The staff are amazing and went above and beyond when we visited. They are very friendly, caring and doing an amazing job. The facilities are clean and colourful, they even have their onsite hair dressers/barbers and coffee shop setting.

My grandmother has settled very well. She feels safe and secure. Carers are friendly, attentive and supportive. Whenever I make contact with the home, staff are always helpful and polite. Unable to comment on rooms, as my grandmother became a resident during Covid, so haven't seen yet. No complaints
regarding food/drink, and I assume value for money (I am not involved financially). An overall lovely home.

Oak Manor Care Home is a welcoming and friendly care home which meets my aunt's needs perfectly. The care managers and their colleagues are always on hand to answer questions and they all take a proactive role in the day-to-care of all residents. The home environment is light, bright and airy with easy
access including blue badge parking bays and this contributes towards the pervading cheerful and positive atmosphere. When first viewing the home as a potential residence for my aunt staff willingly gave their time to answers questions fully and to provide a very helpful guided tour of their facilities which are quite impressive. I do like the fact that MHA is open and up front about its policies and costs. These were all fully explained both on the website and in dialogue with with the care managers. The move went well. I have confidence in the home and its staff as I see how well my aunt has settled into her new routine and that she is quite content at being resident at Oak Manor.

The care team have been magnificent with every aspect of caring for my loved one, from the day they went in, until her recent passing. When every effort was made to safely allow access to say goodbye. The level of sensitivity and support for the family was instrumental in helping us cope with our grief.
It was like being allowed to be part of the Oak Manor Care Home family. We cannot thank them enough for everything they did. Especially the little touches like sending a poem or good wishes. Lining up the staff to say farewell with music. It was very touching and allowed her to have a peaceful and pain-free passing. Thank you all.

Oak Manor Care Home completely changed my perception of care homes. It is the most wonderful, uplifting place where our mum was fortunate enough to spend the last six months of her life. The manager and hear team are amazing. They cared for our mum as if she was part of their one big family. The support
and compassion they showed towards us when Mum passed was incredibly touching. Cannot thank them enough. Would recommend Oak Manor Care Home to anyone.

From the moment Mum went into Oak Manor Care Home we knew we had made the right choice. The staff and management there so caring and there is a lovely positive atmosphere. They put on lots of celebrations and social events which helped with the Covid restriction. it was lovely to see Mum dancing and
enjoying a music event on the home social media. When Mum passed, the staff went above and beyond to give her the care and dignity she observed and supported our family too. I am so grateful we chose Oak Manor Care Home, Mum deserved the best and she got it. Thanks.

Oak Manor Care Home is a fantastic care home not just for facilities, cleanliness and all the things you would want in a care home, but most importantly the staff have been amazing - not just for Mum but for us the family too. I can not recommend Oak Manor Care Home highly enough.

My mother was in Oak Manor Care Home for 5 months before she sadly passed. Oak Manor Care Home was the best care home I could have hoped for. The staff are amazing, personal, professional and always provided a happy positive atmosphere. Even at the end of my mother's life, Oak Manor Care Home were amazing.
Not one complaint from my family at all.

My mum has dementia and my dad couldn’t take care of her at home anymore. We were recommended Oak Manor Care Home and my mum moved in in February 2020. It wasn’t an easy time due to Covid but the level of care for my mum has been amazing since she arrived. They keep my dad updated with everything that
happens and look after him as well. He was able to have Christmas lunch with Mum which was really lovely for them. My mum is so much more engaged now as the amount of activities Oak Manor put on stimulates her and helps to keep her engaged. The staff are wonderful and are always friendly and happy and work very hard to keep the residents well looked after and happy. Oak Manor is a wonderful care home.

I moved my uncle into Oak Manor on the 8th February 2021 when it became obvious that he needed a bit of help and so could not continue living on his own at home. Despite the challenges of COVID, Oak Manor was able to find a place for my uncle quickly and he was able to move in within a week after the
required testing was completed. I cannot thank enough the Administration Manager for facilitating this quick intake and the Home Manager and team for making him feel so welcome. He has now been a resident for over two months and is really happy. I have visited him a few times and he has made friends, is eating better and even taking part in the activities! Thank you all.

Very well operated home. Staff are very attentive to all patients' needs and the structure of activity is very good up to Covid preventing a loss of opportunity to carry this forward. This is not a reflection of the home or its staff but purely down to Government guidance and Laws. I would recommend
this care home to anyone who is looking for a place to care for friends or loved ones, I chose it after trawling a number of other homes in the area.

What can I say the home is brilliant, the staff are brilliant especially under the leadership of the manager, my mother has been there since it opened and they couldn't have done more for me or Mum, she has dementia and is not always the easiest of people she fires the staff all the time. You ladies
there deserve medals for all you have done during this difficult time... stay safe.

My mum has been a resident at Oak Manor for 2-years, and they always go above and beyond with my mum. The home is clean, and there are a few staff members who are exceptional, and I know they genuinely care about their job and the residents. Although my mum has late stages of dementia, they are very

Mum has been at Oak Manor for over 18 months now and I am confident that she is cared for with compassion and respect. The Management of Oak Manor has done everything they can to ensure that Mum is as happy as she can be in these difficult times and the staff members that care for Mum on a day to day
basis keep her calm and happy. Oak Manor has always been a clean and welcoming environment for residents and, until recent restrictions, family members were made to feel very welcome when they visited.
The Activity Co-ordinators do a wonderful job of finding new and enjoyable ways to keep residents entertained and stimulated. Mum has also appreciated the support and care of the Chaplain. Music is a key feature at Oak Manor and I think this is so important for people with dementia and others.

My mum moved into Oak Manor 2 months ago after her dementia got to a stage that she could no longer remain at home. It was such a worrying time but from the first phone call through to mum’s first day there, the staff were fantastic and I knew straight away that she was in good hands. It is such a lovely
place and the staff are caring and friendly. I have visited mum several times and it’s clear to see she is very well looked after. I love seeing the photos of their activities too. It’s a wonderful care home.

Mum has been resident for several years at Oak Manor after a disappointing stay at another care home in Bedford. Above all the team at Oak Manor are caring. Mum isn't always easy and over the last few months of lockdown, it has been clear how hard they work. Her dementia has progressed substantially
during the years she has been in the home. The home has made the best out of what has been a very tough time and it has been nice to see entertainers and visitors done in a socially distanced way. The home is well-appointed with new large bedrooms with garden views. A useful coffee area and reception and enough parking. The home is owned by MHA and I feel that they are battling for care homes when it comes to things like testing and standing up to some of the unfair treatment that care homes have received. My only gripe is that living a long way away, my particular needs are not always catered for - I can't just pop in and topping up the pocket money can't be done electronically.

Mum went into Oak Manor in May having been cared for at home but suffering from Dementia for 3 years. I can honestly say, as a family, that since she has been at Oak Manor we have seen an immense progression in her everyday wellbeing. We are lucky that she has happy dementia and the fun side of her
is shining again. She is interacting with other residents, she is involved in singing, karaoke, bowling just a few of the activities offered by the fantastic staff. I honestly feel that we have no worries about Mum's care and attendance. She always appears happy, she looks well, and loves the food. The staff are extremely accommodating, nothing is too much trouble. Communication from the team is second to none. Mum went in during the height of Coronavirus and we had no concerns on how the home was dealing with a very difficult time. My dad contacts my mum twice a day by phone and it is never a problem. Well done and sincere thanks to you all. Couldn't wish for a better home from home.

Thank you to all staff at Oak Manor for caring for my mother. Dementia is not an easy illness, but I was impressed that they continued to assess new measures to help her as the disease progressed. During the first deep lockdown due to covid, we stayed away as everyone was scared about contracting or
spreading the disease. Staff facilitated phone calls and video calls to keep families in touch with their relatives inside the care home. As the situation prevailed and it became apparent that things were not going to blow over quickly, again the staff were proactive, this time about finding a way for visitors to meet their loved ones, either by appointment in controlled areas outside the building or by providing access with full PPE to enable visitors to see their 'end of life' relatives in their rooms. For this, I am very grateful. I wish them well with adapting to the colder weather now approaching and trust they will find a way forward to keep families in touch with their loved ones.

Mum has now resided at Oak Manor for nearly two years. In this time Mum has received the highest level of care from all of the fantastic team. The team is professional, kind, thoughtful and caring, there is always well-planned activities and everyone is made to feel welcome and included. We as a family
can not recommend Oak Manor highly enough, the manager and all of her team are outstanding especially in this current climate when they are experiencing difficult times. Mum is very happy at Oak Manor which in turn for us all as a family means the world.

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 64 registered maximum number of service users is 12.8, which has been reached with 28 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
