Thames View

A great location in grand splendour on the River Thames. Staff are great and caring. Activities are wonderful and enjoyed by the residents. Everything is well maintained apart from the garden next to the car park. there are too many loose cobbles in the car park.

That really helped us knowing she was safe and sound and made many friends with residents and staff. Thank you for all you did for her.

I have been visiting at least fortnightly with Cedric my PAT (Pets as Therapy) dog from last Autumn. We both love visiting Thames View and we see residents both on East Wing who are generally more alert, even if physically challenged and also the dementia wing called Chapel side. Cedric was initially very subdued around the dementia residents but this has improved as he has got to know them.

I had a lovely room and view but regret the bed was very uncomfortable. It took some days for the nurses not to ask me if I was asleep when my light was out. The standard of food and choice excellent. Also people in charge of activities also excellent and would have liked more.

This was an excellent place to spend some respite care. The staff are friendly and supportive. The cooking of the food is very good but I felt the menus were not always suitable for the clientele. My room was luxurious but I did not find the hospital bed very comfortable. The best thing about the place is the staff - quick to respond, always smiling and fun to be with.

Mum moved to Thames View as her Alzheimers progressed to the point where she needed greater care. All the staff helped mum to settle in quickly and comfortably. The team ensured that she engaged in all relevant activities and worked tirelessly to keep her mentally engaged. Towards the end the team of carers and dieticians worked with the GP to adapt her care plan and facilitated food to suit mum's needs. At the end mum had super care provided professionally and with dignity. A lovely care home with lovely staff.

There is a feeling of kindness that runs throughout the home.

My mother spent four weeks at Thames View following a stroke. I can not fault the place. A beautiful location, stunning building and great facilities. But most of all it's the amazing staff who makes this place so special - the carers, the cleaners, the catering team, admin, reception and others. They couldn't have been more welcoming, kind, professional and considerate. It feels like a nice place to be, and I can't thank the staff enough for making a challenging time for our family easier to cope with.

My mother has now been at Thames View care home for the past year and in that time she has settled in well and is enjoying the home. The setting, in the banks of the river, and the gardens are lovely and give my mother a lot of pleasure. I have always found the staff to be polite and friendly and they offer a very high standard of care which is wonderful. Whilst she would prefer to still be living independently she understand that this is no longer possible and she is very happy at Thames View.

The staff at Thames View are skilled, kind, and warm. The building is beautiful, and the organisation of events and meals work really well for both residents and their visitors. The gardens are well maintained, and the activities on the Thames provide a wonderful view. The opportunity to eat lunch with residents is fabulous, and the organisation of residents' birthday parties is top class. I wholeheartedly recommend Thames View.

My cousin has been at Thames View for 7 years and is as happy now as she has ever been.

Since arrival at this carehome, I have been made very welcome & in the time both at home & in hospital become quite lonely. Thanks to activities & staff etc encouragement & participation in many activities have made as I feel many friends & enjoyed sometimes even forgetting my own illness & disposition. So I would like to thank all concerned & find myself very happy here.

My mother has just left Thames View after three weeks respite care because of an injury to her back. This is the second time she has been there for respite and again the wonderful caring staff have nursed her back to health enabling her to return to her home. The rooms are lovely and she really enjoyed the food. She was very well looked after and was back to her normal self very quickly. The two nurses that looked after her were amazing in helping to manage the pain in her back and treating an existing wound in her leg that wasn't getting any better until she went into Thames View and is now virtually healed thanks to their care. Thank you so much.

After 4 weeks in Thames View home, my Father sadly passed away. Whilst we were only able to visit him once a week, we always found him peaceful and pain-free. The staff always had time to talk to us and listen. Two staff members in particular were excellent. Each time we left after our visit, we knew my Father was in a safe environment and getting the care he needed. We couldn't have asked for anything more.

The staff at Thames View have been wonderful, helping my mother to be as comfortable as possible. They have exceeded my already high expectations and continue to care for her in a very personal and cheerful manner. The facilities and riverside views are a delight.

My stay at the home was excellent in that I had no pain and graduated to a walking frame and am now home and coping. Everyone was pleasant and helpful and the food was outstanding.

Since arriving at Thames View 15 months ago, my mother's physical and emotional health and general wellbeing has gone from strength to strength. This is testament to how well she is looked after. Following a long hospital stay and no longer able to walk, her independent life has profoundly changed but the genuine care she receives from all the staff at Thames View is excellent, from personal carers through to hospitality and well-being, all have shown such care for my mother. I really couldn't imagine her being anywhere else. The wonderful staff and the beautiful environment combine to create a very special place.
