Although living with dementia my Mum had been able - with support - to continue living alone until she fell and broke an ankle. When it became apparent that she could no longer live alone safely we needed to find a suitable place for her to move to where she could be comfortable, safe and secure. We found Fairmile Grange. From the first phone call, to a tour at virtually no notice, to Mum moving in we have been impressed by the level of friendliness, care and support shown to her. Her room is nicely located and newly decorated. It wouldn't be fair to highlight individuals, but every member of staff we've met has seemed to know who Mum is and why she's there. There's a plan in place - reviewed regularly - to help with her rehabilitation and everything about the care feels "right". And the fees seem fair. Based on our experience with Mum I'd happily recommend Fairmile Grange as a safe place to provide care to a loved one.

My father has been living at Fairmile Grange and I cannot speak highly enough of the care & kindness shown by every member of staff.
Dad moved in, in July & the team have treated my father with genuine warmth, and respect. They take the time to know him as a person, not just a resident, and this has made a huge difference to his wellbeing and happiness. In fact the Wellbeing Team are a tremendous asset ! My Dad loves taking part in the singing and dancing which he loves. As his daughter, it gives me peace of mind knowing he is safe, comfortable and cared for so thoughtfully.Choosing a care home is never easy, but Fairmile Grange has exceeded our expectations in every way. Excellant care home with vast improvements with the addition of Jane taking over the management of the facilities a few months ago. She really has steadied the ship and has a wonderful team of staff behind her. They are all very caring and attentive to the residents needs. I watch them regularly...
Excellant care home with vast improvements with the addition of Jane taking over the management of the facilities a few months ago. She really has steadied the ship and has a wonderful team of staff behind her. They are all very caring and attentive to the residents needs. I watch them regularly interreacting and knowing all the residents by name and showing respect and dignity. My father has Alzeimers and complex needs which are always met from the smiling team. A special shout out to Jainey our nurse on floor one, but the whole team really deserves a shout out. Plenty of entertainment is on offer for those wishing to partake. The home is light and airy and has a tireless team keeping it clean. Thank you for giving us as a family the peace of mind that Dad is receiving the best care.

My Mum has Recently become a Resident at Fairmile Grange and all I can say is WOW what a Difference Myself and my Husband has seen in her. She is being well looked after by all the Staff Members and is really enjoying herself the Activities I'm sure where made for her! as she loves Music and Joins in the Singing and Piano. She is There as a Permanent Resident after Living with Ourselves for a long time she has vascular Dementia and she has settled down so well the staff cannot do enough they are so kind and considerate towards her it gives me peace of mind knowing she is happy and safe.

Mum stayed for respite twice this year. Although her dementia is probably progressing, she is still able to do her own personal care but needs support with most other daily tasks. The staff were friendly and obliging, and Mum loved her stay here. Thank you to all the staff at Fairmile Grange.

My mum has been a resident since November 2023, she went initially on a short-term basis when her husband was taken ill, unfortunately, he passed away a few weeks later. We had no hesitation in making her care there permanent after the way they had looked after her over the initial 3 weeks. Mum has dementia and balance issues. The staff are so friendly to everyone and in a very short space of time, they all seem to know her by name. She has had subsequent falls and she has been well looked after both medically and emotionally. We all live far away but the staff contact us if anything has happened and keep us updated at all times. It is a great peace of mind for us all. There are plenty of activities every day, but no pressure is put on residents to attend. Mum is always asked and she picks and chooses what she does. She has already made good friends there. I try to go as regular as I can and the staff are always happy to sit down with me and discuss how she has been since my last visit.

Overall the care my wife is receiving is very good and she seems to be settled living in Fairmile Grange. There have been times when she has been left either without a drink or very little drink when I have visited, this needs to improve.

Residents who are fluids-challenged have fluid intake charts in place for staff to monitor their intake. Staff ensure all our residents have a call bell at reach for them to summon help if needed, and all residents are checked regularly to ensure their safety, comfort, and well-being. However, if you have any concerns about the care of your loved one, my door is always open. Please come and find me anytime, or alternatively, you can make an appointment through reception, and I would be more than happy to discuss, and hopefully alleviate, any worries that you might have.

As such, we have asked our housekeeping team to double-check every room’s ensuite and curtains to ensure that any issues have already been rectified. Mum is treated with respect and the nursing staff and the wellbeing ladies regularly go out of their way to take Mum out on trips. Her appetite has returned, but when it was poor, one lovely staff member, in particular, shared her takeaway in order to get Mum eating. 10/10.

Prior to becoming deputy manager at Fairmile Grange, Zoe was a project coordinator supporting a group of care homes and their managers and staff, helping them to utilise their care planning systems and helping them to improve quality and care standards within their homes by delivering hands-on training and developing resources for all roles using electronic care planning systems.

Jayne brings over 30 years of experience in health and social care and a depth of knowledge that spans almost every corner of the sector. Her career has taken her across adult and children’s services, giving her a wonderfully broad perspective and a strong belief that great care always starts with truly understanding people.
Jayne has worked across nursing and residential care, brain injury hospitals and rehabilitation, physical disability, dementia, learning disabilities, autism, children’s homes, and housing with care and support. This wide-ranging experience means she understands the challenges services face — and how to support teams to deliver safe, compassionate and high-quality care in even the most complex settings.
Throughout her career, Jayne has held senior leadership roles including Regional Manager, Quality Advisor, Quality Manager, and Head of Quality & Improvement.
