We never felt that any of our requests were a challenge or difficult. The staff were always honest with us about challenges and changes when Mum's care or support needed changing. The team are all hardworking across all the jobs whether it be care/ domestic/ admin/ management and catering. Our feelings and thoughts were always taken into consideration. There is a good family community at Oak Manor and I would recommend it to anyone who needs the level of support and care that our Mum did.

Every team member shows genuine warmth, compassion, and dedication, giving me complete confidence that my Dad is cared for with the same love and respect I would want for him myself. When we began looking into care for our mum, we turned to friends and people in the local area for advice. Oak Manor was mentioned again and again. When speaking to the receptionist and manager, we were made to feel very welcome. Our mum was offered a place in July, and we moved her in. It was a difficult and worrying time, but the staff made it a lot easier. They made mum very welcome and have taken excellent care of her. No matter what part of the team, you are met with a smile and a word of welcome. It has been a relief for us to know mum is being cared for and beginning to settle in. Thank you.

A year ago my elderly mother was in a private flat and unable to cope, due to lack of mobility, severe hearing loss and mental decline. My sister and I visited several care homes in the area, and noticed how much more engaged with residents the staff at Oak Manor seemed compared to the others. That first impression is reinforced on every visit. The staff all seem to enjoy their work and nothing is too much trouble for them. They are incredibly kind and patient with my mother, who can often be moody and difficult, and always have time to chat with me. Oak Manor is spotlessly clean and very well maintained. Her room is a good size and the ensuite bathroom is always immaculately clean. One of many examples of staff going the extra mile happened on Christmas Day 2024. I'd left it too late to book a restaurant for lunch, so staff carried a dining table and chairs into the room, and served up a 3-course traditional Christmas dinner complete with table decorations! Oak Manor are a class act.

Oak Manor is a fresh, clean, bright and airy place. The staff are friendly and fun. We always feel able to approach them and feel that mum is safe and loved. On one occasion our mother suffered a bad turn and was not expected to live, the staff were finishing a 12 hr shift. They all came by at the end of their shift and waited in line to see her for 15-20 minutes to say hi and possibly bye. It was so touching. It is a lovely place and we feel very lucky to have found it. Our mum is very happy there.

Cecilia has worked in care since the age of 18, originally training as a nurse in Romania. She brought her passion and dedication for care to Oak Manor in 2018 and was promoted from Senior Care Assistant to Deputy Home Manager and then to Home Manager in 2023. In addition to her nursing qualification, Cecilia holds a Level 5 NVQ in Health and Social Care.
One of her proudest moments was when Oak Manor received Shefford Town Council's Civic Award in recognition of its work to build strong community links, reduce isolation, and create opportunities for people of all ages to connect. Cecilia said: "At MHA Oak Manor, we believe in creating a home where everyone feels valued, connected, and supported—and this award reaffirms that those efforts are making a real difference."
