The welcome received, the expert care and dedication of all the staff were exceptional and given in a lovely atmosphere. We could not have found a better home to be in and when visiting the same care was extended to us and cannot thank the staff enough.

From the moment we set foot in the door at Fairmile Grange, we were welcomed so warmly - and this has only grown the more times we have visited. Mum and Dad arrived at Fairmile almost a year ago, and for every step of the journey over the last 11 months, staff at Fairmile have been there - nothing too much trouble - everything carried out with compassion, care - and genuine affection.

Sadly my Dad passed away just before Christmas this year and the strengths of Fairmile’s staff came through even stronger. They have provided a remarkable 'safety net' of support to the whole family that is hard to describe - and this continues daily with love and support for Mum. She is never alone and from someone who never wanted to be in a nursing home, she now says she would like to stay as everyone is so good and kind and she feels ‘safe’ - they are her friends. What more can we say but thank you to everyone at Fairmile Grange.

The facilities and staff provide a service that is second to none. A truly outstanding care home where my parents have received very homely, warm and friendly nursing care. The staff are not only very professional but also are more like good friends to my parents.

Sadly we lost Dad in December. I cannot speak more highly of the compassionate and excellent way everyone, including the manageress, handled our loss. Mum remains settled in the home and refers to the staff as her "lovely friends".

My Dad stayed in Fairmile Grange for 3 weeks to allow my Mum to have a rest as she normally is his fulltime carer. The home was like home. We were all made to feel welcome. My Dad was very well cared for, he enjoyed the lovely food, homely atmosphere and joined in with the well-being activities that were really well done. Would definitely use this service again and have already recommended Fairmile Grange to friends who might need it for a loved one.

This review has been completed after full discussion with my husband who was a resident at Fairmile Grange. The staff at Fairmile Grange were kind and caring but there were too few. Staff changed often so there was poor continuity of care. A full and delicious breakfast finishing at 10am. lunch arrived around 12 midday and supper at 5pm meant that all meals were served within a 7 hour time frame. The timing of meals could be delayed to give a better time gap. Serving of hot meals on ice cold plates is not appetising.

Thank you very much for your comments. We enjoyed having your husband stay with us and were all so pleased with the progress he made whilst in our care. Thank you for rating many aspects of Fairmile Grange as being good or excellent. Our residents’ wellbeing and care is our priority. We only...

My husband was a resident for nearly a year and I was so happy he was in such a lovely home.
The staff were all so kind and caring and he was always clean and smart. Someone was always there if he needed help.

Sadly he became ill in March and passed away in April. He was treated with dignity in his last days, with kindness and care, and everyone was so kind to me at that sad time too.

I can't speak highly enough of Fairmile Grange. My husband was welcomed warmly into a lovely room, ready for all his needs, and at once he felt that he had reached home. All the staff spoke English perfectly and used to tease him when he made a mistake. Someone would pop in to see he was comfortable. In spite of being incontinent, he was always clean. When unable to feed himself, he was fed while being told a story, and a song was sung while his pyjamas and undersheet were changed. He was so happy there and never asked us to take him. I am so grateful to all the staff.

I cannot express how grateful my mother and I are that my father was able to have a room in Fairmile Grange. He received all the medical and pastoral care that his condition necessitated but far more than this, he expressed how happy he was and how he loved everyone who cared for him. The staff really do care and could not have done more to make my dad comfortable and content and my mother and I were always made very welcome. We also appreciated the excellent communication between the home and us so that we were aware of my dad's progress. Thank you so much.

My father sustained a head injury from a fall and before coming home from hospital, he spent 2 weeks at Fairmile Grange where he could recuperate.
It is a lovely new home with excellent facilities, large ensuite rooms with a pleasant outlook over the gardens.
The staff are extremely friendly and attentive and always on hand to give encouragement.
They are enthusiastic and clearly enjoy their work.
Eating well is an important part of getting better and the food was most impressive.
A good selection of choices and nicely presented.

Should the need arise we would definitely use Fairmile Grange again, for this reason, we would strongly recommend it to others.

In the comparatively short time, my wife has been a resident at the Grange. I can say with all sincerity the care has been outstanding. All the staff I have met over the last five weeks seem to be a very dedicated team, particularly impressed how from the first week they were addressing my wife by her christian name and showed genuine warmth and patience in respect of the care needed.

Very pleased with the care and attention my husband and I received at Fairmile Grange. Having just returned from eleven weeks in Salisbury hospital where we had lost a lot of weight and muscle tone. Whilst at Fairmile Grange he gained half a stone in weight enjoying excellent breakfasts and lunch but felt there could be more choices at evening meals.

Fairmile Grange is an excellent care home. This is the fourth family member I have placed in a care home and compared to the rest Fairmile Grange is outstanding. From the management, staff including carers, cleaners, chefs everyone carries out their duties in a very professional manner. Fairmile Grange, without doubt, is the best care home in Christchurch if not the whole of Dorset.

Fairmile Grange is a lovely care home who have looked after my mum so well. The staff are wonderful and caring- they bend over backwards to accommodate mum and her wishes. As it is so new all the rooms are beautifully furnished with ensuites. A massive thank you to one lady who has sorted out so much for us and listened on many an occasion when I have been upset about mum’s illness.

My Mum spent the last two weeks of her life here, after discharge from hospital. She was well cared for, with great respect and dignity. The surroundings are bright, cheerful and immaculately clean. However, even more importantly, all the staff, from cleaners, carers, nurses to administrators, were skilful and very kind. When I rang for information they would always go out of their way to find the person I needed to talk to, even if they were not immediately to hand. Thank you to all at Fairmile Grange for making the last few weeks of my Mum's life as good as it could have been.

My only slight criticism is that the bed was rather narrow and my Mum was prone to turning over and almost falling out, which she did actually do on one occasion, as bed guards were considered inappropriate due to her condition.

Mum moved into Fairmile Grange from another care home early in September and has settled in well. Already the family have seen a vast improvement in her. Mum seems a lot calmer and happier to be there. The home is well organised with friendly, well-trained staff. Each resident appears to be well cared for in a kind, professional manner. Nothing is too much trouble. Whenever we visit we leave knowing mum is in the best place.

A brilliant home with caring, engaging staff. My father-in-law needed urgent respite care and the team at Fairmile Grange exceeded all expectations. It must be scary going somewhere where everything is new but the team made sure dad joined in with all the activities and kept a careful eye on him whilst he settled in. Excellent rooms and wonderful catering make this a luxurious place to stay but most of all the genuine care given to all residents by the staff is exceptional. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Fairmile Grange for either respite or permanent stays.

I am very happy with the care my wife is receiving. The home is light, airy and more like a hotel than a nursing home. The staff are all friendly and cheerful. I find their support very helpful and reassuring.

The home has a relaxed atmosphere about it - not like an institution.
