My stay in Home of Compassion was wonderful I was convalescing after a spell in hospital and could not have been more welcome or received better care.

Fantastic team, fantastic venue! All of my expectations have been exceeded by the care that has been shown and the whole experience has been so professional. The activities offered are definitely of note as I didn’t think I would see my Aunt doing yoga or Zumba! Thank you all!

The team at Home of Compassion, really do have Compassion. They have looked after my mum so, so well, and it really shows in how much I have seen her improve. The surroundings are beautiful, and the staff are all so caring and warm, I know my mum is well looked after here.

Thank you so much to all the team at Home of Compassion for looking after my Granny. As a family, we were so reluctant at first to put her into care, but from our initial enquiry to looking around the home and then deciding on a shortlist, the team at Home of Compassion could not have been more professional,
caring, helpful or informative. We are so put at ease knowing how well Granny has been looked after and that everyone cares for her so well.

Following a serious fall and surgery to repair a fractured femur, it was recommended that my wife (71) who suffers from Alzheimer’s Disease should convalesce in a first class care home under the supervision of an appropriately experienced physiotherapist. Our enquiries suggested that the Home of Compassion
was such a place and we were proved right. A couple of months after becoming a temporary resident there, wheelchair bound and fearful of the very painful business of attempting to stand, yesterday she reluctantly bade the home a fully mobile farewell. Thanks to the encouragement and support of a superb team of carers, a talented physio, outstanding nurses and a vigilant management team, she found the motivation and determination to walk freely and independently without the aid of a walking stick or frame. The Home of Compassion employs very special people devoted to selflessly caring for others. Drawing on the best in themselves, they bring out the best in those they care for.

I cannot thank the staff at this home enough for the wonderful care they have given to my father. It's such a weight off our families mind to know he is cared for so well in such a beautiful environment. From the management down to the cleaning staff. Everyone is superb, professional and very caring.

Wonderful BBQ laid on by Home Of Compassion. A lot of work for the manager and all staff and much appreciated by our Mother and all her family who were invited. We very much look forward to the next event at the home to which the family are invited.

My Great Aunt had a fall in Jan '21 that put her in and out of hospital for a month, then into the Home of Compassion with an amazing river facing room as a private paying resident. The Deputy Manager has tailored the care required during my Great Aunt's stay over the last couple of months and her dedication
has been amazing. The team have ensured wrap around care for a very demanding independent lady. I've been very impressed with the service and have had good feedback.

My father was cared for by the Home of Compassion for 14 months from October 2019, a combination of Respite care and Early-Onset Dementia care. It was clear from his interactions with staff whenever I or my brothers visited that Dad enjoyed chatting and being cared for by the staff. They were very kind.
It is a wonderful building with some grand designs and top views of the river right behind. Recommend it!

Our father was a resident in the home for over a year and having come from a partially supported environment in his house to a completely supported establishment, he gained a new lease of life.
We have found the staff at the Home of Compassion to be very helpful and committed to helping residents
to enjoy their days and we have enjoyed seeing Dad taking pleasure from being surrounded by cheerful company and eating good food throughout the day, which is something he puts great importance on.
It is an elegant property and the rooms and public areas impressed us with their comfort and style when we visited and we were made to feel very welcome. The management were very accommodating in their approach to organising his care and needs, and Dad felt great fondness for many of the staff. He chose to participate in only some of the activities that they arrange but enjoyed spending time with other residents. We are so pleased we chose the Home for him.

My wife and I have been residents of Home of Compassion since June last year, 06/06/2020. The standard of security and safety, particularly during this period is first class. We have a fulltime maintenance crew who ensure all things are safe or need repairs. Good quick service. There are a number of
activities most days for the residents to participate. Visitors are welcome and provided with refreshments at no charge. Children are made welcome. Present circumstances prevailing.

The care my mother received during her last 6 months was exemplary. The staff at Home of Compassion are particularly gifted. My mother wanted for nothing. She was constantly monitored. She said to me she felt safe and secure. It was a very difficult time for me and my sisters and the staff were sensitive
to us as well. My mother's death was truly beautiful and if not for the care and attention the staff gave us, it would not have been. A+++

When I needed the home, it was here for me. I know the home will be here when I need it again. The staff gave me confidence and got me back up on my feet. It's been a difficult time with Covid, my family were concerned, however, I found an extended family at the Home of Compassion. My wife died at the
home, we had been together for 56 years, the home brings me closer to my wife.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.878)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.878) out of 10 for Thames View is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 29 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 29 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.878 for Thames View is calculated as follows: ( (305 Excellents x 5) + (36 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 344 Ratings = 4.878
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Thames View is based on 29 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 78 registered maximum number of service users is 15.6, which has been reached with 29 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
