A lovely care home where my relative was looked after most attentively. The care home staff were very kind and friendly. The easy access to the large garden and the bistro area with hot drinks available at all hours were particularly appreciated. I would have no hesitation in recommending this home
to others and am very grateful for the care that my relative received.

Staff very caring and helpful, to one another and to residents.
Food delicious, staff very helpful about special diets.
Good choice of activities. Lovely garden. High standard of cleanliness. Furniture too big for me. I am small and thin.

My friend was at Lincroft Meadow for eight weeks before she passed away. During that time the staff were friendly to myself and very supportive of my friend. They took time to explain the care my friend was receiving along with how and why things were done. I know that my friend enjoyed their company.
As my friend entered her last days the support I personally received from members of my friend's care team (thank you), and management (thank you) was above and beyond what I could have imagined. I felt they too were on the journey with us and were not just there for my friend but for her friends as well. The memory of the hugs and the kind words is a lasting memory, and very precious. To know that my friend was surrounded by love and care when her friends were not at her side is a great comfort. The staff there are a great team and deserve recognition of that fact.
Thank you again.

As a resident patient jointly with my wife (who requires nursing care) for only the first 1 and a half weeks at Lincroft Meadow Care Home in Kidlington, I can rate the experience from the preliminaries in all respects as truly outstanding in every aspect: first contact, inspection, arrangements, management,
staff, carers, furnishings and housekeeping - all exceeded expectations and, indeed, surpassed anticipations. It's too early to assess the experience, but so far it truly deserves to be regarded as 'OUTSTANDING' - very human and humane, caring, understanding, professional and encouraging.

We cannot praise Lincroft Meadow highly enough. The staff are well trained, friendly, efficient and supportive. My husband had multiple medical needs and all were managed with care, friendliness and well qualified medical efficiency. The staff not only looked after the patient but also supported members
of our family through tough times, especially the management of end of life care with the support of the local GP practice. The accommodation is light and airy, but with all the equipment needed for patient care as well as comfortable furniture both in private and public rooms. It is a joy to walk into the reception area and to be greeted by the staff, who treat all residents, their family and friends, with respect and friendliness - not to mention coffee and cakes! For those who are more independent, there is encouragement to interact with friends and family in the area which means there are always friends and family visiting.

The care home is bright and well furnished. I sometimes feel the food is not always consistent and would like to see more fresh vegetables which are lightly cooked and not covered in sauces. Also, some fresh fruit (satsumas, bananas, apples) that residents could help themselves to.
Also, some more
varied activities that use the resident's minds so the day is not so long.

My husband gets excellent care. The food is first class. Unfortunately, he does not participate in the activities provided. There is quite a change over of staff over the past year. I suspect that is because the pay and hours are not good for the carers.

Over the six months that she was resident at Lincroft Meadow, my wife received efficient and compassionate treatment from many staff members. She was in the late stages of dementia and died on 4th September. In these difficult circumstances, staff at all levels were unfailingly kind to her and took
great care to make her comfortable and, so far as possible, happy.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.937)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.937) out of 10 for Lincroft Meadow Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 36 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 36 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.937 for Lincroft Meadow Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (403 Excellents x 5) + (23 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 428 Ratings = 4.937
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Lincroft Meadow Care Home is based on 36 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 70 registered maximum number of service users is 14, which has been reached with 36 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Hello, my name is Elaine Ratcliffe, and I am the Home Manager here at Lincroft Meadow.

I joined the Lincroft Meadow team when our home was still a building site, so I have truly been here since the beginning! It was wonderful to see our home develop, but the most special moment for us was when we opened our doors and welcomed our very first residents.

I have worked in the care sector for 17 years, starting as a care assistant and working my way up to management roles. I am passionate about caring for our senior community, and I'm proud that my team share the same values.
