My mum became a resident of Cedar View in May and to say that my sister and I were devastated that mum had to go into a care home is an understatement..
Mum has surprised us both and settled in so well, she loves all the staff and calls Cedar View "HOME"
My sister and I will always be so grateful for the way the staff interact with our mum and ourselves, it has a fab family atmosphere and is kept spotlessly clean.

Thank you Cedar View, you are all amazing

My father was in Cedar View for nearly 4 months until he passed away at the end of Jan 2026. From the first day, when the manager accepted him at short notice, the staff were incredible supportive and helpful to both him and me. I visited often twice a day and got to know many of them well.
It is a challenging role dealing with so many residents with complex needs, but they keep to a tight routine and treat all of them as individuals and with respect. Both the managers are excellent and always available if you have any concerns. The manager goes round each day to the rooms to see how the residents are. She very much knows what is going on which is a real asset and very reassuring. The carers and duty nurses work very hard, there are some excellent ones that stand out but all do their best and are courteous and helpful.

So despite it being an emotional time for both myself and my father, their support and care allowed me to have some extra time with him and I would recommend their home.

My husband was taken into the care of Cedar View staff for nearly 5 months from hospital before his peaceful passing in February 2026. From the positive, reassuring Manager, to all the Admin and Care staff we met during that time, they were always very approachable, respectful, and clearly strive hard to work as a team. Care work is such a difficult job, but the friendly and professional way always shone through.

Our family will be forever grateful for their endless patience during a very difficult and emotional time for us.

We've always had excellent experiences at Cedar View, where my mother has lived for the past three years. The House manager, in particular, has consistently gone above and beyond - supporting my mum, guiding me through the challenges of caring for a loved one with Alzheimer's, and always offering a kind word when things get overwhelming. I truly couldn't ask for better care for Mum. The entire staff is incredibly kind and attentive, always making sure mum's needs are met - even when it's not easy, as she can be quite a challenge at times. I can't say enough goo things about our experience at Cedar View.

The staff at Cedar View looked after my grandmother with great care. She was non-verbal and paralysed on her right side, so she required high level of care. When I walked into Cedar View, looking for a home for my mum, I straight away felt a warmth that it was home. Mum was unable to verbally communicate but that did not stop the staff talking to her. They treated her with respect and always kept me updated with how she had been throughout the day. The staff are wonderful and always make time for me. My mum was well looked after all her needs physically and mentally were met by the staff. Cedar View is truly home from home.

I first visited Cedar View Care Centre with my husband in October 2023. We booked a tour with the aim of finding out if it would be suitable for my mum. My mum has Alzheimer's and now needs 24/7 care. Before we had even finished the tour, we knew it was the perfect place and were reassured that she would be safe and well looked after. At the time of admittance, she also had a chronic skin condition on her legs which was not getting better but with the expert nursing care she has received that is massively improved and it is no longer a serious concern. I look forward to visiting my mum there and we have all got used to the routine. There is a good, reassuring atmosphere at Cedar View and the staff are caring and attentive. If I have any concerns or issues, I can raise them and they will be addressed, either at the time or at one of the regular residents family meetings held.

My mum has been at Cedar View Care Centre for the past month. She receives exemplary palliative care at the home. All nurses and carers are kind, professional and engaged. They know residents well and are able to spot early signs of deterioration in health. The facilities are clean, meals varied and activities entertaining. The manager is an excellent problem solver and makes sure the home runs like a clock! Her smile, compassion and genuine interest in my mum made a huge difference. Importantly, the staff understand the stress on family with someone at end of life and are also looking after me, not only my mum.

I moved my mother to Cedar View in August 2023 after a six-month stay in hospital in another part of the country. Her mental capacity and overall health had deteriorated during her hospitalisation but I was delighted with the care and support she received from the staff at Cedar View, some of whom became great friends to my wife and me. I visited pretty much every day for the last eight months of my mother's life, usually in the evenings but at other times too, and always felt comfortable and happy with the level of care. I also appreciated the kindness of everyone there on and after the day my mother passed away. I would definitely recommend Cedar View.

Why do friends and family (registered) not get a formal notice letter when residents require equipment for furniture that the home does not provide?
E.g. wheelchairs, footrests, reclining chairs.

A formal letter or email seems fitting.

To everyone at Cedar View Care Centre. I wish to thank everyone, really everyone, at Cedar View Care Centre for their selfless, loving care extended to the resident over his long stay at the home. After being resuscitated, on the request of our estranged daughter living abroad, he was at ease despite being totally dependent on round-the-clock care. His care was totally selfless and loving and he was looked after with unbelievable support. He was at ease and happy. He surely was not an easy patient, but the home's care and understanding was beyond belief. Thank you. May he rest in peace having succumbed to COVID on 19th February, having managed several times to overcome the virus despite his weak physical state.

Meet the Team (1)

Isabel Nyirenda
Isabel NyirendaJob Title:Home Manager

I have been working in healthcare for many years, both in the NHS and the private sector.

I qualified as a Registered General Nurse in 1993 and have since acquired extensive experience across various fields of nursing, including critical care, geriatrics, and community health.

Throughout my career, my philosophy has remained very simple: “Treat others as you would like to be treated.” This principle guides my interactions with patients, families, and colleagues, ensuring that compassion and respect are at the forefront of our care.

I lead a dedicated team that embraces a holistic approach to deliver person-centred care, tailoring our services to meet the individual needs of each resident. While pictures in the brochure can speak a thousand words, I always recommend a visit to the home for a true understanding of our environment.

Seeing the space for yourself and having the opportunity to engage in conversation with team members, residents, or visiting relatives allows you to truly appreciate the warm and welcoming atmosphere we strive to create every day.
