If you are searching for a five star care jome for your loved one, look no further than Kingslear. The facilities are state of the art where luxury is evident throughout this site. The staff are approachable whilst remembering visitor names. Praise due for the nutritional meals where my friend looks forward to smoked salmon or prawn cocktail as a starter followed by a roast meal. The icing on the cake is a glass of white wine to complement the appealing lunch and dinner. Entertainment is provided most days, this is important for social cohesion and mental stimulus.

My mother-in-law was only a resident at Kingsclear for 10 weeks, but from entering the home, the warm welcome made her feel at ease. From her first day at the home, she was shown love, respect and dignity. The team always had time for her and nothing was too much trouble. The food was incredible, with the puréed food being put into moulds so it actually looked like what the other residents were eating. The home was clean and tidy with no odours and you could tell the staff took pride in their roles. Thank you for everything you did for my mother-in-law.

My dad, who is ninety, moved to Kingsclear Care Home in April and I have never seen my dad so happy and so well looked after, he is living his best life. All the staff are amazing and nothing is too much trouble. I am very relieved that my dad is in a safe and caring home. I would highly recommend that if you are looking for a care home for your loved one please consider Kingsclear, you will not be disappointed in any way.

I’m so impressed with Kingsclear, from the very first conversation until now I felt reassured in regard to all my concerns regarding my mother’s needs.
Mum is settling in and taking part in lots of activities. She has made friends with other residents and is complimentary about all of the staff.
The staff I have met are knowledgeable and very caring about Mum, there is a friendly atmosphere each time I have been in to see her (with Covid rules in place), hopefully more rules will ease over the next few months.

Mum has been at Kingsclear for 5 weeks and we are extremely happy with our choice.

I moved my mother into Kingsclear from another nursing home and I have to say it was best decision I have ever made. From the initial telephone call to moving in day to the present day I have not been disappointed. The staff really do go the extra mile. Very polite and friendly and most importantly of all they are approachable. The way they have looked after my mother is lovely to see. She is in the end stages of life but the way she is treated with dignity and care is first class. The food quality again is excellent, the care put into the pureed food so it looks like it's original form is just fabulous. Even though my mother is unable to communicate the staff chat away to her taking time when feeding her, they will come back if she is too sleepy and try again and again until she is awake enough to eat. They go the extra mile to really make sure all residents and relatives are looked after even in these difficult times.

Mum has settled in quickly at Kingsclear. Being very independent, she enjoys the freedom to walk in the garden and listen to her music in her room. Films in the cinema are proving popular too, especially as they are of her era. The meals are to a high standard and she has been eating well as a result. As a family, we are so pleased that she is safe and happy. In my experience, the standard of caring is very good. Thank you to the staff for looking after Mum so well.

I have been visiting my friend since she moved in a few years ago and have never really felt the need to write a review but I have to say that over the last year or so Kingsclear has really made positive changes. Talking with my friend on the phone this evening, she is happy and feels like all has changed for the better. She mainly puts this down to the changes implemented by the new ladies in management who are both always ready and willing to listen to anything that she has to say. It made my heart swell to hear her sound so happy.

Visited Mum today, albeit under strict controls so that we meet all current guidelines. She is healthy and happy, and being very well looked after by a sincere and caring team. Missing being able to take her out for the day, but comforted by the care and company she is enjoying in Kingsclear.

My wife has just started her second year at Kingsclear, having previously been in residence in a home that has since closed. Prior to that, spending periods of respite in four different care homes. I have made comparisons with these experiences in making this review. Overall I would rate Kingsclear as very good. Nursing, Care, and domestic staff is first class, coming from no less than 10 countries and 4 continents, working harmoniously together. Turnover is quite quick and in the past much has depended on agency staff. Very hard working and conscientious staff using initiative and encouragement in activities. Food is good, wholesome, varied, and well prepared. Individual choices are also available. Those involved are well versed in catering. Senior management recently changed. Department managers are efficient and approachable. When first visiting one is greeted with an air of efficiency and welcome.

I have to say that Kingsclear is one of the most welcoming places to visit. Everytime I walk through the door the receptionist is friendly and attentive and could not be any more helpful if she tried. The carers are always running around to make the residents here live their best life and I am always delighted to see that my friend is happy and well cared for. Kingsclear has had its issues in the past but these seem to be well and truly being dealt with by the management team and I look forward to seeing more exciting changes in future.

On walking into reception, there is a warm, caring and friendly atmosphere. The care and support staff are wonderful and attentive at all times. The communal rooms are spacious and equivalent to hotel luxury, as are the individual rooms and cleanliness is of a very high standard.

It is comforting to know that my sister is being cared for to such a high standard.

We were here three weeks for respite which was enjoyable and beneficial.
The staff were kind, courteous and helpful. The facilities and decor were excellent and the room spacious.
The system of serving food from the kitchen to the ground floor could be improved. Hopefully, the activities will be more frequent and varied in the future.

The grounds are well laid out and the seating arrangements for outside are excellent. We highly recommend Kingsclear.

On entering Kingsclear the atmosphere is very welcoming with staff who are always willing to help. My parents are staying here for three weeks respite care and they have found the home's entertainment wonderful. They have been treated with respect, warmth and dignity. The rooms are airy, spacious and very clean. The food is very good and nothing has been too much trouble. The home's manager is always willing to listen and chat to relatives but she will always get involved and be willing to take on any task within the home if it becomes necessary. This all adds up to a very happy environment and a caring home.

Robert CookJob Title Home Manager

I’ve worked in care since I was 18 when I started as a domiciliary carer and stayed in this form of care for over 8 years where I progressed through various roles including supervisor and management roles. Within this time, I also passed my Level 5 in Health and Social Care Management.

In 2020, I joined Kingsclear as the Dementia Unit Manager, before being promoted to Deputy Manager and am now proud to be Home Manager. All roles have given me the opportunity to offer stability to the people living in our community and my colleagues.

I enjoy my daily walk-arounds and getting the opportunity to see and chat with our residents, seeing them smile and make new friends. The local area is lovely and it is important to us that our home is part of the local community. We always look forward to going out and welcoming the community into our home.
