I had a lovely room and view but regret the bed was very uncomfortable. It took some days for the nurses not to ask me if I was asleep when my light was out. The standard of food and choice excellent. Also people in charge of activities also excellent and would have liked more.

This was an excellent place to spend some respite care. The staff are friendly and supportive. The cooking of the food is very good but I felt the menus were not always suitable for the clientele. My room was luxurious but I did not find the hospital bed very comfortable. The best thing about the place is the staff - quick to respond, always smiling and fun to be with.

Mum moved to Thames View as her Alzheimers progressed to the point where she needed greater care. All the staff helped mum to settle in quickly and comfortably. The team ensured that she engaged in all relevant activities and worked tirelessly to keep her mentally engaged. Towards the end the team of carers and dieticians worked with the GP to adapt her care plan and facilitated food to suit mum's needs. At the end mum had super care provided professionally and with dignity. A lovely care home with lovely staff.

My brother arrived at the home after several weeks in hospital. This was his second stay. The first was July when he was virtually unable to walk. Within 4 weeks he was striding around with a walking stick.
In November he again, after a month in hospital went to Thames View this time to stay as a resident. They looked after him so well, give him attention, physiotherapy, had a hair cut, chiropody and his daily paper. The food was really good too, he said. He was happy there. Unfortunately he was readmitted to hospital early December and passed away.
The staff are all pleasant, take time to talk to visitors and resident alike.

There is a feeling of kindness that runs throughout the home.

Reply from Rowen Campbell, on behalf of the team at Thames View

We are so sorry for your loss. It was a privilege to be able to support your brother and we were delighted to see the progress he made and how happy he was at Thames View. Please let us know if there is ever anything more we can do to help, and thank you for your kind words.

My mother spent four weeks at Thames View following a stroke. I can not fault the place. A beautiful location, stunning building and great facilities. But most of all it's the amazing staff who makes this place so special - the carers, the cleaners, the catering team, admin, reception and others. They couldn't have been more welcoming, kind, professional and considerate. It feels like a nice place to be, and I can't thank the staff enough for making a challenging time for our family easier to cope with.

My mother has now been at Thames View care home for the past year and in that time she has settled in well and is enjoying the home. The setting, in the banks of the river, and the gardens are lovely and give my mother a lot of pleasure. I have always found the staff to be polite and friendly and they offer a very high standard of care which is wonderful. Whilst she would prefer to still be living independently she understand that this is no longer possible and she is very happy at Thames View.

My mother moved into Thames View as her prior care home could not manage her recently diagnosed Type 2 diabetes. She arrived at Thames View in a fragile state from hospital, and her health immediately started to improve due to the diligent nursing care, excellently coordinated with the local GP. I was very well supported by the senior leadership team at Thames View throughout the transition. Thereafter, the work of the nursing and care team ensured my mother's physical state improved, and she also received the appropriate mental stimulation to keep her engaged, although the passing of time meant the years finally caught up with her. Throughout time at Thames View, I was kept in touch with how things were going on a regular basis.

The staff at Thames View are skilled, kind, and warm. The building is beautiful, and the organisation of events and meals work really well for both residents and their visitors. The gardens are well maintained, and the activities on the Thames provide a wonderful view. The opportunity to eat lunch with residents is fabulous, and the organisation of residents' birthday parties is top class. I wholeheartedly recommend Thames View.

I was next of kin for a family friend who resided at the then Home of Compassion from October 2019 until recently. I was responsible for choosing the home so placed great importance throughout his stay on his whole experience of living there.
The staff were always very attentive and caring and treated his quirks with humour and warmth.
I found the management to be on the ball and aware of all that was going on. They were very good at keeping me informed.
I put his long stay until his death at the age of 99 down to the excellent care he was given.

I am extremely grateful for the care he was given.

My mother has just left Thames View after three weeks respite care because of an injury to her back. This is the second time she has been there for respite and again the wonderful caring staff have nursed her back to health enabling her to return to her home. The rooms are lovely and she really enjoyed the food. She was very well looked after and was back to her normal self very quickly. The two nurses that looked after her were amazing in helping to manage the pain in her back and treating an existing wound in her leg that wasn't getting any better until she went into Thames View and is now virtually healed thanks to their care. Thank you so much.

After 4 weeks in Thames View home, my Father sadly passed away. Whilst we were only able to visit him once a week, we always found him peaceful and pain-free. The staff always had time to talk to us and listen. Two staff members in particular were excellent. Each time we left after our visit, we knew my Father was in a safe environment and getting the care he needed. We couldn't have asked for anything more.

I had an excellent stay. I was admitted after 2 weeks in hospital after a fall which caused a chip on the pelvis which was very painful.

Since arriving at Thames View 15 months ago, my mother's physical and emotional health and general wellbeing has gone from strength to strength. This is testament to how well she is looked after. Following a long hospital stay and no longer able to walk, her independent life has profoundly changed but the genuine care she receives from all the staff at Thames View is excellent, from personal carers through to hospitality and well-being, all have shown such care for my mother. I really couldn't imagine her being anywhere else. The wonderful staff and the beautiful environment combine to create a very special place.
