Lostock Lodge Care Home

Mum was taken into Lostock Lodge originally as respite during the pandemic but ended up staying as a resident for the last 4 years. From the very beginning when we had to leave Mum at the reception, the staff were incredibly patient and caring, explaining to us what they would do to help Mum and took their time to make sure we were happy with everything they did. Whenever we visit, staff are taking care of Mum, giving her hugs and taking time to talk to her and we are fully reassured that she is receiving the best care possible. When she began to decline, we were told immediately and the staff always make sure we are fully informed of any changes in treatment or medication. We were very nervous about releasing Mum from our care but we know she is getting A-star class care at Lostock, from staff who know Mum and her condition better than we do, and provide the care, understanding and patience she needs, probably better than we could. A fantastic team all round, thank you, Lostock.

Staff fully engage with the residents and understand that each person is an individual and has different care and support needs. Excellent home.

It has taken a couple of years for me as a relative to feel listened to. My mum is unable to make her views clear and needs support in all areas of her care. I now feel she is very well looked after. The food is excellent and mum has put on weight. The wellbeing team are now active and tries and provide a wide range of activities. The staff know Mum’s needs and are so friendly and approachable. They have not only given mum support but I’m given support too from some of the staff. It isn’t easy being a relative going to see your loved one and I do feel this is an area that still needs more understanding. Everyone has different experiences with the care their loved ones receive and I do feel that at times I’ve had to chase things up more than I should have done especially when it comes to more personal care and care plans being updated. Very little interaction with the manager but care staff, hospitality and housekeeping are excellent.

Mum who has vascular dementia aged 94 is so well cared for, it gives us peace of mind. After a recent fall and visit to the hospital, the care staff do their best to keep her moving and as independent as possible. The attention to detail regarding her independence I cannot fault. The kindness shown by all the staff here is remarkable considering the challenges dementia brings. We as a family feel very supported.

They keep me informed of any issues about my mum.

Always a welcome when we come to the home. The home is always in an immaculate condition. The residents always look cared for and are kept clean. Senior care staff are always available to discuss any questions.

A big thank you to all the staff (caring, managerial, hostesses, activity staff etc.) at Lostock Lodge Care Home, Cheshire for the thoughtful, kind, patient care of both my mum and dad while in their care over the past 2 years in such a lovely home. Also for making myself and all my family so welcome and eventually well-supported during my parents' final weeks. Will be back to visit and stay in touch.

We have recently lost our beloved friend, the staff are absolutely amazing, nothing was too much trouble if we asked for anything. The end-of-life care my friend received was outstanding, and the dignity of my friend remained intact at all times. The Manager was very understanding and informative and went out of her way to keep us informed even outside of working hours, Lostock Lodge is an outstanding retirement home, would recommend it to anyone.

The care provided by the Lostock Lodge Care Home was second to none. Not only in caring for Mum but also the support they gave us as a family. Sadly Mum has just moved onto a nursing home. I can’t express enough our thanks to everyone for the 17 months Mum was at Lostock. We will certainly miss them.

Mum has lived at Lostock Lodge since spring 2021. Initially, I was concerned that at 97 she would have problems adapting to living away from home which indeed she did. However, she has now settled into her pleasant room well and is very much enjoying the company of her fellow residents and carers as well as the activities and amenities, particularly the hairdresser!

The interaction with and stimulation from her contemporaries and the wonderful care staff is contributing greatly to Mum maintaining her lively mind and interest in life. I hope to be celebrating her 100th birthday with her next year!

Absolutely 5-star care. All staff members are wonderful, nothing is ever too much trouble for them. Dad is extremely happy and speaks very highly of them all. They have helped him adjust to this new way of life and he is happy to call Lostock his home. Everywhere is always spotless and the food is excellent. I am always made welcome. The care they give is wonderful, he has nothing to worry about, is happy, and nearing 95, can live his best life. Thank you all for caring about my dad and treating him as one of your family.

Although unable to visit due to COVID everything was done to make sure that we had a full picture of life at Lostock Lodge, and a very thorough and careful assessment took place to ensure it was the right setting for us. The customer relations manager was on hand at every stage and without her moving in day would have been very difficult for us. My mum in law settled in quickly and it is obvious that she is well cared for and is very happy which is priceless for our family. Throughout this unsettled time we have been fully informed of policies and the staff have been supportive and caring, there is always something going on and it’s great to see pictures on Facebook of all the residents taking part in activities!

My mum is really well looked after, safe and happy and the staff are very caring and always smiling. We are able to see mum whenever we wish and the care home is a very pleasant place to visit, with first class facilities and always spotlessly clean.

Excellent staff and facilities, well organized with very good communication. The Home is kept very clean and tidy inside and out. Parking within the grounds can be a problem but I understand this is being sorted.

The level of care and service given to my mother is excellent. It’s a very difficult decision to put your family member in care, Lostock lodge have quashed all our worries. If Mum's happy, and I know she is, then we are happy.

We are all more than happy with the care and kindness that Lostock Lodge offers.

What a fantastic time our family and friends had the other night at your fundraiser quiz night, you can put us all down for any more ideas you may have. The wife and I visit my mother-in-law three or four times a week and are always pleased to see how well she is being cared for, since she has been with you her health has improved so much and she’s looking so well. The home is always spotless and the staff are so helpful and friendly it gives us good peace of mind that our decision to bring her from the West Midlands to Lostock was surely the right one. Thank you all so much and we hope you raised some money on the night.
