Always find staff caring and helpful. Room is clean. Disappointed that my friend's teeth went missing and she is stressed without her front teeth. Should have been sorted by now.

My Dad was admitted to Beechwood Lodge in March 2020, just before lockdown. He was unable to weight bare, lives with Alzheimer’s and had therefore become unable to live independently. The Manager of Beechwood ensured that Dad transitioned painlessly into their care and he settled quickly into the Home.
Living in Scotland meant that I was unable to see him as often as I would’ve liked to due to the restrictions both north and south of the Border. When I eventually got to visit him, it was such a relief to see he was really happy - “just like a five-star hotel” he told me. I know and am grateful that he’s well looked after by professional, friendly and helpful staff. He’s always dressed smartly, shirt and tie, polished shoes - it was good to see that his personal standards have been kept up. He looked really content and well. I have no hesitation in recommending Beechwood Lodge to anyone looking for a caring environment for their family member to live in.

My wife has been in Beechwood Lodge since November 2020, she suffers from Parkinson's disease.
I have recently had a review of her condition and the care she is being given by our parkinson's nurse who visited her in the home.
She gave a glowing report of the care being given. That endorses my view
of the care being given.
The home has responded well to the restrictions imposed by COVID and now allows weekly face to face visits
The staff are very friendly and address any concerns I have quickly. The management are very approachable.

Both my parents lived at Beechwood Lodge up until my Father died a couple of years ago. My mother still lives there and is struggling with dementia. The staff, from the management down, have been great with my Mum and were with my Dad even at his most challenging times.
Mum is well looked after and
is always cheerful and happy despite the difficulties of lockdowns, which gives me some peace of mind living 300 miles away from her. The staff looked after her last year when she was diagnosed with cancer, taking her to all her appointments in various hospitals when I was unable to travel due to lockdowns.
We can also video chat whenever we want to which is very helpful.
Beechwood is a modern, clean and now, well-managed care home.

My mother has been in the care of Beechwood Lodge for nearly two and a half years now and she is very happy there. The team truly do care and do their utmost to ensure the residents feel cared for and at ease and communication with me on the whole is good.
Moving any family member into care is not
a easy decision for anyone but they helped make this easier for both us and mum. Out of all the homes we looked at prior to this this was by far the best of the lot. From the smaller units/sections meaning better overview through to the rooms all having their own bathrooms, this was key for my mother.
Covid of course threw in a whole new curve ball and stopped visits, but they worked well with me to ensure I could keep in touch with mum through video calls, later pod visits and now face to face. Though its been difficult as they had to stop outside entertainment and hairdresser etc. the team pulled together to do their best to keep residents entertained and looking smart.

My husband has been in the home since September 2020, he has advanced dementia and he can be quite challenging at times. The staff have all worked extremely hard to find the best solutions to his issues and he is very settled now. He always looks clean and tidy and is very well fed, he has never asked
to leave or shown any signs of distress with his care.
The home itself is very relaxed, although entry/exit is very tightly controlled. This gives me huge peace of mind as my husband is subject to a DoLS and cannot go out on his own, as he would be very much at risk of harm as he now has no concept of danger from traffic etc.
The staff, manager/receptionist/carers are all very caring and quickly got to know my husband and someone is always available to let me know how he is.
I am always kept informed of any incidents, such as falls, he tends to try to sit on inappropriate pieces of furniture, his health and welfare is regularly reviewed and action taken if needed.

My father has been in Beechwood Lodge for coming up to six years. The staff have been truly amazing and look after my dad like he is their own.
The manager has transformed the home since just before the pandemic and continues to do so.
My dad loves it here and they care so well.
I would recommend
anyone to look at Beechwood as a home for their loved ones to be safe, entertained and treated as family.

Our mum started living at Beechwood Lodge just over 18 months ago after a rapid illness and weight loss basically due to not looking after herself properly. When mum went into Beechwood she was just over 6 stone in weight, she now weighs 9.7 stones. The care and attention mum receives is wonderful.
Each and every member of staff are lovely and look after the residents with such a personal touch it’s as if it’s their own relatives. Mum has a fabulous relationship with them all, from the carers to the cleaners, laundry staff to the caterers and including the management. There are regular group activities and music and singing etc. A hairdresser has just been allowed back into the home after COVID prevented this for over a year which mum loves and until COVID was a weekly event, there’s even a salon in the home for the stylist. We take mum her weekly treats, but the food is certainly a good standard and all the residents are well catered for. I would not hesitate to recommend this for your loved ones.

My mum has lived at this care home for over six years. I have always been happy with the care she has received during this time. If there is ever any change in her care or condition I have been notified immediately. She generally has a positive approach to life and has always said that she "couldn't
be anywhere better".

My mum has lived at Beechwood for nearly five years and during that time I have been extremely pleased with the care she has received. She has been happy living there and I have always felt that the staff have looked after her well, with her vascular dementia well understood. The home is extremely clean
and the food is of a high standard. There is a feeling of ‘family’ within the home and a genuinely warm and caring ethos, which starts with the manager and runs throughout all her staff. As one would expect, my mum’s needs have changed during this time and more recently she has deteriorated further. However, the care she is receiving is keeping her comfortable and the staff display patience and compassion on a daily basis. I visit regularly and witness this. My family are so pleased that we chose Beechwood Lodge. The manager and all the staff are committed to providing the best of care for the residents who live there.

My mother went into Beachwood Lodge when I became ill last year. I needed help looking after her. Since she has lived at Beechwood Lodge she has been looked after to what I consider very high standards and it has made me realise how poor my own care was! The staff are like friends to her, but always
providing the care that is needed.

Her room is not only clean and comfortable but it is her own room. Not only is the room kept clean but the staff look after my mother and her belongings. Keeping everything tidy and as my mother likes.

If I ever need care I only hope that my family will find me a place like this.

My mother, who passed away suddenly on 23 December 2017, had been a resident from when Beechwood Lodge opened by a couple of months. As a family we couldn't have wished for a better home, from management downwards I have nothing but praise. She was always immaculately presented, clean, her room was
always fresh and clean and the staff were caring, friendly and always informing me of my mum's wellbeing. The food was second to none, wonderful. Activities were there whenever my mum wanted to do things, we knew that whenever we left she was being cared for to the best of their abilities. One had no worries at all. The staff were so friendly I felt that they were part of our family and I will remember them with great fondness.

The care home is usually clean and well presented. The staff are on the whole friendly and helpful. There seems to be a fairly good range of activities provided. The kitchen staff have been accommodating as far as my relative's special dietary requirements are concerned. The manager is not very responsive
to email queries concerning my relative.

My mum was the first resident to move into Beechwood Lodge in November 2014. I have always found the staff to be caring and supportive to both mum and myself. I am kept informed of any and all changes in my mum's condition and find the staff approachable. If I have a problem I take it to the senior
or manager and we work together to resolve it.

My very elderly mother-in-law has been resident since Nov 2015. With several medical problems and dementia and neglected by GP and other services in London she had deteriorated rapidly - almost unrecognisable! Staff at Beechwood Lodge got a firm grip on her medical, physical and emotional needs. She
looks 100% better than when she arrived; spotlessly clean, hair done, on a nutritious diet, calm and amenable. Rigorous management of medication has all her physical conditions under control. Mum is settled, happy and has made friends. We have a good relationship with staff; friendly, approachable and always try to make time to talk. I can't praise current manager and administrator enough for all their efforts in facilitating mum's move under extremely difficult circumstances and their help with all the complex issues that followed. Satisfied she is in the right place and confident her on-going care needs will be met. Above all, the kind and caring staff have made Beechwood a proper 'home' for her.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.656)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.656) out of 10 for Beechwood Lodge is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 18 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 18 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.706 for Beechwood Lodge is calculated as follows: ( (159 Excellents x 5) + (47 Goods x 4) + (8 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 214 Ratings = 4.706
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.95 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Beechwood Lodge is based on 18 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.95
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 66 registered maximum number of service users is 13.2, which has been reached with 18 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
