Riverside Place is situated on the banks of the River Lea in walking distance to Ware town centre, the home provides quality residential, nursing and dementia care on a permanent and short stay basis. They love learning as much as they can about the people they care for, so your loved one’s time and care is person-centred and tailored to their individual needs, interests and preferences.

There are many different enticing spaces to relax in – from the bistro and cinema on the ground floor, the quiet lounges dotted around the home to the rooftop orangery with balconies overlooking the river. The home understands that residents like to continue to look and feel their best, so the hair salon is open regularly for beauty treatments and pamper sessions.

Mealtimes are an important part of daily life and they know eating well and the social experience of dining are key to health and wellbeing. The home's chefs select a different menu each day, creating lots of home-cooked dishes with fresh ingredients to choose from. Using their in-depth knowledge of nutrition, they cater for any special diets and needs.

Each of the bedrooms at Riverside Place is beautifully furnished and have ensuite facilities and residents are also welcome to decorate it with their own treasured items, pictures and pieces of furniture if they wish.

Dementia training equips staff with the knowledge to highlight the importance of meaningful activities and a stimulating environment for people living with dementia whilst always addressing clinical care needs.

My aunt has Alzheimer's and the purpose of her stay was to have respite care and see how she got on. My aunt was very satisfied with her stay. She said that she couldn't fault anything. There were a good range of activities including mental and physical exercises. The food was good and the home was
very accommodating. When I wanted to take my aunt out into town, the home was willing to keep her lunch hot for her. The cleanliness was good and the staff were helpful and very friendly.

Mum only arrived two days ago, but so far, everything is brilliant. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff they are all polite and careful. Mum seems comfortable, and my whole family are pleased she is in your care, especially as it's her end of life.

I arrived at Riverside Place by ambulance from hospital and was given a warm welcome by the staff. During the next three weeks, I was encouraged to eat as much as possible as I had lost a lot of weight. The meals were good and I was just asked to eat what I fancied. All the office staff made my daughters
and grandchildren very welcome and always offered refreshments. My room was lovely, opening onto the garden and always kept clean. My washing also was done regularly. There were also regular activities to choose from.

This is an excellent care home. I entered here unable to walk without a zimmer frame and feeling very weak having stage 4 cancer. I can now walk without aid and feel really strong and able to go home and continue my treatment. The staff here from the management to the cleaners are all so helpful, cheerful
and kind. My room and ensuite bathroom are really perfect and cleaned every day. I recommend it highly.

When my mother had a series of falls recently, she needed urgent respite care. The manager at Riverside really helped us to accommodate my mother and make her feel very welcome. A great warm and friendly place.

Since my husband arrived he has been well looked after by caring, kind staff. I can see that the staff are happy to look after all the residents with much respect and understanding. The accommodation is very clean and has a feel of home about it.

We moved my mother from another home when we were unhappy with the care. Riverside Place is a much more loving environment. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The home is beautifully designed and decorated. That has made a big difference to us. The garden is great too.

Since discharge from hospital following a serious stroke the care package the home implemented was done efficiently and in a timely fashion. My mother was received in a smooth handover and the assessment completed as to the detail. The home is clean and the rooms are conducive to a relaxing and peace

The staff at the care home are excellent, they really give my 91-year-old mum reassurance and friendship. They helped her settle in when she stayed after a respite stay in January and my 90-year-old dad feels very welcome during his visits with Mum. There is an excellent range of activities to keep
Mum entertained. You might think you were in a lovely hotel, on entering the reception and Bistro. The gardens are well designed and maintained, a lovely area for a stroll.

My dad thoroughly enjoyed his respite stay at Riverside Place. He was extremely well looked after and cared for and was made to feel very welcomed. Everyone took time to sit and chat with him and listen to his stories. I felt very relieved to go away knowing that he was being so well cared for.

I can not praise Riverside Place enough for how they have looked after my mum, they helped me get her out of hospital (where she had been for 8 weeks) nothing was to much trouble, they have taken care of her how I would. They have healed an ulcer that she had had for over 1 year they have given her
food that has got her eating again her room is a proper bedroom not a hospital ward.
I can’t thank all the staff enough they have given our family our mum back when we were on the edge of loosing her

Dad moved into Riverside Place in December 2019. From the outset all the staff have been extremely kind and friendly towards him, always greeting him by name. They have helped him integrate with other residents, but have also taken a softly, softly approach, letting him settle in in his own time and
find his feet.
I am most impressed by how approachable all the staff are, from the top down, and how willing they are to solve any issues for Dad. The Head of Care has been very helpful and pro-active with Dad's medical needs and Dad's key worker is extremely patient and caring. I can see how comfortable Dad is with him, which is such a relief to know that he is being well looked after. Thank you.

We moved my mother here, having been very unhappy with our experience at the first care home we had used. I cannot praise Riverside Place highly enough. The management is superb. Carers are always friendly and helpful and feel motivated and happy in their roles. The atmosphere is excellent. The two
activities co-ordinators are cheerful and have encouraged my mother to participate. The regular visits by hairdresser and beautician work well.
The place has been beautifully designed (it already won an award) and the sunlight and space make an enormous difference to my mother's quality of life. She eats well too.
As Riverside Place is quite new, it is not yet full. Fingers crossed the standards remain as high once all the residents it's designed for are in place.
