Overall Experience

Dad was at Bridge House receiving palliative care for four weeks after hospital discharge. The nursing floor had only just opened and there were about six residents at the time. The staff were very caring and attentive. They would chat with Dad, feed and give drinks when required and make sure his music was on. Most of the main meals were frozen ready meals but a lot of puddings were made in-house. The resident nurses were very good and soon got to know Dad.

There were a few teething problems, such as issues in re-ordering medications and unfortunately some agency nurses filling staffing gaps which can be unsettling for residents. He also received clothes back from the laundry which were not his. Bearing in mind this Company already have homes in North Yorkshire this was surprising.

The building is beautifully decorated, with a lot of facilities. The security was very good.

Overall, I would recommend the home and hopefully, the teething issues are just that and have been sorted out.

Overall Experience

My mother has been in Bridge House since the day it opened and the care and attention she is given is second to none. When she arrived she could not walk, now she is walking having her hair and nails done and having a laugh with staff and is a lot happier. I can only thank the staff and management for their expert care that makes my Mum's life happier, and also mine.

Enjoyed my stay. Staff easy to get along with and were very patient and kind. Enjoyed the food particularly the soup. The loung and dining area both beautifully furnished and lovely to sit in. Everything just right for me. Would happily go there again.

Overall Experience
My mother moved into Bridge House Care Home on April 9th. The changes in her were immediate and remarkable - she is much more alert; she is engaging with and responding to all those caring for her; she is engaging with her stimulating environment; she is able, with assistance, to stand and take a few steps. These are wonderful things for me to witness. My mother is very, very happy.
The owners, management and all care staff are committed to delivering high-quality care. It is clear that they have a vision of what care for the elderly should be and they are determined to deliver it. There is openness with relatives. I feel that I can talk to the staff about anything to do with my mother's care.
The activities organised are beneficial for the residents' well being. My mother enjoyed an outing last weekend with two other residents and carers. The fresh air and change of scene did all of us a power of good.

The home is beautiful, peaceful, yet stimulating. My mother loves her new room.

I'm the second generation of Fisher Care, my father having started the business in 1986. He instilled into me the importance of putting residents best interests at the heart of all of our decisions and I am very proud to carry his legacy forward - sharing his ethos of "excellence in care" with the team here at Bridge House.

We've created a welcoming environment and invite you to come and experience it for yourself.
