My mother was in Oak Manor Care Home for 5 months before she sadly passed. Oak Manor Care Home was the best care home I could have hoped for. The staff are amazing, personal, professional and always provided a happy positive atmosphere. Even at the end of my mother's life, Oak Manor Care Home were amazing. Not one complaint from my family at all.

My mum has dementia and my dad couldn’t take care of her at home anymore. We were recommended Oak Manor Care Home and my mum moved in in February 2020. It wasn’t an easy time due to Covid but the level of care for my mum has been amazing since she arrived. They keep my dad updated with everything that happens and look after him as well. He was able to have Christmas lunch with Mum which was really lovely for them. My mum is so much more engaged now as the amount of activities Oak Manor put on stimulates her and helps to keep her engaged. The staff are wonderful and are always friendly and happy and work very hard to keep the residents well looked after and happy. Oak Manor is a wonderful care home.

Thank you so much for the kind review, we are so glad that mum settled in so well and we have a lovely relationship with dad too. We pride ourselves to be person-centred and provide care to a high standard. The staff work very hard to ensure all of our residents are engaged in activities and we are pleased that mum has benefited from these.

I moved my uncle into Oak Manor on the 8th February 2021 when it became obvious that he needed a bit of help and so could not continue living on his own at home. Despite the challenges of COVID, Oak Manor was able to find a place for my uncle quickly and he was able to move in within a week after the required testing was completed. I cannot thank enough the Administration Manager for facilitating this quick intake and the Home Manager and team for making him feel so welcome. He has now been a resident for over two months and is really happy. I have visited him a few times and he has made friends, is eating better and even taking part in the activities! Thank you all.

Very well operated home. Staff are very attentive to all patients' needs and the structure of activity is very good up to Covid preventing a loss of opportunity to carry this forward. This is not a reflection of the home or its staff but purely down to Government guidance and Laws. I would recommend this care home to anyone who is looking for a place to care for friends or loved ones, I chose it after trawling a number of other homes in the area.

What can I say the home is brilliant, the staff are brilliant especially under the leadership of the manager, my mother has been there since it opened and they couldn't have done more for me or Mum, she has dementia and is not always the easiest of people she fires the staff all the time. You ladies there deserve medals for all you have done during this difficult time... stay safe.

My mum has been a resident at Oak Manor for 2-years, and they always go above and beyond with my mum. The home is clean, and there are a few staff members who are exceptional, and I know they genuinely care about their job and the residents. Although my mum has late stages of dementia, they are very patient with her and tackle each challenge head-on.

Mum has been at Oak Manor for over 18 months now and I am confident that she is cared for with compassion and respect. The Management of Oak Manor has done everything they can to ensure that Mum is as happy as she can be in these difficult times and the staff members that care for Mum on a day to day basis keep her calm and happy. Oak Manor has always been a clean and welcoming environment for residents and, until recent restrictions, family members were made to feel very welcome when they visited.

The Activity Co-ordinators do a wonderful job of finding new and enjoyable ways to keep residents entertained and stimulated. Mum has also appreciated the support and care of the Chaplain. Music is a key feature at Oak Manor and I think this is so important for people with dementia and others.

Amazing place. So caring. Thank goodness they care so much as Covid has prevented us from being able to do so much for our loved ones.
The activities are great fun and even my dad, who isn't interested in many things, will join in.

My mum moved into Oak Manor 2 months ago after her dementia got to a stage that she could no longer remain at home. It was such a worrying time but from the first phone call through to mum’s first day there, the staff were fantastic and I knew straight away that she was in good hands. It is such a lovely place and the staff are caring and friendly. I have visited mum several times and it’s clear to see she is very well looked after. I love seeing the photos of their activities too. It’s a wonderful care home.

Mum has been resident for several years at Oak Manor after a disappointing stay at another care home in Bedford. Above all the team at Oak Manor are caring. Mum isn't always easy and over the last few months of lockdown, it has been clear how hard they work. Her dementia has progressed substantially during the years she has been in the home. The home has made the best out of what has been a very tough time and it has been nice to see entertainers and visitors done in a socially distanced way. The home is well-appointed with new large bedrooms with garden views. A useful coffee area and reception and enough parking. The home is owned by MHA and I feel that they are battling for care homes when it comes to things like testing and standing up to some of the unfair treatment that care homes have received. My only gripe is that living a long way away, my particular needs are not always catered for - I can't just pop in and topping up the pocket money can't be done electronically.

Mum went into Oak Manor in May having been cared for at home but suffering from Dementia for 3 years. I can honestly say, as a family, that since she has been at Oak Manor we have seen an immense progression in her everyday wellbeing. We are lucky that she has happy dementia and the fun side of her is shining again. She is interacting with other residents, she is involved in singing, karaoke, bowling just a few of the activities offered by the fantastic staff. I honestly feel that we have no worries about Mum's care and attendance. She always appears happy, she looks well, and loves the food. The staff are extremely accommodating, nothing is too much trouble. Communication from the team is second to none. Mum went in during the height of Coronavirus and we had no concerns on how the home was dealing with a very difficult time. My dad contacts my mum twice a day by phone and it is never a problem. Well done and sincere thanks to you all. Couldn't wish for a better home from home.

Thank you to all staff at Oak Manor for caring for my mother. Dementia is not an easy illness, but I was impressed that they continued to assess new measures to help her as the disease progressed. During the first deep lockdown due to covid, we stayed away as everyone was scared about contracting or spreading the disease. Staff facilitated phone calls and video calls to keep families in touch with their relatives inside the care home. As the situation prevailed and it became apparent that things were not going to blow over quickly, again the staff were proactive, this time about finding a way for visitors to meet their loved ones, either by appointment in controlled areas outside the building or by providing access with full PPE to enable visitors to see their 'end of life' relatives in their rooms. For this, I am very grateful. I wish them well with adapting to the colder weather now approaching and trust they will find a way forward to keep families in touch with their loved ones.

Mum has now resided at Oak Manor for nearly two years. In this time Mum has received the highest level of care from all of the fantastic team. The team is professional, kind, thoughtful and caring, there is always well-planned activities and everyone is made to feel welcome and included. We as a family can not recommend Oak Manor highly enough, the manager and all of her team are outstanding especially in this current climate when they are experiencing difficult times. Mum is very happy at Oak Manor which in turn for us all as a family means the world.

Very friendly staff who go over and beyond when it comes to keeping their residents happy and safe. They have thought of so many ways to keep their residents in touch with their families during the pandemic, including videocalls, videos of everyone so their relatives could see they are well. They are a great team and proud to be part of it.

I would like to thank the wonderful staff at Oak Manor for the high levels of professional care and consideration they show to all residents, nothing is too much trouble and the care and support my dad receives is outstanding. In the current difficult situation when relatives are not allowed to visit care homes, I have total confidence in the way the home is managed and know that everyone is working hard to ensure the safety of residents is a priority. More than ever, balancing this with meeting the varied needs of residents, keeping everyone happy and in their daily routines takes a lot of skill and dedication. Thank you again for everything you do for the residents of Oak Manor and the reassurance you give relatives who know their loved ones are safe, happy and well cared for.

We moved our dear mum to Oak Manor in 2018. She had been in a previous care establishment but her needs were gradually changing due to her illness. Mum has Alzheimer's disease and Oak Manor was able to provide the care and support she needed.
This home is purpose-built which provides outstanding facilities for all its residents. There is a unit specifically for residents who are suffering from Dementia which is on the ground level and has easy access to a lovely garden.
The home is lead by a fantastic management team that ensure that the home is run smoothly and efficiently, whilst ensuring that every resident is given individual care and support depending on their needs. All staff work well together and are a fantastic hardworking team that also helps and supports resident's families.

Over the last few months, there have been some fantastic changes that have benefited all residents. There are even more daily activities and events taking place and improvements inside and outside areas.

From the moment we visited this home as a potential option for my mother, we were impressed. The staff were welcoming and friendly, it was spotlessly clean and there was a real buzz of activity. The facilities are excellent and the programme of events and activities are brilliant. Since my mother has arrived, we have found the staff to be very caring and respectful. They create a very happy atmosphere, and my Mum has settled in very quickly. She has benefited from the socialisation and personal care that is provided. She says the food is excellent and she enjoys sharing her mealtimes with others again. The single most important benefit that Oak Manor has for my Mum, is that it is faithbased and she can access the services and chaplaincy that is available. We are extremely grateful that our Mum, Grandma and Great Grandma are safe and closer to us and this is especially important at this present time. A huge thank you to all the staff at Oak Manor.

A lovely care home, all of the staff are extremely welcoming and helpful. My mum has now been there since November 2018 and settled almost immediately. The home is very modern and always clean, especially her room. There are many activities if anyone wishes to join in. Overall, it is of great comfort that when I leave Mum, I have no worries. At the present time, with no visiting due to the coronavirus, we are able to keep updated with videos through social media which is a great help. All of the team under the circumstances are brilliant and well-led by the manager.
