This a terrible care home, that takes your money and provides little to no care. We found out today my granddad had been sneaking alcohol and the carer hadn't noticed and is interfering with his medication he's is meant to be taking, no idea if they actually are giving his medication. We also found this out from the kitchen staff and not the carers, they didn't even acknowledge this was happening. This place is a lawsuit waiting to happen with the complete lack of care happening. Please find somewhere else to send your loved ones, this place is terrible. 1-1 care does not exist, all the carers are on their phones and barely interact with any of the people in the home. There are no activities happening, it's a horribly run care home.

We are always disappointed when we receive a poor review and will always look at lessons to be learnt.

In this case the resident's family was served with a Notice to Terminate the placement on 6th October 2023 for non payment of fees. I have investigated all the issues raised and communicated...

My friend who has dementia, was moved to Mulberry Court in the summer from another care home where she was very unhappy and she was deemed to need more care. Since she arrived I have seen many more glimpses of her old self re-appear. Rather than being very insular, she will interact with the staff and even make some jokes. As with all dementia patients, every day is different but it is wonderful to see that a number of the staff know exactly how to bring a smile to her face. I am sure it is greatly helped by the ability for her to have a great entertainment team to brighten her life. She has always been small but she is putting on weight and has a number of regular experiences that she enjoys, which is such a joy to see.

My mum has been at Mulberry Court for nearly five years, and she's been cared for by very caring and compassionate people. When she's been going into different stages of dementia, her care has been adapted very quickly. I couldn't wish for better.

My mum has been at Mulberry Court for four months since breaking her hip and not being able to live at home anymore. She has advanced dementia and challenging behaviour. The staff are kind and caring and cope well with what must be a very difficult job. I visit several times a week and carers can always give me information about how my mum is doing. They take pride in their work and take delight in even a small amount of progress. The food is lovely and nutritious and kitchen staff are friendly and helpful. If there has ever been a problem the manager is on to it straight away, takes it seriously, and comes up with a solution. I would recommend Mulberry Court to anyone who is looking after someone with dementia.

Mulberry Court may not be the most swanky of care homes but it is certainly caring, clean and comfortable. the residents are treated with respect by care staff and management. The entertainment team are always looking for ways to keep the residents entertained. This includes music events, quizzes and gardening. I can find nothing negative to say.

Good all-round performance, sometimes in difficult circumstances. Patient treated well, difficult patients ie noisy, always wanting attention upsets the silent ones. Noisy complainers always get more attention than this deserves. All staff including agency, give their best at all times.

Mum moved to Mulberry Court following the closure of her previous home. It was a worrying time but we need not have worried! Moving to Mulberry Court has been the best thing for Mum. The care and nursing staff are wonderful and the activities organisers provide a wonderful range of stimulating activities. Mum loves the food she gets! The management has created a lovely family feel to the home. It is lovely having Mum be part of the Mulberry family.

My mother was in this care home and received excellent care until she passed away in 2021. A friend's mother is now a resident, and Mulberry Court continues to provide exemplary care. They have come through all the challenges Covid presented, and I can not praise them enough.

My mum had been allowed to fall out of bed twice, even though we had already told them she falls out of bed. Had visited her with a black eye, broken nose, and broken teeth. Wouldn't let my mum rest near the final stages of brain cancer. Wouldn't let me safeguard her or give me the form. Nurses refusing painkillers at end of life. The nurses were shouting and being aggressive to my sister in front of my dying mum because she was requesting painkillers. Don't let your family members go into this terrible place. There's too much to write about. This place deserves no stars.

In accordance with the review policy, it is difficult to submit a full review as they do not accept any negative comments or such like and or preview all of the reviews before posting on the website. So, I would say if the relative/friend/spouse is a palliative care patient then think twice about placing them in this home, especially if they are nonverbal as I would say the senior members of staff don't have the experience with this type of patient and it could lead to your loved one not receiving the right care medically.

My father had been in Mulberry Court for three months. Over this time he has been looked after immensely. Time was taken to get to know my father and his needs. Activities are provided to suit all in their care. The staff are friendly and I can visit any time between 8 and 8 (apart from protected lunchtime 12-2.) I can also take my father out of the home to visit family or for a catch-up with friends and full attention is taken upon his return to ensure his needs have been met for the day regarding meal consumption, medication and hydration levels. He is always smart and clean and happy in himself when I have visited. Could do with some renovation but the manager is always straightforward and explains what she has to work with. Special mentions for two members of staff who look after my pops. I am so grateful to the whole team for their continued support. Without them, my father would be extremely vulnerable. Dementia is hard on everyone and these guys are making the situation more manageable.

My husband moved to Mulberry Court in July for dementia nursing care. At only 63 and otherwise healthy, this followed a difficult year finding a suitable place for him to settle and do well. From day one, it was clear Mulberry Court have an excellent team with both the skill and desire to provide genuine person-centred care. It's early days, but I have already seen improvements in his wellbeing. Despite ongoing uncertainties caused by Covid, everyone is committed to achieving the best support and care they can for both residents and family. There is genuine compassion and pride that runs throughout the home from carers and nursing staff, to those responsible for maintaining a clean, well run home and the on-site kitchen providing daily fresh meal choices. It is strongly led by a manager who is fully involved and always approachable. I thank Mulberry Court for their commitment to providing a welcoming home and positive outcome for my husband and enabling us both to look forward again.

We placed mum into Mulberry Court over a year ago and she has settled well.
She has dementia and can be difficult. The staff are very caring and considerate and the food looks nutritious.
Pre covid we could pop in and visit without an appointment and always found the residents being entertained with music, games and activities. The staff make sure to find out about the residents' history and family to enable them to chat about things in the past and keep them stimulated.
We would highly recommend Mulberry Court and hope if and when we need a home that they have spaces available!

To finish up, we would like to wholeheartedly thank the staff and carers for looking after Mum and hope that anybody that is in the position of considering where to place a loved family member who is at a point in life where they do require constant care, that this review will help them in their decision and remove the anxiety that obviously comes with making such a choice.

I moved my Mum to Mulberry in March just before the Covid 19 lockdown. My mum has dementia and some challenging behaviours and prior to her move was confined to wheelchair and not walking. Since her move, her mobility and overall health has improved massively and she now can walk with a frame at times.
Her behaviours have been treated with a professionalism and compassion that she needed and are not seen as difficult or a problem like on previous care homes. The home strives to improve her quality and enjoyment of life and despite all the challenges Covid has created, this is being achieved.
As a family, we feel extremely grateful to have such a supportive home for Mum as we can't visit due to travel restrictions.

Mulberry Court is as good as the care home can get in my opinion. And finally, after 3 previous care home moves, we can have the peace of mind that this care is being provided.

Mulberry Court has provided the highest standard of care to all the residents there during the pandemic. My sister and I have been updated and received video calls from our dad during a very worrying time and that is very reassuring. We feel able to talk to all staff about any concerns we may have, even though our dad has only been there since January all the staff have made us feel part of their extended family, thank you Mulberry Court.

I chose this care home for my mother after reading reviews on this site. She received excellent care for fifteen months until her recent death. It may not be the poshest care home around but the love and care provided by the staff is exemplary. Mum was not able to take part in many of the varied activities but enjoyed an afternoon tea out with my father as part of their Hopes and Dreams scheme. The staff take a personal interest in each resident and they quickly become part of the family. Mum’s condition deteriorated swiftly and professional adjustments were made promptly for her care. They provided excellent End of Life Care and sat with her tirelessly. If you are in any doubt about the right care home, then choose this one.
