Grampian Court Care Home, situated in the friendly town of Peterlee, supports older people to lead their best lives with personalised residential and residential dementia care.

This warm, welcoming home offers a choice of several comfortable sitting rooms and dining areas, as well as its own hair and beauty salon and café. The lovely landscaped garden, which is looked after by residents and is a great place to relax in the warmer weather.

The catering team at Grampian Court understands the nutritional needs of older people and creates delicious meals which can be enjoyed in the spacious dining areas which provide a welcoming space to enjoy meals with fellow residents, or family and friends.

From care assistants to wellbeing coordinators and chefs, each and every member of the professional care team is there to support residents as they settle in to life at the home. They take time to learn about each resident’s hobbies and interests to design a comprehensive activity programme with something for everyone to enjoy. We want to say a massive thank you for all the care, friendship, love and support you gave to my Mam, but also to all the family during the final 3 months of my Mam's life. From the moment Mam came to stay in Grampian Court, you could feel the warmth of love from all the staff, no matter what role each
of the staff played, everyone always had kind words to say to her. We saw a massive change in Mam, seeing this social butterfly emerging, brought on by inclusion and encouragement of the daily and social activities of the home and also encouraging friendships with other residents. Not only was my Mam loved, but we, the family, also felt the same love offered by each and every member of the staff. Her care was of the highest standards, always making sure all her needs were met, social, emotional, physical and nutritional. In her final days before her passing all the staff showed Mam so much love and concern. I was able to see the amazing care given by all the staff, both through the day and night. The staff made sure Mam was as comfortable and pain-free as possible by the inclusion of District Nurses and Doctors. Mam was shown and given, the dignity she deserved up to and on the day of her passing. We have been so impressed with how Grampian Court is managed. There was always an open door if we need to ask a question or just say 'Hello'. There were always smiles and recognition when we came in. Grampian Court always appears more like a 5* hotel than a residential home! We have been impressed by the high standard of care by all the staff. They are a credit to you and Grampian Court.

My nan was fragile and underweight when she came to Grampian Court. Leaving her home of many years was disorientating. The level of care she received from day 1 has been more than amazing, she soon got comfortable and health improved. However, of late she did take a steep drop in health and the care
just got better than we could expect. All staff looked after both my nan and us as a family. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

In November Mum needed emergency treatment and was hospitalised. Her condition was initially identified by staff who managed the situation extremely professionally. The hospital staff prepared her for discharge. She stated that she was 'ready to go home', identifying Grampian Court as her home - a fitting
tribute to the care of Grampian Court. We were delighted at the atmosphere created by staff over the Christmas period - beautiful trees and quality decorations with activities to watch. As always, the food was excellent - two family members enjoyed a Christmas lunch with Mum. Our mother is 96 and is a 'feisty' lady with a strong will, but everyone has taken the time to get to know her (and us). We visit, ring and chat to staff almost as extended family. We know that whilst Mum appears as always to be 'in charge' she does this because of the support of staff and management. We are always aware that she is safe and cared for.

I cannot fault the care that my mum has received whilst in Grampian Court, from day one it has been first class.

Just to offer our heartfelt thanks to management and staff for all their hard work, dedication and support in making Christmas so very special. I was absolutely dreading not having my husband home but I worried needlessly. We enjoyed greatly the time together, an amazing Christmas dinner. Good fun in
a lovely happy atmosphere. Decorations were excellent. 100% first class all round performance. Very grateful thanks.

As a dedicated healthcare professional, Emma has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people, to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for Residents.


Having worked for HC-One for many years, Emma closely shares the company’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her Colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


She also works hard to arrange events and activities with nearby schools and clubs and is always keen to include the local community in life at Grampian Court.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Emma remarked:


“I just love that no two days are ever the same, every day can be a new experience.”


Outside of work, Emma enjoys spending quality time with her two children, family and friends.
