The team at Murrayside have been fantastic in supporting our mother and her family through the transition from a lengthy stay in hospital into the care home. The leadership team have gone out of their way to cope with challenges in making this transition. The team of carers have been excellent and we are happy and reassured that our mum is extremely well cared for and treated as an individual. The facilities at the home are outstanding including catering and the provision of activities and I would be happy to recommend Murrayside to others.

My father moved to Murrayside on 5th December. The staff have been friendly and attentive and have done a great job to help him settle in.
Dad is very happy. He has started chatting more and spends less time alone in his room than he did in his previous care home.

Thank you!

Murrayside is a very modern and well laid out care home. The staff made the transition into care for my father very easy. All staff are pleasant and welcoming and make time to have a chat with you. The home is clean and fresh with up to date fixtures and fittings. All facilities are excellent too. I'm confident my father is safe and secure in their care.

Overall Experience
Murrayside has gone out of its way to include the whole family in the care of our relative - aware that this has been a very stressful and emotional time for us all.
Our relative has been kept engaged and busy, learning and utilising her personal interests.
The premises are kept clean and bright, decorated subtly for Christmas (not too gaudy and noisy), food is nutritious and well presented, and the personal care is at just the right level.

So far, we have no complaints about Murrayside and hope that our sister will be happy and cared for here for many years.

This is a brand new purpose built facility which is good as it is fresh, clean and modern. The staff are excellent. Friendly, caring and interested. There is some settling in, snagging areas as it is a new team but confident this will settle down over time. Confident and reassured my mother is safe and being well looked after.

For the short time in which my grandfather was resident at Murrayside, I cannot talk highly enough of the facility or be thankful enough of the supportive friendly staff. I wouldn't think twice about recommending Murrayside to those considering care options for their loved ones - it really is first class.

Reply from Gillian Gray, Customer Relations Manager at Murrayside

Thank you so much for your lovely comments. It was a privilege for us to look after your grandfather for the short time before he was admitted to hospital.

Suzanne Welsh

I’m a qualified Registered General Nurse and I joined Care UK in 2015. I’d been working as an agency nurse prior to that but I felt it was time to find a permanent role and really settle into the adult care sector. I think as a home manager it’s important to know the residents and the colleagues in your team. They are central to delivering the best care, so ensuring they’re happy and content is all-important.

The best part of any day is the opportunity to chat with my team and our wonderful residents and their families. It’s important we feel like one big family at Murrayside, so spending time together is key to that. This is a fantastic care home and I’m exciting about leading the team to even greater things.

Away from my job I enjoy walking. I’m very into the Step Challenge and enjoy creating some healthy competition with colleagues, friends and family with that. I also enjoy socialising with friends and family whenever I can.

I moved sector and city when I joined the Murrayside team in 2020, I used to be the Trainee Manager of a five-star hotel in Aberdeen. When the pandemic started, I decided it was time for a change, and here I am.

I’m so grateful that I made the move into care, and came back to Edinburgh. I started out at Murrayside as a Receptionist/Administrator and I’ve worked my way up the ladder. It was a huge career highlight for me to be promoted into my current role as Customer Relations Manager at Murrayside.

I feel huge pride in being part of the Murrayside family. I love showing people around our amazing home, introducing them to the team, and showing them everything we have to offer. When I can, I enjoy chatting to residents and even getting involved in activities. I love seeing the residents making the most of each day.
