Mum has been resident for several years at Oak Manor after a disappointing stay at another care home in Bedford. Above all the team at Oak Manor are caring. Mum isn't always easy and over the last few months of lockdown, it has been clear how hard they work. Her dementia has progressed substantially
during the years she has been in the home. The home has made the best out of what has been a very tough time and it has been nice to see entertainers and visitors done in a socially distanced way. The home is well-appointed with new large bedrooms with garden views. A useful coffee area and reception and enough parking. The home is owned by MHA and I feel that they are battling for care homes when it comes to things like testing and standing up to some of the unfair treatment that care homes have received. My only gripe is that living a long way away, my particular needs are not always catered for - I can't just pop in and topping up the pocket money can't be done electronically.

Mum went into Oak Manor in May having been cared for at home but suffering from Dementia for 3 years. I can honestly say, as a family, that since she has been at Oak Manor we have seen an immense progression in her everyday wellbeing. We are lucky that she has happy dementia and the fun side of her
is shining again. She is interacting with other residents, she is involved in singing, karaoke, bowling just a few of the activities offered by the fantastic staff. I honestly feel that we have no worries about Mum's care and attendance. She always appears happy, she looks well, and loves the food. The staff are extremely accommodating, nothing is too much trouble. Communication from the team is second to none. Mum went in during the height of Coronavirus and we had no concerns on how the home was dealing with a very difficult time. My dad contacts my mum twice a day by phone and it is never a problem. Well done and sincere thanks to you all. Couldn't wish for a better home from home.

Thank you to all staff at Oak Manor for caring for my mother. Dementia is not an easy illness, but I was impressed that they continued to assess new measures to help her as the disease progressed. During the first deep lockdown due to covid, we stayed away as everyone was scared about contracting or
spreading the disease. Staff facilitated phone calls and video calls to keep families in touch with their relatives inside the care home. As the situation prevailed and it became apparent that things were not going to blow over quickly, again the staff were proactive, this time about finding a way for visitors to meet their loved ones, either by appointment in controlled areas outside the building or by providing access with full PPE to enable visitors to see their 'end of life' relatives in their rooms. For this, I am very grateful. I wish them well with adapting to the colder weather now approaching and trust they will find a way forward to keep families in touch with their loved ones.

Mum has now resided at Oak Manor for nearly two years. In this time Mum has received the highest level of care from all of the fantastic team. We moved our dear mum to Oak Manor in 2018. She had been in a previous care establishment but her needs were gradually changing due to her illness. Mum has Alzheimer's disease and Oak Manor was able to provide the care and support she needed.
This home is purpose-built which provides outstanding
facilities for all its residents. There is a unit specifically for residents who are suffering from Dementia which is on the ground level and has easy access to a lovely garden.
The home is lead by a fantastic management team that ensure that the home is run smoothly and efficiently, whilst ensuring that every resident is given individual care and support depending on their needs. All staff work well together and are a fantastic hardworking team that also helps and supports resident's families.
Over the last few months, there have been some fantastic changes that have benefited all residents. There are even more daily activities and events taking place and improvements inside and outside areas.

From the moment we visited this home as a potential option for my mother, we were impressed. The staff were welcoming and friendly, it was spotlessly clean and there was a real buzz of activity. The facilities are excellent and the programme of events and activities are brilliant. Since my mother has
arrived, we have found the staff to be very caring and respectful. They create a very happy atmosphere, and my Mum has settled in very quickly. She has benefited from the socialisation and personal care that is provided. She says the food is excellent and she enjoys sharing her mealtimes with others again. The single most important benefit that Oak Manor has for my Mum, is that it is faithbased and she can access the services and chaplaincy that is available. We are extremely grateful that our Mum, Grandma and Great Grandma are safe and closer to us and this is especially important at this present time. A huge thank you to all the staff at Oak Manor.

A lovely care home, all of the staff are extremely welcoming and helpful. My mum has now been there since November 2018 and settled almost immediately. The home is very modern and always clean, especially her room. There are many activities if anyone wishes to join in. Overall, it is of great comfort
that when I leave Mum, I have no worries. At the present time, with no visiting due to the coronavirus, we are able to keep updated with videos through social media which is a great help. All of the team under the circumstances are brilliant and well-led by the manager.

My mother has been a resident for nearly 18-months. It was a big decision moving her from South Wales to be closer to us. It was the right decision. Oak Manor has proved to be a great place. My mum was moved to this complex when it opened and I have nothing but high praise for its staff and facilities. Mum is now 90 and we had a lovely get together with all the residents and family, she has never been happier and as I live on the other side of Bradford/Leeds, this is a comfort to me as
I have now retired and find the travel harder. Her granddaughter lives nearby and can visit much more than I can.
Every time I arrive, I am always greeted with a smile and offers of tea from the staff, they are so dedicated to caring it's nice to see.
Mum always has something to occupy herself and if she wishes, can just rest in her room.
The last visit it was the music room and loved it, she also enjoys sewing and crafts.

In July of this year, I applied to be a volunteer and was accepted. I live close by and am a pensioner. I love visiting at least once a week and hopefully to build up to more. I have enjoyed my visits and have come to know the residents and staff (and they me). My previous work has included working

The first time I stepped into Oak Manor I was taken aback, bright (real) flowers in the entrance hall, staff were very welcoming, clients bedrooms amazing, dining room lovely, table setting lovely. I said to a member of staff, it's like a hotel. My neighbour is happy, with staff being so pleasant the
