My husband and I went on a much needed holiday so we needed respite care home for my mum.
With research, Rectory Court came up. We got in touch, came to visit and from the word go, we didn't look back. Mum had a lovely stay t Rectory Court. She was well looked after, she thoroughly enjoyed her 2-week
stay.
We couldn't have chosen better respite care for mum. Very happy.

My mother was frightened of living alone once my father was admitted to hospital.
She needed respite care.
From the moment she entered Rectory Court she was treated with dignity and respect.
The staff were amazing and made her feel welcome immediately.
During her stay in luxurious surroundings,
she made a friend and took part in lots of activities.
Watching her grow in confidence was worth every penny.
I saw her shine for the first time in many months.

As her daughter, it’s a great comfort to me, knowing she is in such safe and capable hands.

This was the second time that my nephew had stayed at Rectory Court for respite care. Throughout, he was given an exemplary care in difficult circumstances as (following a stroke) he had almost no cognitive abilities. But he really enjoyed the excellent food!! Unfortunately, he collapsed and died suddenly
one night during his stay. Everything possible was done to help both him and us. Thank you for your kind and lovely care.

My mother was extremely well looked after. The home is more like a hotel than an institutional home and the residents are treated like people. The staff take the trouble to find out the interests of the residents and try to build a variety of activities around their interests. They even organised some
members of a bridge club to come for an afternoon to play bridge, knowing that one one of my mother's real interests, even though she was only in for 12 days respite care while I went away. Mealtimes are sociable with residents going down to the dining rooms to eat, this is a good opportunity for residents to get to know each other.

My mother is not yet frail enough to need to be in a home but she enjoyed her time there and said that she would happily go again if I wanted to go away on holiday. This takes a tremendous weight off my shoulders. Thank you to all the staff for being so friendly, welcoming and making her feel part of the community.

Mum went for respite care and we were both a bit uncertain about what to expect. However, all our worries were completely unnecessary as all the staff and management are absolutely amazing. Care is second to none. Food is delicious and nutritious. Mum was only booked in for a short stay but when I went
to collect her she wanted to stay longer. Management were very accommodating and Mum stayed for an extra week. All in all, the best move we have made as a family as Mum is very happy and safe and we are able to have a break.

My Dad (91 and recently bereaved) had had a couple of falls and had been in hospital for several months; becoming institutionalised, self-centred, grumpy - he'd lost his mojo.
Since going to Rectory Court he has been quietly encouraged to come out of his shell and to engage with the other residents,
not least at mealtimes and in the activities laid on such as in-chair keep fit and sing-alongs.
There are regular resident and friends get-togethers in which all are encouraged to give feedback to the management who, incidentally, are very visible and active on the "shop-floor" and not confined to an ivory tower.
The staffing level is high and there is a good-humoured atmosphere whilst maintaining a solid foundation of professionalism.
I am confident that this image is not just cranked up when visitors turn up as I often arrive unannounced and the ambience is constant.
In conclusion, I am comforted, relieved and confident that my Dad is in the right place.

From the first look at the brochure, meeting the managers, then visiting Rectory Court, I was instantly charmed by the warm welcome and beautiful décor and furnishings in my potential new home. It didn't take very long to realise I would be very happy, comfortable and safe in these surroundings.
I
am so well cared for, I enjoy delicious, freshly cooked food every day with a varied menu. Fun activities and rest when I want to in my beautiful room. I've made new friends and feel relaxed and confident that I am being cared for by a professional team of managers and carers with a friendly and personal approach.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.852)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.852) out of 10 for Rectory Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 18 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 18 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.902 for Rectory Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (195 Excellents x 5) + (19 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 215 Ratings = 4.902
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.95 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Rectory Court Care Home is based on 18 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.95
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 41 registered maximum number of service users is 8.2, which has been reached with 18 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
