My dad has a lovely large room with a huge window through which he enjoys watching people come and go, situated in one of the dementia wings.
The care staff do a very good job under difficult circumstances, responding to various situations as the resident needs and mood dictate.
The receptionist is
always welcoming, friendly and helpful.
The activities team also do a wonderful job, involving every resident if they are agreeable in each activity according to their individual ability.

Having looked at many other homes I have found Magdalen Park to be top quality. The staff are very caring and the home and gardens are always in great shape. The most important consideration is the friendliness of everyone involved in the care of my father. I never get the feeling anyone is 'just doing
a job'. We are now looking forward to the summer when the gardens will be in full bloom.

Dad is very happy and well cared for there. The staff are just brilliant!! Very kind and caring. I am kept well informed of her welfare and any issues are very quickly passed to me. The staff treat him with the greatest of respect and they are always available to discuss any concerns I may have. There
is a really "feel good" atmosphere amongst all the staff and I love to visit here.

The care provided to both of my parents has been exceptional. For my mother with dementia, deafness and cannot see so well, the amount of work the team put in to make my mum comfortable and desire to keep her as mobile as possible is really good.

Mum has been a resident in the dementia care unit for 18 months. During this time her general health has deteriorated due to her complex medical conditions. The staff met the challenges of caring for a lady with no hearing, little sight and no mobility, superbly. The staff took time to accommodate her
complex needs when undertaking routine care tasks. I never worry about mum from day to day as I know the staff meet mums needs and care greatly about her quality of life. The management should be truly proud of their home and staff.

On entering Magdalen Park I am always greeted with a friendly smile at reception. I always find the receptionist, friendly, informative and ready to respond positively to any query or request. On the first floor the staff are well informed to deal with my friends needs and always respond to any requests

My father is in the dementia unit. The staff are kind and caring and interested in the residents and their welfare. Under the most challenging circumstances they do their best to make a family atmosphere in the unit and have endless patience to deal with the needs of the residents. The family are kept
informed and involved with all aspects of care given. The building itself is well set out and provides a welcoming environment for residents and visitors alike.

My mum went to Magdalen Park Nursing Home for respite but has been welcomed as a permanent resident as is unable to manage on her own at home. All staff without exception have been kind and attentive not only caring for my mum but also caring about her. Personal and necessary care are always carried
out to a high standard and the staff also spend time with my mum which I believe is important to her well being. The level of care provided greatly puts our families mind at rest. Thank you to you all.

Would just like to thank all the staff and Management at Magdalen for making my mams last few weeks special. She was very ill but very independent, and really didn't want to give that independence up!! so was very adamant she wasn't going to stay and it was only staying until she felt a bit better!
Well what can I say, because of such friendly staff and lovely surroundings she ended up loving it and everyone who worked there. She was in her element, especially when she got her motorized scooter! She was a very special lady and I am so pleased that she got to spend her final weeks in such a wonderful friendly environment.

Laura Davison

Job Title: Home Manager

I have worked in the care sector for over 20 years, with the last 11 spent here at Magdalen Park. During that time, I’ve been fortunate to take on a variety of leadership roles, and I was proud to become Home Manager. I hold a Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care and I’m passionate about ensuring residents receive the very best standards of care.


I believe strongly in Care UK’s ethos of delivering outstanding care. As a manager, I lead with clear values and focus on supporting my team to grow their skills and confidence. By empowering colleagues, I know we can create the best possible outcomes for residents.


My favourite part of the day is greeting residents and colleagues each morning, followed by regular walks around the home so I can chat to everyone. I’m proud of the strong relationships I have with residents, families, colleagues and the wider community, and I always aim to lead with compassion and understanding, especially in challenging times.


Outside of work, I enjoy family time, long walks with my dog, and staying fit. I am passionate about fitness and love challenging myself, especially when it helps raise money for charities.
