It has taken a couple of years for me as a relative to feel listened to. My mum is unable to make her views clear and needs support in all areas of her care. I now feel she is very well looked after. The food is excellent and mum has put on weight. The wellbeing team are now active and tries and provide a wide range of activities. The staff know Mum’s needs and are so friendly and approachable. They have not only given mum support but I’m given support too from some of the staff. It isn’t easy being a relative going to see your loved one and I do feel this is an area that still needs more understanding. Everyone has different experiences with the care their loved ones receive and I do feel that at times I’ve had to chase things up more than I should have done especially when it comes to more personal care and care plans being updated. Very little interaction with the manager but care staff, hospitality and housekeeping are excellent.

Mum who has vascular dementia aged 94 is so well cared for, it gives us peace of mind. After a recent fall and visit to the hospital, the care staff do their best to keep her moving and as independent as possible. The attention to detail regarding her independence I cannot fault. The kindness shown by all the staff here is remarkable considering the challenges dementia brings. We as a family feel very supported.

Mum was at Lostock Lodge for four years until June 23. Her care was incredible. Her end-of-life care, I have no words - 41 hours I sat with Mum, and the staff were amazing! If I needed a 10-minute break, somebody sat with her, never was she left alone! She was able to die with dignity and peace.
The staff knew her like her own family; they became her family! Her independence was never taken away from her; she was encouraged always to do things for herself.
Oh, a final note, the food! Oh my goodness, fresh every day, and the cakes I will miss! What a chef they have!

Thank you to everyone - I will miss my visits.

A big thank you to all the staff (caring, managerial, hostesses, activity staff etc.) at Lostock Lodge Care Home, Cheshire for the thoughtful, kind, patient care of both my mum and dad while in their care over the past 2 years in such a lovely home. Also for making myself and all my family so welcome and eventually well-supported during my parents' final weeks. Will be back to visit and stay in touch.

We have recently lost our beloved friend, the staff are absolutely amazing, nothing was too much trouble if we asked for anything. The end-of-life care my friend received was outstanding, and the dignity of my friend remained intact at all times. The Manager was very understanding and informative and went out of her way to keep us informed even outside of working hours, Lostock Lodge is an outstanding retirement home, would recommend it to anyone.

The care provided by the Lostock Lodge Care Home was second to none. Not only in caring for Mum but also the support they gave us as a family. Sadly Mum has just moved onto a nursing home. I can’t express enough our thanks to everyone for the 17 months Mum was at Lostock. We will certainly miss them.

Mum has lived at Lostock Lodge since spring 2021. Initially, I was concerned that at 97 she would have problems adapting to living away from home which indeed she did. However, she has now settled into her pleasant room well and is very much enjoying the company of her fellow residents and carers as well as the activities and amenities, particularly the hairdresser!

The interaction with and stimulation from her contemporaries and the wonderful care staff is contributing greatly to Mum maintaining her lively mind and interest in life. I hope to be celebrating her 100th birthday with her next year!

Absolutely 5-star care. All staff members are wonderful, nothing is ever too much trouble for them. Dad is extremely happy and speaks very highly of them all. They have helped him adjust to this new way of life and he is happy to call Lostock his home. Everywhere is always spotless and the food is excellent. I am always made welcome. The care they give is wonderful, he has nothing to worry about, is happy, and nearing 95, can live his best life. Thank you all for caring about my dad and treating him as one of your family.

Both my parents moved into Lostock Lodge earlier this year.
My parents have different needs, and the staff is amazing at supporting them both. The caring staff and managers have gone out of their way to make the transition from living at home to living at the care home as easy as possible, even doing special things that are above and beyond, like private dining, afternoon teas, gifting a bird feeder, printing out photos, and the list goes on.
My mum has struggled to settle due to the nature of her dementia, and the staff have tried and are continuing to try everything they can to make life as comfortable as possible for mum.
The big thing for me is that they are both safe and well. Dad's falls are now very infrequent, and they were four to five times a week! Dad hasn't looked so contented and well in such a long time.
I'm very grateful for everything the caring staff and management team do for my parents. They are all committed to the best care possible.

I would highly recommend!

When the time came to place my mum in law into a safe and caring home we knew that Lostock Lodge was perfect.

Although unable to visit due to COVID everything was done to make sure that we had a full picture of life at Lostock Lodge, and a very thorough and careful assessment took place to ensure it was the right setting for us. The customer relations manager was on hand at every stage and without her moving in day would have been very difficult for us. My mum in law settled in quickly and it is obvious that she is well cared for and is very happy which is priceless for our family. Throughout this unsettled time we have been fully informed of policies and the staff have been supportive and caring, there is always something going on and it’s great to see pictures on Facebook of all the residents taking part in activities!

My auntie became a resident in Lostock Lodge Care home this year. We hadn't the opportunity to look around because of the pandemic but with the help of the Customer Relations Manager who was extremely helpful, kind, and professional my Auntie was able to have a smooth transition into the care home.
Her room is very spacious with its own bathroom and is clean and comfortable.
The staff are extremely caring and helpful and always willing to answer any questions you may have. My auntie is treated well and has been given a lot of support to settle in.

We are all more than happy with the care and kindness that Lostock Lodge offers.

What a fantastic time our family and friends had the other night at your fundraiser quiz night, you can put us all down for any more ideas you may have. The wife and I visit my mother-in-law three or four times a week and are always pleased to see how well she is being cared for, since she has been with you her health has improved so much and she’s looking so well. The home is always spotless and the staff are so helpful and friendly it gives us good peace of mind that our decision to bring her from the West Midlands to Lostock was surely the right one. Thank you all so much and we hope you raised some money on the night.

The staff made us extremely welcome when we first visited our relative at Lostock Lodge. They were happy to answer our questions and resolve any issues or concerns.
We were delighted to find that our relative has settled into her new home quite happily. She is kept busy joining in many different activities, which give structure to her day as well as a purpose and sense of achievement, thanks to the support of caring and friendly staff.
There is a calm atmosphere throughout, the building is light, airy and clean.

We couldn't wish for a better, more caring environment for our relative, thank you.

The wonderful staff at Lostock Lodge cared for my father during an extended respite stay. They are a fantastic team, from the helpful ladies on reception who do an unbelievable job of multi-tasking whilst always remaining calm, through to the seniors on Dad's floor who were always willing to talk, provide updates and help answer questions and everyone else who makes this a team effort. Dad was very well looked after.

We only had the opportunity of experiencing the range of facilities and activities for a short time before 'lockdown' hit in 2020, but it's clearly obvious how much of an asset the fantastic building is, with plenty of space for residents, with nice, modern, spacious bright corridors and lounge areas and the en-suite bedrooms are nicely furnished and clean. We never had the opportunity to enjoy the gardens much, but they are also well-cared for and there is plenty of space around the building to enjoy.
