As I live alone, I stayed for 2 weeks only to recover from a full replacement knee operation and received very satisfactory care and attention from the staff which hastened my recovery.

I have visited the home quite a few times now I can honestly say every time is a joy. Staff are always smiling and residents are happy, relaxed and sociable. The home is really focused on the residents and their families and those extra little homely touches shine through. Whether it’s movie night in the cinema room, afternoon tea and cake in the dining room, or cuddles with little Berol the chihuahua, there is a warmth to this place which is far removed from the clinical environment you might get elsewhere. So much so, that I find it quite hard to leave after each visit!

My mother stayed for two weeks for respite. Staff were amazing and made her very welcome. Mum suffers from dementia so any change can be a challenge. However, everyone showed kindness and professionalism when dealing with her. They made her welcome and felt safe.

She will be going in for respite again and when asked if she was happy to do so she said 'I will look forward to seeing my friends again as I have missed them'. That is a glowing report and makes me happy to place her there again.

I have to say that the manager was fantastic. You always felt you could talk to her about anything and she always found time to sit and talk to the residents and their family.

My Father spent 18 months at Ferrars Hall, after it became clear he could no longer live alone. Moving him to Ferrars Hall was the best thing we could have done for him. We would give Ferrars Hall the highest recommendation in all of the 'standard' criteria, but would add to this the kindness and genuine affection shown to my father by the staff. We were very confident that he was well looked after but in addition to this, he regarded Ferrars Hall as his home and the staff as his extended family.

We will always be grateful for this.

My family are pleased with the care our 93-year-old mum is receiving. All the staff, both management and carers, are very friendly and thoughtful. Mum is treated with respect and dignity as she cannot do anything for herself. The facilities are excellent, clean and well maintained.

The staff (both the Management and Carers) are very thoughtful and friendly and go out of their way to make this home a very pleasant and comfortable place to live. At times the staff seem very stretched and under pressure, but on the whole, it has never let this reflect on the way they treat the residents.

My family have been very pleased with the way my mother has settled down, particularly as she was very averse to the idea of living in a Care Home. It is a very pleasant environment, tastefully decorated and thoughtfully planned out.

A very welcoming atmosphere. Extremely friendly staff who appear kind and thoughtful to all residents. More like a 5-star hotel than a residential home. Highly recommended if you are looking for a care home for a loved one.

Overall Experience
After my dad went into Ferrars Hall at the beginning of April 2017 the family have been extremely happy with the quality of care and support that he has received from all members of staff. After initial reservations about putting my dad into a care home, it has been a much easier transition and pleasant experience than expected. My dad is so happy in Ferrars Hall and it has taken away the vast stresses and responsibilities that the family faced having 24hr live in care in his own home. All staff are very attentive and caring and the staff all provide a relaxed and happy environment for the residents and their families. They make time for everybody.
The interior reminds us all of a 5-star hotel. The food is excellent (dad is very happy with the choices!), there are numerous activities that take place every day and it is spotlessly clean which is important.

We are very happy with dad's progress and wellbeing since he has been at Ferrars Hall. Thanks very much to everyone!

I came, reluctantly, for respite care having never been in a care home before. I am really surprised to find that I have enjoyed myself enormously. Every one of the staff has been caring, kind and fun. I have felt that I am important to them and they always have time when I know they must be busy. My family have been pleased to see how well cared for I am which has put their minds at rest.
The facilities are 2nd to none and everywhere is spotlessly clean and well maintained. There is a full schedule of activities and lots going on if you want to partake.
The food is lovely and plentiful and seems to be all made on site.
The company is good as well and there is always someone for a chat.

Overall my experience has been a good and happy one and so much better than I could've imagined so I heartily recommend them. I told my husband that I should come for respite care regularly and he thinks it is to give him a rest but really it is so I can have a holiday!

The attention to detail and care which has been provided to my parents has been exceptional. The carers are extremely attentive and treat them with the utmost respect. We have christened Ferrars Hall "the care hotel". For my parents, it's like being in a 5-star hotel with care on hand 24 hours a day. They are never without a drink by their side and all their needs are met without questions or fuss. All the staff are amazing.

My Mum has been in Ferrars Hall for nearly 3 weeks now, we transferred her from another care home. On our first visit, my brother and I were impressed with the welcome from the manager and staff and of course the interior which is like a 5* hotel. We took Mum for a visit and during her assessment, the carer had time and patience with Mum, and spoke directly to her and made her feel special. Their ethos of each resident being individual clearly came across. Of course the proof of the pudding..........and it hasn't disappointed. I cannot praise the home enough in all aspects. The carers make time to interact with the residents. Even one of the male carers put Mum's makeup on for her when Mum didn't feel like doing it. They make sure she is coordinated in her dress and that is what Mum likes and put on her jewellery for her. All of which helps Mum feeling good about herself. She is encouraged at meal times to eat, she hasn't got a large appetite. The staff are genuinely caring.

Mum has been at Ferrars Hall for 6 months now and the standard of care she receives is excellent. She is now happy to sit in the resident's lounge and participate in the various activities. Her food is tailored to her specific needs and help is readily on hand to help her eat. I especially like to see the carers having time to spend with individuals for a chat or a wander around the building with them, to me this is a very important aspect of caring which is sadly missing in many residential homes. It is comforting to see Mum happy and well cared for in what can only be described as five-star facilities and I have already recommended the facilities to a friend with regards to her grandmother

Mum was struggling to look after herself and took respite care in another residential home whilst we reviewed options for a permanent home for her. We brought Mum to look round Ferrars Hall and she was immediately made to feel welcome and the staff there at the time took time to speak with her and explain things. She had a few tears - happy tears - and decided there and then that she would like to live there and chose her room.

Its still quite early days since Mum moved into Ferrars Hall, however she appears to have settled in well, has made new friends and is getting her "spark" back. Being looked after so well, in a lovely environment, with company her own age is making a real difference to her.
