My mother lived at Cedar View for the last three months of her life. During her stay there, the care given to her by the manager and deputy manager and their team was exemplary. I cannot praise them enough. They were kind, thoughtful, efficient and professional in everything that they did.
Under their
care, mum was eating and drinking better and was no longer lonely and bored, as she had been at home.
Her room was always clean and was well furnished and, when she was confined to her bed with illness, the extra touches supplied by the staff to keep her surroundings interesting were very thoughtful.
She very much enjoyed the activities provided and joined in with far more than we would have expected of her. Their thoughtfulness even extended to us, Mum's family. We were always kept well-informed of all that was going on and even on one occasion when my wife and I had travelled a long way to visit were provided at their insistence with sandwiches.
We cannot recommend them too highly.

Very friendly, caring staff in all fields. Kindly and understandingly competent when dealing with residents. Very good at liaising with families/friends. Flexible. Very tolerant of residents' eccentricities.
Excellent following a resident's husband's death and very kind and generous post-funeral.
I
am extremely grateful that Cedar View Care Centre had a vacancy when an urgent placement from hospital was needed.

My 86-year-old father has been a resident since April 2023 having been at a different care home before this. I visit him three or more times a week and this care home is amazing in terms of facilities and the care he receives. The management team are 'on the ball' and for the first time, I do not need
to worry about my dad. I can relax knowing he is getting first-class care.

In my eighties, I was brought here to recover from damage after a fall. The staff have been friendly, caring, gentle and efficient and a pleasure to know. I shall miss them. I was pleased to have freedom of movement to walk about and exercise. It has been a very positive, rewarding and heartwarming

My husband has been a resident at Cedar View Care Centre for six months. In that time we have found two important areas of professionalism and expertise. One is care, in its widest sense, from everyone, nurses, carers, cleaning staff, reception, management and nutritionists. They all show the utmost
care with kindness and gentleness to us all. Secondly, the friendliness, always a cheerful smile and a chat with my husband and all of us when we are visiting. Nothing is ever too much trouble, even when he is being a bit difficult! We thank them that they give us peace of mind and care about us as well. More than happy with Cedar View.
Facilities and activities are only rated good because my husband's physical condition has meant we have not really experienced these facilities.

My review is based entirely on one visit of one-hour duration, hence I am unable to respond to all the boxes. I was treated with courtesy on arrival. The receptionist was very helpful. Once seated with my sister, we were offered tea, coffee and biscuits, all of which were gratefully received after a
fairly long journey. The carer looking after my sister was attentive, kind and helpful.

My mother has been a resident since March 2022 moving from Worthing. I have found the staff to be wholly professional, caring and compassionate. The room and facilities are high quality and well maintained with the gardens and facilities excellent.
I would especially mention the care and help we have
seen from all the staff, from the manager down - to all of you, sincere and heartfelt thanks for your love and care.

Although I live in Ireland, I am comforted by the fact that I have no worries about my father's care. I can only visit for one week every month so it is good to know he is in safe hands and looked after by pleasant staff.

Although only with you for an unexpectedly short period, Dad was made to feel welcome and much care and thought was given to preparation before his move to Cedar View Care Centre, required at short notice. Staff always introduced themselves and were friendly to him and any visitors. Room was very clean,
from the little I saw of the food it looked and smelt excellent. Always made to feel nothing was too much trouble if we asked, staff very helpful and took a genuine interest in him. Segregation of floors to meet care needs was a positive arrangement. (Hard to assess some aspects as his stay was only two weeks.)

I visited my father-in-law on four occasions in May. The visit had been arranged with the care home staff. They were most helpful and on arrival (my first visit) the protocols were carefully explained and followed. Management and staff were friendly and did everything to ensure my father-in-law enjoyed
the visit. I observed the warmth and care they gave to the residents and preparedness to go the extra mile with birthday cakes for residents. The home is clean and well decorated and furnished. The garden is also lovely. Over four visits I saw and received the same level of friendliness from the staff.

Although Mother has only been a resident for two weeks she has just started to settle. She was very anxious at first and really homesick. She needed more and more things from her home to make her room familiar. She is timid and difficult at times but the staff have been very professional and encouraging.
Hope she decides to stay, it's a happy, pleasant environment.

I would have no hesitation recommending Cedar View Care Centre. Last year both my parents were very ill and taken into hospital - to add to that, it was at the height of Covid and I live in Australia. I needed to find the right place for both of them and after a Zoom interview with the manager and administrator
I was impressed - they seemed so nice. I was not wrong - the team at Cedar View cared for my parents beautifully and since Mum passed away last year have cared for Dad. The respect with which they treat him and me is greatly appreciated. Cedar View have made me so welcome when I was able to visit Dad for the first time this May. The weekly activities organised bring Dad out of himself and he is very happy with his care. Thank you Cedar View - I know Dad is in the best hands.

Pleased to see my father has settled in, and he is not moaning about his care as he did when he initially moved in. I attribute this to good staff. My mother and sister speak commendably as to his care. The Myo app allows me greater access to seeing all the activities he is in, but Poppy, the support
dog seems to be his highlight. Very grateful that I have access to him in this medium.

I take communion to the residents and I am always welcomed by staff and residents. The centre is clean, well-run and well-managed by delightful, caring staff. There is a delightful, peaceful atmosphere here.

Cedar View Care Centre in Croydon must be one of the top care homes in the UK. The level of care, understanding and genuine friendship shown to both residents and visitors is second to none. The manageress and manager are delightful and nothing is too much trouble for them as they will always speak
to you when they are available. The facilities and cleanliness are perfect. I would and "did" highly recommend this care home to anyone!

Have received very good care. The home is very clean and fresh with no bad smells. Staff are very good. Of course, things have changed a lot with the Covid, but gradually getting back to normal.

My parents arrived in April in some distress and were greeted as family immediately. My mother has recently died. She has been cared for lovingly and professionally. My father's ongoing care has been planned thoughtfully and with tenderness. This home is excellently managed. We could not want or ask

My elderly father stayed here for over 2 years, nearly 3 years. He was well looked after, fed, entertained, stimulated, nothing could have been done better.

The people at Cedar View Care Centre are very caring. When you walk through the doors to the home it feels warm and welcoming and you are greeted by lovely staff. My mum was very well looked after and although her time at Cedar View may have been short I believe she felt very much at home and said all
staff were lovely and kind. Everybody I met was helpful, friendly and thoroughly nice. Thank you everyone for taking such good care of my mum during her stay with you.

My name is Isabel Nyirenda. I am the home manager at Cedar View Care Centre. I have been working in healthcare, both the NHS and the Private Sector for many years. I qualified as a Registered General nurse in 1993.


I have acquired a lot of experience in various fields of Nursing and my philosophy has remained very simple – “Treat others as you would like to be treated.” I have a team that embraces a holistic approach to deliver a person-cantered care.


Although pictures in the brochure can speak a thousand words; but a visit to the Home where you can see for yourself and have a feel of the place and also have the opportunity to chat with any members of the team, residents or visiting relatives is always recommended.

I have been a Home Manager as well as Deputy Manager. I have worked in the Adults’ Social and Health Care Department for 5 years. I love working with the residents and their families and making sure that I support the residents to meet their needs.


My hobbies include reading novels, Netflix, gardening, landscape photography, cooking, baking and cake decorating.

I love building strong relationships with our residents, their families and my team. I feel great pride in my role as I know it makes a difference in people’s lives.


The best part of my role is creating moments of joy for our residents and helping them to overcome obstacles to fulfil their aims and wishes. My role is important because the well-being of our residents is at the core of everything we do.
