The thing that impresses me the most is the activities and entertainment that is provided most days. The thought that goes into these days is beautiful and works on all sorts of levels. Most of all is the smiles it put on most of the resident's faces.

It's a beautiful and extremely welcoming care home. I originally never thought I would want my grandmother to go to a care home, and had visited others and they had always been very dark and depressing, and felt very clinical and not at all somewhere I would want to stay! This is totally different; there are beautiful communal spaces, with additional themed areas such as the tea room, cinema, pub, as well as areas in each corridor which have all been well thought out. The staff are incredibly friendly and great fun, and there are a continuous range of activities across the week for the residents - from planting in the garden, indoor bowls, crafts, and more. It's actually a pleasure to come and visit, and I feel very confident my grandmother is looked after and well loved here.

The staff are absolutely fantastic, nothing is too much trouble. They are extremely friendly and take the time to get to know the people they care for. I have been very impressed. Moving to a care home was a big change for my Gran and they have helped to support her with this transition.

Brilliant place. If I could live here myself I would...not old enough yet! What a place. Every whim and wish is cared for. There is a cinema, pub, spa room, play area for kids of all ages, that includes me. They have boggle! what can I say. A wonderful place with very attentive staff. Food I understand is also very good! One thing they need is a Piano! There are events that go on all the time. Just need to join in. Rooms are very good, and the whole place is decorated very tastefully.

I would say even better than a first class hotel! Oh and there is a small gym too.

Putting my mother in a care home was always a last resort as other care homes I had visited seemed depressing places where the residents were just waiting to die. However, when I went to Oakview Lodge, expecting it to be like that, I found somewhere that was the opposite - bright, cheerful, happy, clean with wonderful facilities. I was completely blown away and felt it was definitely a place I would be happy for my mother to live in. Since she moved in nearly two weeks ago, I have not been disappointed. She can have a glass of wine with her meals (something she always enjoyed), have her hair done, watch the TV in the comfortable lounge, whilst being served cups of tea and delicious cakes (also available to visitors!). There are activities for those who wish to participate and when the weather was warm last week, my mother was able to go out in the garden and have ice cream and sherry! The staff are lovely and caring - if anyone looks a bit sad or lonely they are soon cheered up.

Oakview Lodge is not at all what I expected from a care home. We had always said that there was no way my grandmother would go into a home, but this place is amazing. It's beautiful, everything is new, it's more like a luxury hotel! Lounges with smart modern furniture, dining tables with crisp white tablecloths and polished silverware, and so many facilities - hair and nail salon, cinema, pub, massage spa, family games room, tea room... it's wonderful! There are lots of thoughtful details, like old photos of the local area on the walls etc.
The staff have been very accommodating to my grandmother's needs and preferences, to make her feel as comfortable and "at home" as possible. I have visited several times since she moved in last week and everyone is always friendly and welcoming.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anyone considering a care home for their loved one.
