I’m very glad we found Arlington Manor. The staff throughout the home are caring and friendly. My wife is very happy and really appreciates the care she receives. The rooms are well appointed and very comfortable. There are excellent facilities throughout the home, including a craft and games room, a lovely music room, a bright and comfortable cafe where residents and friends can get drinks and excellent cakes at any time. Services such as hairdressing and nail care, chiropodist etc. are very helpful. Very modern, very spacious but most importantly very caring. Truly first class.

Mum made her decision to move into Arlington Manor immediately after her first visit. The staff are very friendly and eager to please and promote a positive and stimulating ethos.
The building and furnishings are well designed and comfortable, lovely lounge areas, quiet spaces and a "buzzy" cafe.
The chef is trying to please all the residents with a varied menu and I have enjoyed a couple of lunches with mum (although some of the food was not hot enough).

I am happy because mum is happy.

My Aunt moved in 2 weeks ago and each time I see her she makes first-rate comments of the quality provided at Arlington. Her remarks include: spacious rooms and corridors, really obliging, friendly and pleasant staff, enjoyment of the various activities and there are plenty of quiet corners if she chooses to read. I think the home is wonderful, well designed, excellently furnished and carers have been welcoming and quickly building a relationship with my Aunt.

There is an excellent café to enjoy drinks with chef’s delicious cakes. I have also enjoyed a meal with my Aunt on two occasions, good choice menu and food well-cooked although food not always hot. Disappointed framed paintings still need hanging in the room, confusing for my Aunt, should have been hung before my Aunt moved in.

Reply from Zoe Kirk, General Manager at Hallmark Arlington Manor
Thank you for you feedback, I am very glad to hear that your aunt is feeling happy in her new home.

I do apologise that the pictures were not hung in time for your Aunt's arrival. We have since hung these pictures and we will endeavour to improve this aspect of our service.

Overall Experience

Mum moved into Arlington Manor a few weeks ago. The family are so happy that she is there. Her room and surroundings are beautiful and she is living a life of luxury where nothing is too much trouble for anyone. Mum has Alzheimer's and one of the most important things for us is that the carers allow her to live her life with dignity and choice with the perfect balance of gentle persuasion and negotiation where needed - they are a very skilled and kind group of people. An impressive part of the caring ethos at Arlington is the way that everyone cares for the residents, not just the carers. As relatives who visits frequently my sister and I and my son find visiting is a pleasure with the staff always wanting to look after us too! The cherry on the top is that when I leave I know that Mum is getting the very best care, in lovely surroundings and is totally safe at Arlington Manor.

Dad went into residential respite care for 3 weeks initially. He was very unsettled at first but with the attentive care of the staff he settled down. As a family, I think we would be very happy for him to become a permanent resident should the need arise.

My Dad is staying at Arlington Manor for respite care while his home is re-wired. It has been a little unsettling for him to be away from his familiar surroundings but in all the anxiety and yearning to go home he has always praised the staff and enjoyed the food. Everyone has been patient and welcoming.

Since my mother moved in less than three weeks ago, she has become much more the person I used to know. She is clean and beautifully dressed and is clearly very relaxed. She is engaging in conversation much more frequently and enjoys being involved in the many varied activities, whereas at one time she would have chosen to stay in her room. Not only is Mum so very happy but now I am too. I must just say that I have shared a few mealtimes with Mum and the food is nothing short of excellent, there is plenty of variety and always an option if you don't fancy the main choices.
