Tremona has managed to make my mum feel welcome, address her care needs after a fall (on holiday), and its staff and management have been handling the Covid situation, in my opinion, extremely well, given the circumstances. She has put on weight (a miracle with my mum) and as far as I can see has been
steadily recovering from her fall.
I was in dire straights when Tremona took my mum in - she'd had the accident abroad of all places and had had to go to hospital just two weeks before lockdown - but they have given me confidence in the care system and I would have no doubt in getting her back here should the need arise.

My Auntie has been a resident at Tremona for over four years. Right from day one, the care, compassion and love she has received from all of the staff has been truly outstanding. All areas of the home are tip-top, from the residents' personal rooms through to the communal lounges, dining rooms, reception
area and garden/patio areas. As a family, during 'normal times' we visit my Auntie at all times, morning, afternoon and evening, we are always greeted with a 'Hello' and warm smile and always made to feel welcome. Owing to the current COVID restrictions, we have been unable to visit Tremona since March. Nevertheless, throughout this extremely worrying period, we have been regularly informed of the situation within the home and on the wellbeing of my Auntie. In my opinion, the decisive action by Tremona to close the home to all visitors back in early March speaks for itself - At all times the priority is the safety, health and welfare of all residents - 11/10.

My friend has been a resident at Tremona for three years. She has been given excellent care throughout this time, during which her needs have become greater as her health issues have become more complex. The unfailing kindness of staff that I have witnessed, not only to her but to other residents, has
been a constant. Tremona provides a bright, friendly, welcoming, resident-centred environment with ample opportunities to enrich residents' experience either by group activities or those focused on the individual. Staff with whom I have come into contact work to the highest standards.

My disabled brother came to live with us in 2002 and was diagnosed with dementia in 2015, by 2017 we were no longer able to give him the 24hr care he needed. Previously he had been in respite care when we took a holiday and we had used some local care homes but were not overly impressed with any.
When
looking for a respite break we came across ‘Tremona,’. From our first tentative telephone call re a respite break we felt very reassured with the friendly, welcoming and professional help and advice that was offered. He stayed there on a number of occasions and the care he received at all times was excellent. However, as time went by his dementia took a stronger hold. We then had to let the superb staff at Tremona take care of him full time.
He was highly intelligent but the dementia took all that and more, The staff are all excellent, although it may be more accurate to say the ‘family’ as that is how we now see them. They really take care as their #1 priority.

My mum moved to Tremona a few weeks before the lockdown began. I can't praise the staff highly enough.
I would have spent a lot of time with Mum getting her used to the new environment and settling her, this wasn't possible but the staff have taken the time to get to know her and understand what makes
her happy. They've gone out of their way to provide for her needs and facilitate activities she enjoys.
Tremona is an exemplar of care and should be the blueprint for how care homes are run.

My mum is a lot younger than the majority of residents so as we knew her stay would be a long term one, it was very important for us to find that special place. Mission accomplished! And we visited a lot of places!!
The entire team is wonderful; an abundance of patience, good humour and caring.
I
live abroad so communication is important. They are always available to talk to me if I have any doubts. When I call they immediately know who I am and what is going on with my mum, there's no "let me pass you to someone who does". The well-being of all residents and their families is definitely their primary objective.
The general atmosphere at the home is always warm and welcoming, you almost feel like you're stepping into a family home.
The entertainment is fantastic, there's always something going on! Games, parties, excursions, even personalised outings.
I couldn't feel more relieved that my mum is in such good hands.

We are so pleased we chose Tremona as the care home for my mother-in-law a year ago. We know she is comfortable, well cared for, well fed and her time is filled with interesting, stimulating and fun activities (unless she wants to be left alone to read the paper!). The staff are wonderful -very caring
and always approachable and friendly and we know that if there are any issues of concern we will be contacted, or we can make contact if we have concerns. So grateful to the team, especially in this current period of lockdown.

Brilliant care home, can't find any faults. Staff are so friendly and understanding. Whenever there has been an issue or if my father has had the doctor called out I always get a phone call or email stating the problem.
Would recommend this care home all the time

I am writing this review because I would whole-heartedly recommend Tremona Care Home. I always receive a warm welcome from the staff and found the general atmosphere very friendly and relaxed. The staff always took up the concerns I had and dealt with them efficiently and effectively. The staff were
very helpful in accommodating any individual requirements of residents.
The activities, which also carry on at the weekends, were varied and the activities coordinator was always engaging with new ideas and suggestions with great enthusiasm.
To sum up, Tremona lived up to all my expectations and more.

My mother had two week's respite care here. The staff are all enthusiastic and extremely pleasant. There is always someone nearby and nothing is too much trouble. There are plenty of lounges and activities and the food is freshly prepared onsite. The staff all seem happy in their roles and this is a
good reflection on the company. I would have no hesitation in having my mother stay again if the need arises.

My brother was admitted to Tremona due to a brain injury resulting from surgery. I found all members of staff made him at home immediately. They were totally supportive and caring towards his needs. Guidance and support also encouragement was shown to both my brother and family. Our family believe their
constant support has contributed to his return home.

Room is lovely but the bed could be better (base especially). Activities are available to all residents, it is a shame more don't take part in them. The activities organisers are very enthusiastic and try to find something for everyone.
Staff are unfailingly polite and helpful to guests of residents

Having reviewed many care homes in the area, we felt that Tremona offered the care and facilities we were looking for. Despite some initial ups and downs with my mother's health, we have felt supported at every turn. The staff are thoughtful, caring and respectful from the manager down. The entertainment
programme is brilliant and covers a wide variety of activities. It was a difficult decision to move my mother out of the home but we feel we could not have made a better choice. Even when things go slightly wrong the feedback is received positively and change/adaptation is swift.

My mother has been in Tremona on a permanent basis for approximately 18 months and care, fluidness and general welcoming of the home is excellent. Unfortunately, she passed away a couple of weeks ago and thankfully it was agreed for her last days she could return to Tremona from hospital. When we thought
the care was excellent before, it stepped up even higher. The girls treated her so well with compassion and dignity and we, the family, felt part of the 'Tremona family'. Thank you does not seem enough.

My mother was resident at Tremona for 2 and a half years until her death last October. She had severe dementia. The care she received from all the staff was exemplary. In my opinion, she could not have been better cared for anywhere else, even at home by her family and carers, had that been possible.
Most importantly, she was loved - highlighted by how she was cared for in her last days. Her family cannot thank Tremona enough for all they did for her.

Unfortunately, my mother recently passed away at Tremona. The staff could not have been more supportive. They always treated mum with dignity and respect. All members of staff treat you like "one of the family". I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Tremona to anybody. The manager is very approachable
and compassionate. The seniors are efficient and caring. The care assistants and their staff are a credit to B&M.

Current Review Score: 9.0 (8.951)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.0 (8.951) out of 10 for Tremona Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 5 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.1 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.883 for Tremona Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (53 Excellents x 5) + (7 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 60 Ratings = 4.883
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.068 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Tremona Care Home is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.5
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 44 registered maximum number of service users is 8.8. 5 Positive Reviews ÷ 8.8 = 0.568
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
