Mum stayed at Barchester Woodland View Care Home for 6 weeks respite. She had been struggling to cope following Dad's death and unfortunately had been admitted to a mental health unit twice. Her mental state is not good and she unfortunately may never be the same. My sister and I decided that a respite stay might do her some good as Woodland View Care Home arrange lots of activities to keep the brain and body stimulated and active. We hoped that it would help Mum get back into the real world and learn to mix and socialise too. Unfortunately, that did not happen but Woodland View could not have done more to encourage her. Woodland View arranged for Mum's meds to be dispensed from a local chemist, arranged for a nurse practitioner to visit when Mum was unwell, bought a fan for Mum during the recent hot weather and also bought a reusable dossett box to contain mum's drugs when she left. They also made sure that Mum had an extra week's supply before she left too. Every member of staff that I met was helpful and kind. All due to excellent leadership.

I would suggest anyone looking for a safe place for a loved one who is vulnerable and in need of care to visit Barchester Woodland View Care Home. The nurses and carers are so lovely with smiles, nothing is too much trouble, and they are prepared to adapt their duties around the most difficult resident. My husband was unhappy with the room, but within 30 minutes of the manager being made aware of this, my husband was moved to a different room and much more settled. The rooms are clean, fresh and modern and very pretty, there is a lovely dining room, sitting room and other facilities not to mention a beautiful garden, there are planned activities every day. There is a different menu of choice for each meal, but again, if this is not what is wanted, other choices are available. Staff treat family and friends as important. If someone visiting is spotted in distress, they will stop what they are doing to offer words of comfort and a cup of tea. Visiting is 24 hours - come and go as you please.

My parents stayed in Woodland View for three weeks respite while I was on holiday. I would thoroughly recommend this home to anyone looking for good care and very comfortable surroundings. The staff were very attentive and helpful. Activities were on most days, which my mum thoroughly enjoyed. I would not hesitate to send my parents there again, in fact, my mum was sad to leave.

My husband recently passed away on 20th May. It was my wish that he would spend end-of-life care at Woodland View, Kingswood Dementia ward where he had been a resident since December 2020, and not be admitted to the hospital. The reason being that the care, love and respect he was shown by the wonderful team of nurses and carers could not have been better. He had been in alternative care homes since 2018, and for the first time in four and a half years, myself and family had peace of mind knowing that he was safe and so well looked after. Even though he had the last stages of dementia, we knew that he was happy.

A new manager took over earlier this year, and what an asset to Barchester. He was always ready to chat, and all the staff really liked him (extremely approachable and genuinely understanding). I spent three nights sleeping by my husband's bedside before he died, and I was so well looked after with food, drinks and words of comfort from everyone who was on duty. I will be forever grateful. Thank you.

My sister has a learning disability and complex medical needs and has been a resident at Woodland View Care Home since January of this year. She had a terrible time prior to going to Woodland View in another care home where she was not looked after properly. This was very distressing for her and for us as a family. Subsequently, she arrived at Woodland View very unwell, and with none of her normal sparkle and enthusiasm for life.
I do not exaggerate when I say the wonderful staff here have brought her back to life with their exemplary care delivered with kindness and compassion.
My sister is now well on the road to recovery and has the sparkle back which we sadly hadn’t seen for many months prior to her going to Woodland View. She is now enjoying life again in a place that is full of life and laughter.

As a family we couldn’t be happier with the care she is receiving, and we are so grateful to all the staff for everything they have done and continue to do. Thank you so much.

Father began as respite before permanently joining the Memory Lane Community at Woodland view. We are impressed by the standard of care and attention given to him by the dedicated team of professional staff. Communication is excellent and we are kept updated, especially as father's behavior can at times prove challenging.

Our mother was a resident at Woodland View for two years. She had always been very independent and had lived on her own for many years. The decision to move out of her own home into a care home was not an easy one. As a family, we did a lot of research before choosing Woodland View. It was the right decision! Our mother was very well looked after. The staff were caring and considerate. They got to know her and made a real effort to help her to settle in. Other residents were also friendly and we got to know them too. Our mother was a resident there during the height of the pandemic when the country was in full lockdown. Although an extremely difficult and worrying time, it was reassuring to know that she was safe and well cared for. The staff - at all levels - were amazing. We are so grateful to them.

My mother-in-law was extremely well looked after at Barchester Woodland View Care Home. I visited Barchester Woodland View Care Home and it felt like I was in a five-star hotel, not a care home. The management team were outstanding, very professional and catered for all of our needs. The staff were extremely professional kind and very considerate. The facilities are outstanding with a 5-star feel. The care home offers marvellous considerate care at great value for money.

I stayed at Woodland View Care Home for two weeks after a major foot operation. As per the consultant's advice, I had to keep my foot raised most of the time for the 2 weeks of recovery. I took along my own leg support which was specifically designed for this recovery. The staff all seemed very happy, were supportive and all my care needs were catered for. I would thoroughly recommend after my 2 weeks respite here.

My Grandmother was dearly looked after at Barchester Woodland View Care Home. I visited Barchester Woodland View Care Home and it felt like I was in a five star hotel not a care home. The management team were very professional and welcoming as were all of the staff. Exquisite facilities and a palatial decor and feel about it. Great value, particularly if you take up the current offer till May 2021.

I came to this beautiful home in December. I came in feeling that I have no life left. But the staff here are amazing and they did everything that they can to make me feel positive and full of life and laughter. I couldn't have asked for more after a long, horrible hospital stay. It's a beautiful home - I mean 'home' and lovely gardens.

Wonderful care. Although Mum was not at Woodland View long, she was treated with dignity alongside outstanding and friendly care. The support we received as a family, from all staff, was the best. We are very grateful, even with the difficulties of lockdown, that Mum's last weeks and palliative care were in such a caring, homely environment.
