I am extremely happy with the care my mother is receiving at home of Compassion. The staff are very helpful and supportive of my Mum's needs. They listen to her and respect her space and independence. They know when to step in and when to let her get on by herself. I very much feel they allow her to
be herself.

The overall stay for my mother was excellent. The home is of a high standard and as usual, the staff were caring and helpful. Would recommend this home to anyone who had to have respite for any length of time. The setting and views are just lovely and tastefully done.

I visited back in early September. Greeted by staff and made to feel welcome. Staff are polite, well mannered and seem to love the job completely which is lovely to see. Great atmosphere all round. Beautiful light airy bedrooms, lovely lounging areas and dining room. Spectacular gardens and outside
seating areas looking over the Thames. All round a wonderful home.

Had an amazing day visiting my aunt was made to feel very welcome, everyone caring helpful and friendly. The food was excellent and surroundings were fantastic.
Bedrooms and interior of the home like a 5-star hotel. The only downside to the day were the roadworks. Would certainly recommend this beautiful
home and I look forward to my next visit.

From the moment I contacted the Home of Compassion, I was struck by how helpful the staff were. There is an obvious caring culture at all levels and my father was made very welcome. Staff were really friendly and professional. Could not fault the care given and would highly recommend the home.

This home is absolutely stunning and in a wonderful location. The inside is light, airy and beautifully decorated and looks like a five star hotel. The bedrooms are beautiful and everything is spotlessly clean with a lovely choice of décor. The grounds are beautiful. Residents have lovely garden
furniture to sit outside and take in the stunning and tranquil scenery. I would also like to say that although I am a friend of one of the residents the Manager was extremely warm and friendly and made me feel very welcome indeed. Nothing was a bother and any questions or requests were dealt with perfectly. Caring staff.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.873)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.873) out of 10 for Thames View is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 28 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 28 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.873 for Thames View is calculated as follows: ( (292 Excellents x 5) + (38 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 332 Ratings = 4.873
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Thames View is based on 28 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 78 registered maximum number of service users is 15.6, which has been reached with 28 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Home Manager

I believe that our residents should be treated with the highest quality of care possible and endeavour to ensure that my team and I always maintain this, whilst making each day memorable.

I take a lot of pleasure from spending time with relatives and residents, understanding the important contribution that these relationships make to the successful running of our community.

I have worked in the hospitality sector my entire career and have had the opportunity of working and managing a large private hospital as well as amazing hotels. At Thames View, we are one big family, and everything we do is from the heart, delivering care with empathy and always being helpful to our residents and team for no other reason than to make a difference every day.
