I cannot recommend Lauder Lodge in Edinburgh highly enough.
My dad moved in about 8 weeks ago and the environment, care, food, facilities and activities are superb. The home is beautifully decorated and laid out with a homely feeling. All the staff are professional, helpful, caring and genuinely seem to enjoy working there. Nothing is too much trouble and dad has settled in quickly.
The activities on offer are superb and he is learning new skills as well as keeping up old ones. The management, staff and organisation seem to have a forward thinking and proactive approach to caring for the elderly. This brings peace of mind to family and friends.

Well done Lauder Lodge and your hard work is appreciated!

Lauder Lodge is a beautiful new care home which my mum moved into when it opened in early December 2017. The rooms and facilities are of an excellent standard with wonderful friendly caring staff making the move for mum easy and welcoming.

Great food too!

Overall Experience
After much deliberation and careful thought, my friend decided to take the decision to move to Lauder Lodge. Best decision ever made and this has truly transformed her life.

This has got to be the future of care homes - everything is so different! The best words I could use to describe this way of living is the feeling of being in the most caring village possible. If you are in sociable mood, there is always a friendly face just waiting to be with you, share interests with, and accompany you to the wide variety of entertainment provided, or if you are in a quieter mood you can retreat to one of the many lounges, craft rooms, private cinema, reading rooms, dining rooms, cafe, outside seating areas or of course your own private quarters where you can relax and put your feet up. Your guests can join you whenever you want, friendly faces everywhere, just ready to help with anything, as nothing is too much trouble at all! Sincere thanks to all staff for giving my lovely friend her life back.

I’m a qualified nurse and have worked in a children’s clinic as well as in older people’s care. Joining Lauder Lodge has been very exciting for me: commissioning a new home is a challenge, and the whole team has worked closely together to create a wonderful home from home.

I’ve enjoyed getting to know the team in the process, identifying their strengths and using them to everyone’s advantage. I’m enjoying watching the team grow while providing exceptional service and tailored care for every resident.

I’m infamous for my sweet tooth, so I particularly enjoy afternoon tea time, when I can spend time with the residents, sharing stories and memories over a cup of tea and, of course, freshly baked goodies!

Outside of work, shopping is a guilty pleasure of mine, followed by coffee dates with friends – usually just an excuse to get the biggest cake on display!
