge. The staff are always caring, responsive and meet his needs with dignity. He has formed an excellent relationship with them and always feels safe, secure and well looked after. He has always described the food provided very positively - get loves his food! He has been involved in many activities, including days out during his time at Abbey Wood Lodge. I and all member of my family are very pleased that we chose Abbey Wood Lodge for Dad.
Thank you so much for your lovely comments; I’ll be sure to share them with the staff. We love having Dad at the Lodge; he is part of the family.
The Lodge is an excellent facility, the staff are brilliant in how they care and see to the needs of my father. There are a lot of different activities in the day for them to do. We always feel welcome when visiting and are so pleased and confident in the care he is getting. The food is of very high quality.
Thank you for your lovely review of our home. I will be sure to pass on to the care team how pleased you are with the care your father receives.
Throughout her time at Abbey Wood Lodge, my mother received excellent care. There were plenty of activities to keep occupied in an enjoyable way. The care she received towards the end of her life was full of compassion. She passed away very peacefully at the home on June 2nd having received the last rites in accordance with her wishes and faith.
Thank you so much for your words. Your mum will be very much missed.
We looked at quite a few homes in our local area and this home was by far the nicest. The staff are very welcoming and help with any questions we have. My dad has settled in really well and enjoys the company of other residents as he lived on his own for quite a few years. He loves all the activities and joins in the best he can. The care he receives in amazing is amazing. The home is very clean and the food is lovely, would highly recommend Abbey Wood Lodge.
Thank you so much for your lovely review, I will be sure to pass this onto the care staff.
My grandma is a resident here and she is so well looked after. Her room is very homely, they offer activities regularly and take the residents out into the community. The care staff are wonderful in taking care of my grandma and the home is always pristine clean. The manager is always on standby to help with absolutely anything and answer and queries. Would 100% recommend it to anyone looking to have their relative well looked after.
Thank you so much for your kind words it means so much to the staff and myself here at Abbey Wood Lodge. We are delighted with how well your grandma has settled in and enjoys the activities.
I went to visit my sister who has been a resident at Abbey Wood Lodge since just before Christmas. The care she receives is so excellent. The staff are all friendly and kind towards my sister and myself when I visit. They really are very professional, but with kindness, sensibility and genuine care, and also wonderful sense of humour. My sister is happy, well cared for, and has a fantastic social life with the care home. I think the manager and staff do a most worthwhile job and fully deserve the praise. It's like a five-star hotel!
Thank you so much for your kind words it’s been lovely how well your sister has settled into the home. She loves bingo and the activities in the community are a big hit.
Lovely staff, comfortable surroundings, good social activities like bingo. I would highly recommend this home to any relatives or friends.
Thank you so much for your kind review, means a lot to us at Abbeywood Lodge.
All are so friendly and professional and welcoming.
Thanks you for you review. It means so much to us as a team.
After looking at a few homes in the area we chose Abbey Wood as the facilities and the home in general were superior. The staff were so friendly and welcoming too, since my mum moved in the staff have done everything you could imagine to help her settle in at this difficult time. My mum wasn’t in great health when she arrived but within weeks she was looking and feeling better due to the very high standard of care given to her by the staff, by making sure the relative medical staff saw my mum. Which I couldn’t get when she lived at home. There’s always something going on in the home from bingo to children from local schools coming in to interact with the residents and special events like Mother’s bunch. I can’t thank the manager and her team enough for everything they have done over the months.
Thank you so much for your comments I will pass this review on to staff. We are very glad you're happy with the service we provided at Abbeywood Lodge and Mum has settled in like part of the family.
Came to visit our friend, the staff were very friendly. Nothing seems to be any trouble. Had lunch in the purple room, it was delicious. Afterwards, we went into the lounge and had a natter with our friend.
Thank you for your review this means so much to me and the care staff. We pride ourselves in delivering the highest standard of care to all our residents and families and friends.
Great atmosphere and the staff are always available and on hand to help with any questions. My friend is very settled since arriving at the home and has improved in health with the care and attention received.
Thank you so much for your lovely comment, this means a lot to myself and the care team.
We couldn't have found a better and lovely care home for my mum. It literally is now like her home, and she settled in no time at all. The staff are exceptionally caring. She has not looked so well and contented for many years. She loves the food, good, healthy, nourishing food and enjoys all the activities she takes part in. Abbey Wood is clean and warm, and the staff are so friendly and careful. Thank you for giving me my mum back.
Thank you so much for your review, Christine, I'll be sure to share it with the care team.
My husband and I visited our friend and were very impressed with the whole package she was receiving. She was very happy and contented. We had a lovely visit, hopefully, the first of many. I have needed to deal with a number of care homes over the years regarding family members. Abbey Wood Lodge surpasses every one of them, 100%. Fantastic. Well done.
Thank you so much for your lovely words, I will be sure to pass them on to the staff.
My mum recently passed away at Abbey Wood Lodge. I cannot praise too highly all the staff. The carers, the cleaners, clerical, catering etc. My mum was looked after with care and compassion. She was never alone. As for the family, Abbey Wood could not do enough for us. They were so sympathetic and kind. We were kept up to date with all care. The carers made sure that medical professionals were called for when needed. Thank you everyone at Abbey Wood.
Thank you so much Joan for your lovely words, it has been a pleasure to look after your mum and get to know you all. Take care and we are here if you need anything.
Amazing care. Mum looks years younger, can't praise them enough. Mum couldn't walk properly when she arrived and is now running. Speechless.
Thank you so much for your kind words. Mum is part of the Abbey Wood Lodge family.
What a lovely place! All the staff at Abbey Wood lodge are amazing. They are friendly, approachable and nothing is too much trouble. Both my parents live at Abbey Wood and even though they have very different needs the staff cater for both of them brilliantly. They are both well cared for and looked after, treated as individuals, and most importantly very happy. I have nothing but praise and would highly recommend Abbey Wood lodge to anyone. Thanks so much guys for everything you do for mum and dad.
Thank you so much for your lovely words, Lisa. I will pass your comments on to the staff. Mum and Dad are part of the AWL family.
My Mum has been a resident of Abbey Wood Lodge for the past 6 months. She settled in well very quickly and loves living there, she even calls the other residents her ‘other family’. The staff are amazing. They are friendly and approachable and have done an excellent job of settling my Mum in and also making us as a family, feel very happy with our choice of care home. We are kept up to date with any concerns and they are always available for any queries. The home itself is modern and purpose-built, very close to Ormskirk Town Centre, with a park on its doorstep, which is a bonus. It’s very clean and the facilities are excellent. The food is lovely. I would highly recommend Abbey Wood Lodge.
Thank you, I will be sure to pass your lovely words on to the staff. We pride ourselves here at Abbey Wood Lodge to make families feel settled just as much as our residents. So glad Mum is settled and happy.
Both my parents are at Abbey Wood Lodge and are extremely happy. The staff are so friendly, creating a real family feel, and are so caring. The staff go the extra mile to get to know mum and dad and make their stay enjoyable. It is very much appreciated. I would highly recommend the care home.
Thank you so much for your kind words, Sue. Mum and dad are a very big part of the Abbey Wood Lodge family. Am so glad they are happy.
