At Thames View, staff are dedicated to providing the highest level of residential, nursing and dementia care for up to 78 elderly residents, including trial stays, short stays, convalescent care and long-term care for individuals or couples.

Thames View is a Grade II* listed building boasting many late 18th Century and early 19th Century interior features. Originally designed as a beautiful mansion, the magnificent property has grand interiors and spacious rooms. The home has been refurbished into a luxury care home with the highest quality finishes; upgraded and added to whilst retaining its former glory. The luxurious home is set in delightful surroundings in the heart of Thames Ditton, with beautiful views over the River Thames.

Residents are encouraged to bring important personal possessions to personalise their rooms and the home operates an open visiting policy, where residents and loved ones may visit at convenient times for them.

Their own dementia training means that staff are well equipped to meet the needs of residents living with dementia. From designing an engaging environment and planning relevant activities to creating meals that offer a much-improved dining experience for residents living with dementia or dysphagia, every aspect of care has been carefully thought through at Thames View.

Following a serious fall and surgery to repair a fractured femur, it was recommended that my wife (71) who suffers from Alzheimer’s Disease should convalesce in a first class care home under the supervision of an appropriately experienced physiotherapist. Our enquiries suggested that the Home of Compassion
was such a place and we were proved right. A couple of months after becoming a temporary resident there, wheelchair bound and fearful of the very painful business of attempting to stand, yesterday she reluctantly bade the home a fully mobile farewell. Thanks to the encouragement and support of a superb team of carers, a talented physio, outstanding nurses and a vigilant management team, she found the motivation and determination to walk freely and independently without the aid of a walking stick or frame. The Home of Compassion employs very special people devoted to selflessly caring for others. Drawing on the best in themselves, they bring out the best in those they care for.

Wonderful home by the river. Fabulous facilities and the care team are all amazing. Always spotless so well done to the housekeeping team. My aunt is extremely happy there and sats the food is delicious. She can't fault it. I would recommend this home in a heartbeat.

I cannot thank the staff at this home enough for the wonderful care they have given to my father. It's such a weight off our families mind to know he is cared for so well in such a beautiful environment. From the management down to the cleaning staff. My Great Aunt had a fall in Jan '21 that put her in and out of hospital for a month, then into the Home of Compassion with an amazing river facing room as a private paying resident. The Deputy Manager has tailored the care required during my Great Aunt's stay over the last couple of months and her dedication
has been amazing. The team have ensured wrap around care for a very demanding independent lady. I've been very impressed with the service and have had good feedback.

My father was cared for by the Home of Compassion for 14 months from October 2019, a combination of Respite care and Early-Onset Dementia care. It was clear from his interactions with staff whenever I or my brothers visited that Dad enjoyed chatting and being cared for by the staff. They were very kind.
It is a wonderful building with some grand designs and top views of the river right behind. Recommend it!

Our father was a resident in the home for over a year and having come from a partially supported environment in his house to a completely supported establishment, he gained a new lease of life.
We have found the staff at the Home of Compassion to be very helpful and committed to helping residents
to enjoy their days and we have enjoyed seeing Dad taking pleasure from being surrounded by cheerful company and eating good food throughout the day, which is something he puts great importance on.
It is an elegant property and the rooms and public areas impressed us with their comfort and style when we visited and we were made to feel very welcome. The management were very accommodating in their approach to organising his care and needs, and Dad felt great fondness for many of the staff. He chose to participate in only some of the activities that they arrange but enjoyed spending time with other residents. We are so pleased we chose the Home for him.

I have been a resident for the last three years. The home has good facilities and excellent nursing care when necessary, comfortable and pleasant accommodation.
Staff are cheerful, friendly and caring. There is good contact with staff and management. The activities are excellent, much improved over
the last few months. Outdoor facilities and situation of the home are pleasant. Good walks in gardens by the river.

My wife and I have been residents of Home of Compassion since June last year, 06/06/2020. The standard of security and safety, particularly during this period is first class. We have a fulltime maintenance crew who ensure all things are safe or need repairs. Good quick service. There are a number of
activities most days for the residents to participate. Visitors are welcome and provided with refreshments at no charge. Children are made welcome. Present circumstances prevailing.

The care my mother received during her last 6 months was exemplary. The staff at Home of Compassion are particularly gifted. My mother wanted for nothing. She was constantly monitored. She said to me she felt safe and secure. It was a very difficult time for me and my sisters and the staff were sensitive
to us as well. My mother's death was truly beautiful and if not for the care and attention the staff gave us, it would not have been. A+++

When I needed the home, it was here for me. I know the home will be here when I need it again. The staff gave me confidence and got me back up on my feet. It's been a difficult time with Covid, my family were concerned, however, I found an extended family at the Home of Compassion. My wife died at the
home, we had been together for 56 years, the home brings me closer to my wife.

From our initial appointment with the Director of Nursing, and for the past three months, I have always found a friendly, warm and relaxed atmosphere throughout this beautiful home. All levels of staff, in very smart uniforms where appropriate, are always extremely caring and helpful in a dignified
way.
The residents' rooms are beautifully decorated and furnished. The catering/food is excellent and thoughtfully presented. The conservatory and garden - comfortably laid out furniture with lovely, well kept garden views.

I take a lot of pleasure from spending time with relatives and residents, understanding the important contribution that these relationships make to the successful running of our community.


I have worked in the hospitality sector my entire career and have had the opportunity to work and manage a large private hospital as well as amazing hotels. My previous experience means that I can therefore provide a service to our residents, families, guests, and colleagues, which is the highlight of my day.


At Thames View, we are one big family and everything we do is from the heart, delivering care with empathy and always being helpful to our residents and team for no other reason than to make a difference every day.


My biggest achievement is my family and I appreciate how supportive they are of what I do as I work away from home. It’s been lovely to see and explore Thames Ditton as the area is amazing and it is important that our home is part of our local community. I am a keen traveller, love cruising and holidaying, as well as countryside walks and am passionate about life, making every day count while making memories.”
