My mother is receiving excellent care and the staff keep me up to date. Any issues are resolved and my mother now calls Cleves 'Home'.

I think the above says it all, it's her home and she is very happy there.

The building is new so all very clean and pleasant staff all seem very friendly towards residents and visitors.
My mum seems to be well looked after something I could not do myself. Mum suffers from dementia and is 92 staff try to keep mum occupied and entertained which I know can be very testing at times.
Overall we as a family are very happy our mums care. As with everything, there could be improvements but overall "All Good".

Thanks is not enough to the staff.

Both of my parents came to Cleves Place for two weeks respite care as things were rapidly becoming unmanageable at home. The day they arrived (I took them) they were made to feel so welcome and I felt a huge sense of relief for myself. They are now going to stay permanently at the home. I cannot express enough how well they have settled due to the kindness and unbelievable attention and sensitivity shown by the staff in all areas.

Mother was in residence at another care home she moved to Cleeves House in March 2014, which was a new care home. Since she has lived there the complete staff from the manager to the latest member of staff have all been top class and not a thing seems too much trouble the catering is excellent in all departments and anytime we call in the staff are always pleased to have us there.

I find the care of my mother outstanding, can't fault any part of her care, diet included. She is very happy and content which means so much to me and my brother. Carers are underpaid in my opinion.

I am so pleased to have my father in Cleves Place the staff are very caring and nothing is too much trouble. They always keep me informed how my father is and are quick to react if there is a problem especially as my father has emphysema. The home has a programme of events which they encourage residents to attend which also helps with their well being. All in all, I am really pleased with Cleves Place and grateful for their care. Always recommend to others.

My mum has advanced dementia she rarely speaks I don't think she knows who I am.

Yesterday when I visited a member of staff was giving her one to one support while she walked endlessly back and forward. He was very gentle, kind and patient. The staff in my mum's area at Cleves Place are all wonderful. They do all they can to created a homely environment.

The staff at Cleves Place have successfully managed to make a residential home not only feel like a home for the residents but also for their relatives. They treat the residents with care ans compassion and provide an immense amount of support for relatives. Staff successfully ensure that the residents maintain a good quality of life. The set up of the home has clearly been done with the residents in mind. To be honest I have been greatly impressed by Cleves Place and feel all care homes should be marketed after it.

Overall we are very pleased with Cleves Place, the staff who look after my mum work and try very hard. It is my personal view that only small tweaks would shift the below from good to excellent. Some of the tweaks are not related to my mum's care, it's just an overview. I don't mind having a chat with the care home manager.

My brother had a massive stroke in June 2015 at the age of 52. He came to Cleves Place in September 2015 to reside in the nursing quarters. His care since then has been absolutely excellent. He is always treated with the utmost dignity and respect. Everyone always goes the extra mile and understands the frustrations that come with a stroke especially at the age of 52. My brother has improved immensely with constant care, physio and patience. He is almost standing now and his speech and eating is almost back to normal. This is mainly due to the care and family environment at Cleves Place.

Clare Mooney
Clare MooneyJob Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2015

I joined Cleves Place in 2015 as I liked Care UK’s vision and values. The home has a great family atmosphere, and we have a fantastic team here who work really well together to deliver the best care and experience for residents.

I love being able to make a difference in a resident’s life. If I can complete my shift knowing a resident has smiled and is happy, I feel I have achieved my goal. I also enjoy empowering colleagues to do their best work.

I’ve been working in the care sector for over twenty years, and I enjoy sharing my knowledge with new colleagues and watching them grow in confidence in their role.

I also like to keep learning and developing my own skills. One of my biggest professional challenges has been completing my Level 5 Diploma in Management. I’ve also had an article published in a palliative care publication.
