I can’t compliment the staff and management highly enough. It is difficult to believe that the previous home is even part of the same group.
Rose Lodge has a wonderful atmosphere and ‘buzz’ about it. There seems to be always some activities going on for the residents. The staff are friendly and attentive and help mum with her post-stroke physio.
Everyone has time for the relatives, whether it be in person during visits, or on the phone, and involve them whenever necessary.
Rose Lodge is certainly a very well run home and the difference in mum since she transferred is noticeable and good to see.
Thank you to everyone at Rose Lodge for the care and attention they give mum.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review for Rose Lodge Care Home, we appreciate all comments and feedback. We are very pleased that your mother has settled so well with us and is enjoying life with our family here at Rose Lodge. I will pass your kind comments on to our staff team.
The best way I can sum up my thoughts about Rose Lodge Care Home is to quite simply say that my resident mother (93 years old) absolutely loves where she is and effectively looks upon all of the staff from the managers down as a surrogate family. They are simply the reason why she maintains for the most part a happy mental and psychological state and view of the last years of her life. I can only echo that sentiment for the whole period of my mother's residence at Rose Lodge over the last five years. The management and all of the staff at Rose Lodge appear to me to be totally committed to running an efficient, friendly and comfortable establishment where proper care is the watchword whilst also applying the necessary rules of care home management in an efficient, no-nonsense manner for both residents and visiting family and friends whilst occasionally also adopting a flexible approach where possible. For me, that represents a perfect management balance. Well done to all concerned.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review for Rose Lodge Care Home, it is wonderful to hear how happy you are with the running of our care home and the care we provide for your mother. It is a pleasure to care for her as part of our family here at Rose Lodge.
Lovely, warm, welcome, support and assistance from wonderful staff. I am completely confident that Mum is in the best possible place for her, and we can never thank staff enough for everything they do. Awesome.
Thank you for your lovely review of Rose Lodge Care Home, it is a pleasure to care for your mother as part of our family here at Rose Lodge.
Rose Lodge is truly excellent. My father spent his final year there and now my mother-in-law is a resident. One could not possibly hope for better care. The interior is beautifully furnished (very important for mother-in-law, who gets very difficult if not somewhere stylish), the rooms are good, and the staff are very patient indeed (they've needed to be for both of my relatives).

The care home has a hotel feel to it, with pleasant living spaces and very good food. Activities seem to be a bit hit and miss but when they happen are very good. In the main, the staff seem to be attentive and caring. Given the pandemic, and the extra pressure on staff as a result it feels almost churlish to make any negative comments, however, the care provided here comes at a price, and there is definitely room for improvement in some areas. Noticing when a resident has not been wearing their glasses for a few days, or that they have got three dresses on, one on top of the other without having to have it pointed out by a family member who has spotted it on Facebook would be an example. Also, it often takes 3-4 phone calls before being able to speak to a resident as ‘someone else is using the line’; definitely a need for extra telephone access during this time of restricted visiting. Overall, very good but expensive, hence the high expectations.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review for Rose Lodge Care Home, we appreciate all comments and feedback. My door is always open should you wish to discuss any questions or concerns that you may have regarding the care of your loved one.
The care my mother in law received from her first day has been 100%, it took a while for her to settle, but all the staff have been compassionate, treat her with care and respect. I couldn't have been more satisfied to know she is well looked after and safe. And happy. Thank you to you all.

Cannot thank the care home staff at Rose Lodge enough. Mum entered the care home mid-December on respite care, due to a sudden decline in mental and physical health. The change in her is fantastic. Having safe and secure surroundings, health-focused food that is of a high standard, attentive care with a strong focus on wellbeing has certainly made a difference. Happy to recommend as a care facility you can trust.
Thank you for writing a review for Rose Lodge Care Home, we are delighted to hear that you've been so pleased with the progress your mother has made with us. We are very happy to have her as part of our family here at Rose Lodge and we look forward to welcoming you back for a visit very soon.
Rose Lodge has really helped our family feel settled at the fact Grandad is so well looked after. From being constantly worried about his mental and physical health of being alone for the last 10 months, having him stay here at Rose Lodge is the biggest blessing to us. The care provided to him is more than we could have wished for. The manager was so supportive and helpful when it came to Grandad moving in, he is so happy here and we are all so happy he is here! Finding somewhere for your loved one is a difficult decision and of course you have high standards for the care you want them to receive! Here you have no worries in the slightest, every requirement is met and exceeded, the relief as a family we have is unreal, and we are so glad grandad now has his extended family taking care of him as if he was a part of their own!
Thank you for taking the time to write a lovely review of Rose Lodge Care Home, I will ensure that your kind words are passed on to the staff team. It is truly a pleasure to care for your Grandad and we are delighted that he's settled so well into our family here at Rose Lodge.
Couldn’t recommend Rose Lodge enough, our grandad was extremely well looked after here. We are all very grateful to the amazing staff who work so hard to ensure he was comfortable and happy at all times.
The care provided by all at Rose Lodge was outstanding. They were consistently kind and caring and provided a safe and secure home for my mother for a year and a half. At the end of her life, they treated her with dignity and kindness. Their kindness extended to the rest of the family and in particular, to my father.
My mother passed away after 18 months in Rose Lodge. She had Alzheimer's. From the day she moved in, to the day she passed away, the manager and each and every member of staff have shown love, care, respect and humour to Mum. They also offered these, along with friendship and support, to my visiting father, who joined Mum at Rose Lodge regularly for lunch and to me and my sisters. It is a really lovely place, a real community and a real home.
All that should perhaps be expected, but it takes good management and an organized team of sufficient size with mutual respect. That's not always the case. Here, as a visiting family member, you know that your time with your loved one is the best you could achieve in the circumstances, free of the guesswork over issues of comfort, diet and cleanliness.
Strongly recommend.
This is the care home I dreamed of finding for my mum but didn’t think existed. If you would like your treasured relative to be cared for with love, respect, consideration and compassion with full attention to their medical/ personal/ welfare/ emotional needs etc by the most amazingly dedicated staff (who also treat relatives of residents with the same love and compassion) then this is the place for you. Cannot begin to express my appreciation to these wonderful people.
It is extremely difficult for a family to make a decision that a loved one requires more help than you are able to provide and very daunting trying to pick the best place for them to spend the rest of their time. But we have absolutely no doubt that we have picked the very best of the best! From the moment you set foot inside Rose Lodge, you are welcomed as family. It has the most wonderful feel about the place and everyone is so well looked after. Nothing is ever too much trouble and we cannot ever thank them enough for what they have done and continue to do for our loved one. They have activities to involve everyone daily and they encourage the family to get involved in all aspects of life there eg. Meals with your family, special events, quizzes, wine nights etc. You truly feel at ease there and that everything is taken care of. The dedication the carers show to their patients is second to none, they are all amazing. We couldn’t wish for any more from Rose Lodge.
Visiting a close friend resident, some three to four years ago, in Rose Lodge I was always impressed by the relaxed friendly environment, pleasing buildings enhanced by attractive planting around the paved terrace. Nothing institutional! My friend always said how kind the carers and helpers were and particularly as his condition deteriorated, he emphasised that he would not want to be moved elsewhere. So when I needed, at fairly short notice, to find full-time care for my wife with developing dementia, I had no hesitation in choosing Rose Lodge, a decision fully justified by subsequent experience. Staff are invariably kind and sensitive to each individual's needs and capabilities.
My mum is 99 years old and needed more care than I could sustain so to Rose Lodge. Wonderful managers and all nurses and HCA's exceptional. The ladies and gentlemen re food are so understanding as are all other staff who are wonderful. I am so grateful that my mum is safe in Rose Lodge.
The management and staff are extremely professional and caring to all the residents. Taking residents out for activities as well as activities in the home, in my opinion, are an invaluable way in which to keep their minds and bodies active.
In summary, I am extremely impressed with the home and staff.
I moved my mother to Rose Lodge in Feb 2019 as I was unhappy with her previous care home. From the moment I first went through the door, I felt comfortable and reassured. I spent the afternoon sitting with a cup of coffee and watching and listening and quickly decided that the level of care and respect afforded to residents was what I wanted for my mother. Care with kindness, cleanliness, good food, dignity and respect are what Rose Lodge offers. Sadly Mum died after only two months there, but I cannot recommend them highly enough or explain how glad I am that I moved her there and both she and our family were so grateful for the way they looked after her while she was there. I witnessed great caring and kindness from so many people that it felt humbling. No matter what their role, everyone took time out to talk to Mum, hold her hand, encourage her to eat. I found their support of me in her last days invaluable as well. An amazing team of people doing an amazing job.
April this year was the anniversary of Mum moving to Rose Lodge for permanent care. As her daughter, I had tried to look after her but knew that a home would be best for Mum's growing needs. Rose Lodge is a wonderful place for Mum as it is a smaller care home with just 31 rooms at present.
Mum has an upper floor room and receives supportive care from the staff. She is never on her own all day as people come in to deliver things or sit with her or clean the room - great housekeeping team. There is a lounge she can access as well to watch tv with others or just people watch. From the moment you step over the threshold, the feeling is of a home, not just a care home. The staff are supportive of the families of residents as well as caring for residents. We know this is the right choice for Mum.
They are always doing activities for the residents and Mum has made several friends.
