All the staff and carers are friendly and helpful. The rooms, bathrooms and other facilities are spotlessly clean. When moving in we were given all the information and help needed to make it as stress-free as possible.

We live approx 110 miles away but visit once a month so we needed a good reliable care home and are lucky our friend is in this one. Our friend is so well looked after he looks better and younger than he did five years ago.

My Dad went into Oak Manor in May 2018.

When we first went and had a look we were impressed by how beautiful it was and we were made to feel so welcome.

Oak Manor has exceeded our expectations, the care and love has come from every member of staff, nothing is too much trouble. It is such relief to know he is in such good hands.

Thank you so much for your wonderful words of encouragement. Our dedicated team do their best to ensure every resident has just as good an experience at Oak Manor as your Dad. We are so glad you feel relieved with your Dad here and that he settled in really well.

I have been a volunteer at Oak Manor for nearly a year now, I visit with my dog once a week and also join in with craft activities. I have to say I am very impressed with the quality of staff, they all seem very caring and hard working. The building itself is very well maintained and the resident's rooms are always clean, tidy and have the feeling of individuality. I have watched friendships develop and there is always a warm welcome from both staff and residents.

Reply from Thomas Davies, Home Manager at Oak Manor Care Home

Thank you for your kind feedback. We are also very proud of the team that we have developed and we pride ourselves on making Oak Manor the residents’ home. We welcome all of our volunteers. I would personally like to thank you for all of your input over the last year and I hope there are many more years to come.

Mum has been at the home for about 6 months. She seems to be very happy, she has dementia and so not completely aware. The care she receives is excellent. The carers are superb, very attentive and considerate. The surroundings are very comfortable. She has a lovely room with a door to the outside.

It is a pleasure to visit her there as it is such a happy place.

Some carers are fantastic, others need prompting. The activities co-ordinator is amazing, everyone loves her and she is fantastic with them.

All the carers are always cheerful, friendly and professional. Mum is supported in exactly the way she wishes. She is encouraged to try activities she thought she would not be able to do due to visual impairments.

Mum has flourished due to all the TLC in Oak Manor. Her confidence and enjoyment for life have returned.

Dad settled in immediately. Very friendly, caring environment. I was nervous at first as dad lived in a different county, I didn’t need to worry. Dad loves his room, the staff are very caring and friendly. I am always made welcome when I visit, which is most days.

Coffee lounge is lovely, dad’s friends have visited a couple of times, they enjoy having coffee and biscuits on their visit.

Reply from Thomas Davies, Home Manager at Oak Manor Care Home

Thank you for this lovely feedback. Your Dad has settled in well at Oak Manor and, as you said, benefits from the accessibility of the café area and the privacy of his own bedroom. I’m so pleased to hear from you that he loves his room – he has really joined the Oak Manor community.

My dad has dementia and after caring for my mum found it hard to rely on others. When he chose to go to a care home I felt I had let him down but his friends have said how well he is and how this was the best thing I could have done for him. He still finds it hard to understand where he is sometimes but he always feels safe and happy at Oak Manor. The staff all know his name which helps him feel at home from home. I cannot thank staff enough for what they do and how they have helped us both.
