Fees are subject to a pre-admission needs assessment which is required to fully understand the level
of care and support required by each individual. Premium rooms normally require an additional charge.
Nursing fees include the Funded Nursing Contribution (FNC) if you are eligible. There are no additional fees
for respite stays.

other privately arranged healthcare. Should you require an escort to hospital appointments, we may apply
an agreed hourly charge for this service.

I have an aunt who resides at Cleves Place care home, Haverhill Suffolk, she has been there for a few years now, it is a wonderful place very clean and tidy, the staff are wonderful, always cheerful and friendly, and I have no worries or concerns.

Fantastic in every way. From management through to carers and utility staff, everyone is just so helpful and cheerful. The home is modern but homely for the residents. There are a wide range of activities to stimulate and entertain but the real emphasis is on care and all the staff are so wonderful.
I just cannot rate them highly enough. Above first-class with a smile.

I usually wear my FFP2 masks, I have covered them with an old flowery dress. They washed.
An NHS study found staff wearing FFP1, 2 and 3 provide the highest protection from Covid. I have been wearing these but had to wear the surgical masks when visiting my mother in Cleves Place Care Home. This is
where I contracted Covid.

A very good care home. Staff very friendly and good with the residents. They look after everybody very well. However, I do feel the food is not good and often the elderly residents are offered food which they don't know of, "ie fear to have bread" a main course for supper. Elderly people want good old
fashioned food. My relative is very happy indeed apart from the food. It's generally a happy place.

We understand the importance of making mealtimes enjoyable for residents and we take great care in our menu planning to offer a variety of food that meets everyone’s requirements. We hold regular catering meetings with the residents to discuss their preferences and encourage them to put forward suggestions that will improve their mealtime experience. Your mother has taken part in these meetings and just last week we ordered and prepared a particular meal that she had personally requested. Your feedback is important to us and the home manager has already discussed your comments with our head chef. She will meet with your mother on a one-to-one basis so that we can create a meal plan that she likes and enjoys.

Cannot thank the manager and her team enough for all their hard work under this pandemic. Being able to go in to see your relative now is ace, everything is well managed from testing temperature, to entrance, to PPE to the finish. The staff are all so welcoming it feels homely, always lovely and clean
and smells fresh. Mum always looks clean and tidy and is always happy. Her room is spotless. We are always kept informed as to what is happening not only in the home but with Mum too by telephone calls and emails, updating us on any changes to her care or needs. It is so lovely to receive a monthly news letter showing us what the residents have been doing, from cake baking to gardening and chair exercises. It makes us feel at ease knowing Mum is happy and well looked after and treated with respect.

As the daughter of a 92-year-old resident with dementia, I am particularly pleased with:
- the overall quality of care. Nothing is too much trouble. Staff are extremely friendly, work as a team and consistently demonstrate their commitment to the residents.
- quality of food; my father has to have
mashed food but his choices are respected and staff make every effort to make sure he still has a varied diet
- range of activities: my father has been actively and successfully encouraged to follow his interests. He is helping to grow plants and vegetables in the garden and his artwork has been displayed at the local Arts Centre.
- accessibility of managers, who are always ready to help.
The following improvements could be made:
- it should be considered as to whether it is appropriate for staff to smoke on-site, albeit in an outside area. Hospital staff seem to manage!
- My father is bladder incontinent and his room sometimes smells, particularly at weekends. This needs closer oversite.

We would like to reassure you that we continue to monitor your father’s incontinence with care, support and assistance whilst allowing him to maintain his independence. We have discussed this with housekeeping and the domestic team are going to be adding extra checks on your father’s room and more regular cleaning. We appreciate your feedback regarding staff smoking on-site, however, it is our policy to promote a healthy environment and place of work while understanding and appreciating that many people continue to enjoy smoking. Care UK’s policy allows people to smoke only within designated areas outside and forbids smoking close to building entrances and windows.

Very pleasant and well-run home with day care centre and internal daily activities for residents. Staff and management are truly amazing, they really care for the people they care for on a daily basis. This visit, I was here for my mothers 92nd birthday, which they helped her and us celebrate with cake,
balloons and presents. Good feeling knowing that this place looks after my mother so well, and always make us "the family" welcome on all visits.

My husband was in Cleves Place for 2 weeks respite. He was so well cared for. Nothing was too much for the carers who were looking after him. To help him settle he went to the day centre daily which is part of his routine at home. When he next needs respite I will definitely be sending him back to Cleves
Place as he was happy there.

Generally good, caring.

Been here a few times and the staff are always friendly and offer us help if needed. The maintenance man here is very friendly and goes out his way to help when needed, in such hot weather he has got us drinks to keep us hydrated. Lovely care home, always clean and tidy. Strongly recommend.

As with all residential care homes, the staff have to deal with all manner of complex resident conditions. Cleves Place staff manage to combine efficiency and great care really well. It helps that Cleves Place is a custom-built care home so offers easy navigation and great facilities.

My opinion of the home is that it is wonderful. We couldn't be more pleased that mum has her home here now. The staff are very caring, considerate and are fantastic around. It is so nice to know that mum is being so well looked after. I would not hesitate to recommend this home to anybody.

Cleves Place really cares. Every staff member we have met cares for and about the residents and their families. This is a testament to the training certainly, but much more to the culture and recruitment. The home is clean, well-maintained and very suited to care. The activities are varied and engaging
but without any undue pressure to involve any who might be reluctant. Call bells are answered promptly and with discretion and dignity. Simply put : mum is cared for - thank you.

My mother is receiving excellent care and the staff keep me up to date. Any issues are resolved and my mother now calls Cleves 'Home'.

The building is new so all very clean and pleasant staff all seem very friendly towards residents and visitors.
My mum seems to be well looked after something I could not do myself. Mum suffers from dementia and is 92 staff try to keep mum occupied and entertained which I know can be very testing at
times.
Overall we as a family are very happy our mums care. As with everything, there could be improvements but overall "All Good".
Thanks is not enough to the staff.

Both of my parents came to Cleves Place for two weeks respite care as things were rapidly becoming unmanageable at home. The day they arrived (I took them) they were made to feel so welcome and I felt a huge sense of relief for myself. They are now going to stay permanently at the home. I cannot express
enough how well they have settled due to the kindness and unbelievable attention and sensitivity shown by the staff in all areas.

Mother was in residence at another care home she moved to Cleeves House in March 2014, which was a new care home. Since she has lived there the complete staff from the manager to the latest member of staff have all been top class and not a thing seems too much trouble the catering is excellent in all
departments and anytime we call in the staff are always pleased to have us there.

It is a very good care home all staff are excellent. Very caring, sometimes overworked due to staff shortage. The food is excellent.

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2015

I joined Cleves Place in 2015 as I liked Care UK’s vision and values. The home has a great family atmosphere and we have a fantastic team here who work really well together to deliver the best care and experience for residents.


I love being able to make a difference in a resident’s life. If I can complete my shift knowing a resident has smiled and is happy I feel I have achieved my goal. I also enjoy empowering colleagues to do their best work.


I’ve been working in the care sector for over twenty years and I enjoy sharing my knowledge with new colleagues and watching them grow in confidence in their role.


I also like to keep learning and developing my own skills. One of my biggest professional challenges has been completing my Level 5 Diploma in Management. I’ve also had an article published in a palliative care publication.
