Milford Lodge

Milford Lodge is generally well managed and the staff are approachable and friendly. The home is always spotlessly clean and smells nice and fresh.

The food is satisfactory but the menu could be more varied and the overall quality could be improved.

This care home is well run, friendly and a pleasure to live in. The carers are all very kind and patient.

My father in law moved here 3 months ago and we cannot believe how well he has settled in. He is extremely happy. The staff are wonderful and he hasn't got a bad word to say about anyone or anything at the home. He gets involved in activities and goes on the planned trips. We could not be happier with how this home has transformed his life.

My dad arrived here very confused and disorientated. The staff have been amazing, he is quite grumpy at times but they always deal with him with care and compassion. The home is pretty and homely and the food is excellent and home cooked. Friends that have visited my dad with me have said it's not like a home, it's more like you are popping into actual person's house. I would definitely recommend Milford Lodge.

My mother went to Milford Lodge respite care until she permanently moved into the home last July 2015. Prior to being in Milford Lodge my mother was in sheltered housing with myself as her primary carer. She (my mother) suffers from severe anxiety and every day was an uphill struggle for both her and me. Being in Milford Lodge has removed this issue and life is so much better for her and me and my brother and sister. The staff understand mum and they look after her so well and everything is done with dignity, respect and humour. I cannot think of a better place for my mother at this point in her life.

It has been 2 months since I have seen my aunt (as I live in Australia). I cannot believe the changes in her, it is amazing and wodnerful! She is like her old self again. I have observed all staff to be caring, empathetic and attentive to all of the residents. The rooms and common rooms are spotless and the residents are obviously very well cared for.

My mother has been a resident at Milford Lodge for 3 months, prior to this she was lonely and lived alone. At the home her spirits have improved amazingly. She participates in the activities - seems something is going on most days (ie. activity wise - arranged by Milford Lodge) she is more wakeful. Her balance and mobility have improved a great deal. Thank you Milford Lodge! (ps. she is also eating better).

We felt that since arriving here you made her very welcome. We thought this stage of her life would be very difficult but it turned out to be a good experience.

I think the care and everything connected with the home is very, very good. I shall be very sorry to leave.

My mother lived at Milford Lodge for just over a year. She entered the home following the death of her husband of 64 years and living in the same house for 62 years. The staff supported her compassionately to deal with these dramatic changes and she had some very peaceful, content months. They were all skilled at caring for her parkinsons disease problems and needs. Her final month was centred around palliative care needs, fulfilling her wish to die at the home and not go into hospital. She was cared for with utmost dignity and compassion, with high standards of care and support for her family, and us as a family. As a family we cannot thank the team at Milford enough for their kindness.

The general friendliness and caring attitude of management & staff was a great comfort to my mother & our family. Great care was taken that the correct medication was given and there was a good link with the local doctors.

Excellent care home. Staff attentive, nice surroundings. Management very friendly and helpful. Lots of events throughout they year.
