All the staff at Abbeydale Court have been so helpful in the transition of our dad going into care. They are so caring and nothing is too much trouble.
My dad wasn't in a good way when he arrived (from the US) and within a week he was out of his chair and walking around, sitting up and feeding himself.
His condition is challenging yet the staff all understand the struggles he is having and support him with compassion and respect!
The food is fabulous and I can't praise the chef and team enough also. Healthy and balanced meals daily!
Staff at Abbeydale have really made an effort to make our family welcome when we visit our dad, especially the little kids! They loved going to Abbeydale cinema and coffee shop.
We no longer have sleepless nights worrying about my dad now as we know he's getting the best care possible.

Thanks Abbeydale Court!

She was discharged from hospital to Abbey Dale Court to allow her time to recover from a pelvic operation. She has enjoyed her stay, the nurses are friendly & helpful. All very understanding. My daughter was given a big birthday party, cake, balloons etc. A musical party enjoyed by us & residents. The chef & team cater for her eating, meals etc again a major consideration & birthday cake etc. There is adequate entertainment. In her case, physio was scarce. We used NHS & private physios for exercise & walking facilities.

My mother has now been at Abbey Dale Court since Oct 2024. Her care has been excellent and the Team from the business management Team to all of the Team on Castle Unit well done. I chat with mum from Canada every Sunday and Wednesday, My mum continues to give high praises to the care and attention she is receiving, given some issues with her legs. I believe this is now my 3rd review and will continue to do so to ensure the high standard of care = higher ratings. I am very fortunate being so far away that there is in my view a very good communication process. From the Leadership Team keep posting what you do pictures tell many a story and mum is very fortunate to be part of Abbey Dale Court.

One can only expect the care as we age to be the best it can be given to everyone in different circumstances, I will again say while I was over in Hamilton last year-the level of care was first class. All Teams no matter what floor and Leadership makes this caring/professional.

Staff are excellent they are kind caring and we're genuinely concerned for my mum when she has not been great recently
This is not only the carers and nurses but the activity staff, catering staff, cleaners. Maintenance staff and laundry staff they have all popped in to see mum and ask how she was feeling, that is the caring environment she is living in and we appreciate that as a family

The nursing staff are always making sure she is ok and informing family if needed. Can't praise them all enough Thank You

My mum resided at Abbey Dale Court for 3-4 months in total, from August until October 24. Great care & attention was paid to mum with establishing her care plan making it unique & personalised at every stage. Mum very quickly settled in with the support of a great team within the Castle St unit, when mum required assistance from the medical practice supporting the home this was quickly acted on & actioned.
Mum had to be admitted to hospital & wonderful care was taken to ensure every support was given throughout. Unfortunately mum was unable to return to Abbey Dale & passed away.
I am extremely grateful for the dedicated care & attention given to mum throughout, the home has a great dedicated team who all pull together to create a welcoming, warm, happy & caring environment.

Can't thank everyone enough.

The home is lovely, clean, and well-furnished.
Communication does not flow well between shifts. This needs to be addressed.
If a lot of staff turnover does not help communication. My Father is good although laundry is an issue sometimes.

Overall I am very happy with Abbey Dale Court and appreciate the weekly updates from the manager.

Overall I would like to say a big thank you to the housekeeping staff, the kitchen staff for always making sure Mum has something to suit her dietary requirements as she is very fussy, also to one member of staff in particular who has time for Mum and all the residents he is such a kind person and all the caring and nursing staff who go above and beyond every day. It takes an entire team to run this place so all must be thanked.

Really pleased with the level of care my mum received was very well looked after, meals were well prepared and nothing was a bother to any of the staff within the care home, one member of staff in particular was absolutely amazing so compassionate and on top of everything relating to my mum's health issues and she had a few. She is an absolute angel and an asset to the care home.

My mother was admitted to Abbey Dale Court with an expectation of three to four weeks of palliative "end-of-life" care required. That was 40 months ago.
The level of care and affection she has been given throughout difficult and challenging times for the home i.e. (pandemic, staff retention issues and care commission reviews)y has been simply excellent.

As relatives who visit almost daily, we are impressed with the level of support, and personal care she receives daily. She may be frial, blind, immobile and with dementia, but has the capacity to know she is being treated with kindness.

To date, in the main, my dad has had a very positive experience in Abbey Dale Court. Initial assessment had indicated the need for him to reside on the 'dementia' floor where there was additional support. However, as he settled, his distress at the increased noise levels and movements of other residents was noted by staff and they agreed with the family's suggestion that he be moved to another area. This has been achieved and he is more settled and well cared for.

Initial concerns, regarding communication have somewhat been allayed. Staff know Dad well and show they care.

The home is of a very high standard. My brother has been a resident here now for over 1 year and is happy in a very safe environment. Staff are very caring and friendly and always give 100% effort to every aspect of his care and support not only to him as a resident but to all the family. During the year of my brother’s residence, there have been a lot of changes in the home which have been very positive and continue to improve. Any concerns raised or aspects of his care which we think could be improved on are actioned very quickly. There is a very strong and experienced management team in place bringing with them innovative ideas and care solutions to the home. Caring in this home comes from all employees from housekeeping, a fantastic chef and his team, an activities team encouraging residents to participate in activities and entertainment, dedicated carers and nurses. Each and everyone has a kind word for residents as they perform their duties.

Abbey Dale Court Care Home is a lovely warm and clean environment for both staff and residents.
Mum's care plan was recently reviewed and we as a family felt that our concerns were listened to and steps taken to update the plan.

The food is excellent and special occasions are celebrated in style. The activities team put a lot of effort into stimulating and engaging the residents.

My dad currently lives at Abbey Dale Court, he is content and happy in the home environment. He has the freedom to move around the home and has access to the lovely communal gardens at the rear of the home. The staff have always been amazing with my dad, always polite and very attentive to his needs. He is treated as an individual and always asked his opinion on matters that concern him. If there are ever any concerns these are always sorted out promptly by the staff who are all very approachable. The staff are more like friends and family members to my dad and us as a family. My dad is really fond of all of the staff although he definitely has a few favourites. I definitely have every faith in the staff and I am confident that he is well cared for.
