Grampian Court Care Home, situated in the friendly town of Peterlee, supports older people to lead their best lives with personalised residential and residential dementia care.

This warm, welcoming home offers a choice of several comfortable sitting rooms and dining areas, as well as its own hair and beauty salon and café. The lovely landscaped garden, which is looked after by residents and is a great place to relax in the warmer weather.

The catering team at Grampian Court understands the nutritional needs of older people and creates delicious meals which can be enjoyed in the spacious dining areas which provide a welcoming space to enjoy meals with fellow residents, or family and friends.

From care assistants to wellbeing coordinators and chefs, each and every member of the professional care team is there to support residents as they settle in to life at the home. They take time to learn about each resident’s hobbies and interests to design a comprehensive activity programme with something for everyone to enjoy. So whether they prefer enjoying some peace and quiet, engaging with the enriching activities programme or spending time with the Peterlee community, residents are supported to continue to enjoy the things they love most.

The care and support given by staff and management at Grampion Court has been excellent. My mother-in-law was in hospital recently and without the support provided by management we would not have been able to get her home in time for Christmas. Successfully she returned to the home on Christmas Eve
and the whole family shared a lovely Christmas Day with her.

My experience is always warm and friendly. Staff helpful and welcoming. Nothing is too much for them. The food is top class. My aunt enjoys her meals and always has seconds of her porridge. Her bedroom is better than many hotels and always speaks of it as her room. She is never allowed to lie in bed
all day but must spend the day in the common room with the other residents. Entertainment is provided which is the highlight of the month for her. A very professional carer.

My brother arrived in June this year and from the outset, he felt very comfortable with his situation here. Each time we visited he would remark on how nice the place is, likening Grampian Court to a hotel and saying how nice the staff are and how well they looked after him. On behalf of all of my brothers

Mum has now been in Grampian Court for 10 days and is a different woman. She is so happy and motivated compared to the mum who was deteriorating rapidly in the previous place. She has even been out on a trip this week which she would never have done before.

My aunt has been a resident here for four months.
As a family, we are delighted with the care. The manager is wonderful, she has really high standards and the staff are very much on board. Her 'mood' since arriving and her 'well being' are definitely massively improved.

Job Title: Home Manager

As a dedicated healthcare professional, Emma has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people, to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for Residents.


Having worked for HC-One for many years, Emma closely shares the company’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her Colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


She also works hard to arrange events and activities with nearby schools and clubs and is always keen to include the local community in life at Grampian Court.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Emma remarked:


“I just love that no two days are ever the same, every day can be a new experience.”


Outside of work, Emma enjoys spending quality time with her two children, family and friends.
