I found the service and staff very kind and considerate. The room was very spacious and light with plenty of drawer space and hanging space. The bed was good for the back. Food was excellent, very unusual, but tasty. I could recommend Thames View to anyone needing respite after illness or a hospital stay.

Thames View Care Home is a beautiful period property set next to the river, the environment created by the amazing care team is both professional and relaxed from all sides. The nursing team are very dedicated and hold very high standards. The carers all have a wonderful attitude towards their residents' care needs, always smiling, hard-working and thoughtful. The catering and house management team are excellent and well-presented.

I have lived here for 2.5 years arriving during the pandemic. It is exactly the type of care home I wished to be. Living in Thames View means that I was familiar with attending BBQs and garden parties, I just walked in and asked if I could stay (I had stayed for one week after an op on my knee). The care and activities are first-class and interesting. Our visitors are made welcome (and fed!). Most of them have asked when can they move in! Please continue to keep the excellent standard but don't price yourselves out of the market.

My father passed away in the residence, and I feel that it was the most comfortable and compassionate situation that could have happened. The nursing staff were friends of both him and me and gave me enormous support in helping him through the last days.

It might have changed its name, but the home of 'compassion' it is still. From the grandeur of the main house to the simpler but still respectful Chapel, everything exudes compassion; from the nursing staff who are kind and efficient, the hospitality team who live up to their name, the activities coordinator who always has a smile to the thoughtful carers; everything is done with compassion and respect for the residents. After their clinical needs are taken care of because that is the forefront of your care plan, your individuality is left to thrive, with everyone's likes, dislikes, fancies and foibles catered for and painstakingly remembered by the staff. From the bustling bistro with its Saturday morning games of bingo and afternoon music concerts with talented guest singers, to the serene and quiet garden with its wonderful views, compassion remains at the heart of the home that was formerly named as such and now resides under its new but just as accurate name, Thames View.

My dad spent around three months in the Thames View Nursing Home, although when he first went in it was called the Home of Compassion. This was a highly suitable name as all the staff I encountered such as receptionists, managers, nursing staff, and care staff all acted with great compassion. Dad was looked after in a very caring and professional manner. I also noticed that, as visitors, my mum and I were treated extremely warmly.

A very close family friend has lived in Thames View for the past 18 months. The care she was given was excellent - warm, friendly and professional. We could not fault the home on any level, it is beautiful and very well maintained and the staff are incredible, so helpful and they treat their clients and us the visitors with warmth and respect, always so welcoming. The range of entertainment is varied and inclusive and there are many other activities available. I would not hesitate to recommend Thames View, it is really a lovely place with a happy and comfortable environment.

I selected the Home of Compassion for my cousin by analysis of local care homes. My confidence was not misplaced. Its beautiful riverside location, characterful building, and the attitude of its staff are exemplary. In particular, the general manager, his deputy, and the activities manager have given fantastic support throughout her residence. She got so engrossed in the wide range of interesting activities, she asked my family not to phone, or arrive to take her out in the afternoons, without making an appointment with her first, as she was so busy with them! Sadly, before Christmas, she became unwell, subsequently passing away in hospital. The staff could not have been more supportive since. We are looking forward to a memorial event for her at the Home in February. She made many new friends and the last year of her life has been very happy there. I would recommend this Home without any hesitation whatsoever to others seeking a caring environment for their relative.

There aren't enough words to describe how amazing The Home of Compassion was to my mum, where she spent the last two weeks of her life. Mum had mixed dementia, which deteriorated suddenly and rapidly whilst in hospital three weeks prior. We were so lucky that there was a room available and the home was able to take her quickly. The home itself is stunning, and although Mum didn't leave her room it was a lovely environment for us, and Dad and I were looked after really well too. Mum's room was lovely and we were able to put pictures up and make it homely. As it was close to Christmas we put up a little tree and played Christmas carols on the radio. The team under the managers was amazing, and the dementia carers and nurses were all so kind, patient, and compassionate, with one carer even singing to her to encourage her to swallow. The last words Mum said to me was that she was happy, and that sums it up beautifully.

Mum's care at the Home of Compassion was excellent and her carers and medical staff attentive, considerate and friendly. Despite physical disabilities and a degree of dementia, Mum always said she was happy there and became a fixture with the staff, known, and now missed, by all. I was a regular visitor and saw for myself how much she was valued as part of the community and how much she was appreciated and cared for.

Lovely room, very caring and helpful staff. The food was generally good with a choice but the suppers were sometimes disappointing; sprouts were always overcooked.

I rate the Home of Compassion very highly and if I need respite care in the future I would happily come again.

Stayed here after major heart surgery as I still felt I needed support after hospital discharge. The staff were extremely attentive and responsive - which gave great peace of mind - e.g. managing the medication routine, regularly checking in, etc.

My mother initially was at the home for respite care but then became a permanent resident in January 2023. Her two principal carers were great with Mum and she was very well looked after by the whole team. After contracting pneumonia and three weeks in hospital, Mum returned to her room for end-of-life care but she responded to the attention given by the team and rallied briefly to have valuable time with me and my sister and her grandchildren. Thank you Home of Compassion.

We were very impressed and thankful to both the manager and deputy manager for facilitating our exit from hospital efficiently and as quickly as possible.

I believe that our residents should be treated with the highest quality of care possible and endeavour to ensure that my team and I always maintain this, whilst making each day memorable.

I take a lot of pleasure from spending time with relatives and residents, understanding the important contribution that these relationships make to the successful running of our community.

I have worked in the hospitality sector my entire career and have had the opportunity of working and managing a large private hospital as well as amazing hotels.
