You could not wish for a more genuine, caring and befitting place for your loved ones.
My father was there for 3 months following a horrendous 3-month ordeal in hospital.
During his stay, he regained his thirst for life, made many friends and completely defied the hospital by making sound medical progress.

We definitely intend to use Hazelwell for respite in the future.

Having been failed with full-time care in the home, Hazelwell was our chosen place for a very vulnerable family friend.
The quality of service from all members from admin to carers and housekeeping is only a glimpse into this dedicated home for elderly people, wishing to be cared for with kindness and dignity at all times.
The food and service of such are of the best quality.

Visitors are made welcome along with children and family pets. Activities and cinema room plus outings made this an amazing home to spend your twilight years.

The Hazelwell offers a home from home experience. The staff are professional, caring, respectful and provide the resident with a new family.
I couldn't ask for more for the care of my aunt.
The staff treat us as friends and allow us to behave as if it was my aunt's house. The dog and children are allowed to visit and we can attend for lunches.

The place is truly remarkable and I hope that one day I will be in a position to stay myself for the next stage of my life.

Mum stayed here for nine days whilst my sister (Mum's main carer) had a holiday.

We were very happy with all aspects of care and help given to Mum. I'd have no hesitation in recommending the above care home.

Having fallen and cracked my spine and ribs, I was treated in the hospital and then transferred into first class care at Hazelwell for 4.5 weeks. My private bedroom with full services, TV, Radio and storage for personal goods and after several days Helped by kind and caring staff to explore and use the facilities - library, cinema, tearooms, restaurant and sitting in the garden and my prepaid daily newspaper was delivered. The breakfast, lunch and dinner service was excellent as was the discreet personal health and hygiene services. My improved mobility was rewarded with local trips with staff, was my return home in the centre of Hazelwell.

2 weeks recuperation after 10 days hospital for bowel surgery. I have very much appreciated the quiet and the ability to sleep after the noise in hospital. The home is comfortable, well maintained and apart from over crowding in the dining room, particularly at lunch time, very satisfactory. The plumbing is modern and rather confusing and should be explained to new residents.

My husband was admitted in December 2016 with terminal brain tumours, but only for two days respite. He deteriorated quickly and it was deemed in his best interest to remain until he passed away. The care my husband received involved administering medication, personal care, checking for complications, changing as my husband's condition changed. The professional staff dealt with all the medical changes throughout, taking the stress away from the family. Throughout the twelve days, the staff treated my husband with the utmost care and respect. They dealt with all the intimacies, emotional and practical aspects of my husband's illness with great thoughtfulness and professionalism and I cannot recommend them enough.

My Aunt was moved to The Hazelwell Care Home for end of life care. I cannot praise the staff enough, they were all excellent from receptionists, managers, catering and nursing. The kindness and thoughtfulness with which she received was amazing. The high standard of care at a most difficult and demanding stage was also extended to us, as her nearest relations, this was very much appreciated. My Aunt died peacefully on 2nd December. Thank you to all concerned with her care.

I looked at many homes when I was looking for a day care home for my mother and Hazelwell stood head and shoulders above the rest on all factors. I have had no reason to review my decision since she loves being here. The facilities and staff are fantastic. As a health professional of 40 years, this is the best care home I have ever seen.

I cannot praise The Hazelwell Care Home highly enough. Everything about it is truly exceptional- the location, the quality of the building and furnishings/decor (in bedrooms and public rooms) the facilities, the cleanliness, the food and most importantly the staff. Since his move from another care home, my dad is so much happier. Dad needs a high level of care and support but absolutely nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff. Dad is treated with dignity and such kindness- he says he feels like he is being thoroughly spoilt each and every day! The staff work as a close knit team and nothing is too much trouble for any of them. They are obviously a happy team and this ethos pervades all aspects of The Hazelwell Care Home. I would recommend anyone looking for truly exceptional care for a loved one to visit The Hazelwell to see this very special place for themselves.
