There has been a remarkable change in the home, and a very positive attitude has been created. The management is now very hands on and this is shown in the new eagerness of the staff, who seem to be enjoying the job more. There is a definite 'buzz' about the place, which I am sure will be taken in by
the residents and relations. Very pleasing and uplifting! Thank you.

I visited my aunt recently at Calderdale Retreat, I was pleasantly surprised to find such a lovely calm atmosphere compared to my last visit. It seemed very obvious the new manager has already had a very positive impact on the home in such a short time.


It was a pleasure being in the home. All the

residents seemed happy and looked clean and presentable. My aunt said she is very happy and had nothing but praise for the new manager.


The new manager introduced herself, she was very friendly and obviously very experienced in her role. I felt very at ease when I left my aunt today knowing she is being well cared for.


I would highly recommend a visit to Calderdale Retreat if you are wanting a home for your loved one.

I have been a Nurse since 1985 and did my training as an RGN in London. I then travelled to Australia and worked as a nurse on an orthopedic ward for a year. I then trained as a midwife in 1990 and went to Saudi as a midwife for five years. I worked as a midwife until 2006 when I took a break from midwifery to look after my autistic son. In 2015, I started working as a nurse in a nursing home and quickly became Home Manager until 2020. In 2020, I started at Bright Meadows as Clinical Lead and have worked there ever since consolidating my experience.
