Chapel House Care & Nursing Home

This has been a very difficult year for all concerned; relatives, residents and staff. Within the limitations imposed on them it feels that Chapel House have done their best to maintain contact between relatives and residents.

5*; they have been brilliant through this pandemic. Communication and care have been excellent.

My mother has a very comfortable, well-equipped and spacious room with en-suite facilities. Every time I have visited, the rooms look clean and tidy. My mother's nurse has been very helpful and she is well cared for in this lovely home.

Been extremely happy with the care received in the last year with family visiting every day - before lockdown happened. As a family, we have no worries at all that my mother would continue to be well cared for, and this was a great worry lifted in these very difficult times. We could not thank the staff enough.

My husband spent 3 months in Chapel House and during this time, right up to his death, he was treated with dignity and love by all the staff who made his final months as comfortable for him as possible. Every member of staff is extremely friendly, caring, professional, with a feeling that nothing is too much trouble for the residents' wellbeing.

Contact by email or telephone was effective, accurate and helpful. It was easy to make any 'one-off' arrangements. No complaints, only grateful for the care and treatment they both received in their time at this 'home'.

I am lucky to not have to go into hospital for twenty years. I was very pleased and grateful for the care I received from everyone. I found all the staff nothing but excellent.

Her comment on leaving - It's a lovely place and I really like the staff. It's perfect for old people. She wasn't referring to herself though. Everyone made a huge effort and I am so grateful.

My mother was very happy and well looked after. Staff all kind and helpful. Only moved Mum to be closer to us.

I was referred by the hospital and stayed for 7 days. I enjoyed the rest and the warmth of all the staff at all levels. I had a broken my wrists and severe bruising. My room and bed were very comfortable. I did find the quality of main meals a little below par and I assume it is due to the general situation, that is outside admin control.

The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and peaceful and quiet. I cannot praise the home and its staff highly enough.

Thank you for making us so welcome and looking after my uncle and aunt so well. Lovely lunch and obviously a very caring home.

Satisfactory as respite care to get someone out of hospital asap.

Food was a bit limited, but my father in law was well looked after and got better.

My dad was transferred to Chapel House from hospital after a fall at home. After being discharged from the NHS care at Chapel House dad chose to stay as a private resident. Dad was very content to stay because of the excellent care he received from all the staff at the home. All the family were very happy with dad's care and the wonderful staff there.

The whole experience was great, respite care was needed and provided in abundance. Nothing too big or small to help with. All aspects of care were very good and staff very understanding and caring.

Although mum was only with you for the last 2 weeks of her life she was happy and we were so grateful for the care and attention given to her by the staff. The home is a lovely environment and the staff are friendly and always happy to help. Thank you for the care you gave to mum and us, the family. Highly recommended.

The food would have been greatly improved had it been served hot. I thought the choices, when I was given any, were mediocre, I missed being offered any fruit when confined to my room

Friendly and experienced staff towards dad. Always approachable and willing to answer any questions and make visitors welcome. Any concerns which are raised are dealt with promptly in a polite and friendly manner. We have noticed dad is far more engaged with carers and nurses. He recognises and has built a trust.

I find the care home caring and friendly. Always ready to help. Clean and tidy building and the room also. My dad is looked after very well. He is clean and well fed. The staff are caring to residents and to the family at all times.
