My dad became a resident of Newton House Care Home in November 2019. Dad had dementia (he passed away on 24/03/2021). Dad settled very quickly. Staff are friendly, the care home is spotless. The nurses are excellent and the rooms are immaculate. Dad was always clean-shaven and smartly dressed. When
Dad became very ill in mid-March, my brother and I were allowed to sit with Dad in his room. Nothing was too much trouble for staff we had tea, lunches and anything we needed. Dad was treated with so much dignity. We could not have chosen a better care home for our dad.

My mum has been a resident in Newton House for eighteen months now. Having a loved one in a care home during the pandemic has been very difficult but I have had no concerns at all about Mum's care. The care home kept families up to date and with Zoom family meetings. Now visiting Mum she is always clean,
smart and happy, I have nothing but praise for all the staff at Newton House.

I was so relieved when my husband went into Newton House after a month in the hospital. He had fallen at home and had a plate inserted in his hip. Because of that and his vascular dementia, he needed a lot of nursing care. He received a very warm welcome from the management and staff - as I did too.
(I think they also look after me - I always get that feeling when I go or make contact with them or they with me). He has received the highest level of care. When he presents them with a particular problem, they think of a way to solve it. I am so, so thankful. For example - the staff were very concerned about his tremendous restlessness during the night so they solved it. They have a lovely dining area and help him to eat if he needs help. They have a lot of activities of various kinds which is great.
There is also a lovely cafe and garden.
I certainly would recommend Newton House.

My father recently moved into Newton House and has quickly settled in. On arrival, the staff took a detailed care plan with all my dad’s needs, requirements, hobbies and special interests. This gave me peace of mind that they were listening and interested in him as a person, which put my mind at ease.
The staff are all very calm when dealing with the residents, helpful and professional. My dad likes a laugh and has a good sense of humour which the staff respond to. This is great as it helps with his mental health. I only have praise for the care he has received. We looked at many different care facilities (six in total) and whilst the staff in all of them seemed positive, the facilities available varied considerably. Newton was by far the best and this coupled with the “Homemaker” approach convinced us that this was the right place for my dad. We recently held an impromptu birthday party for him and the staff could not have been more helpful. Thanks to everyone concerned.

It has been a weight off the family's mind finding Newton House. The staff have been great and my dad has settled much quicker than we expected. He eats well, has put on the weight which he needed, he takes part in some activities when he feels like it and most importantly we know he is being cared
for well. It is also good that they hold regular relatives' meetings so that our general queries can be put forward in an open setting.

My Dad was a resident for a week for respite care and during this time, he was very well fed and attended to at all times. Newton House is a well run, spotless care home and the staff are amazing. I highly recommend Newton House and would be more than happy when the time comes for my Dad to become a

The staff are very supportive and the facilities are excellent. I was concerned about my aunt being at a residential care home for the first time and not sure what to expect. On arrival and during her stay we found that everything was going well and on her return, my aunt was very motivated by her time
with Hamberley Care and in great spirits.
This allows us to plan future respite and longer term care for her. Thank you to all the staff.

Anything I asked about was always answered.
Attention very good.
Was a bit lonely because the home just starting up (no-one's fault).
Appreciated a shower every morning.
Enjoyed the 'old-fashioned' food most - omelette, fish and chips, stew. The soup was good.
More fruit would be good.
Concerned
I had no personal alarm in case of fall.

My father has a rare form of dementia and complex needs. We were initially anxious about his move into long term care but Newton House went above and beyond to ensure that everything went smoothly. He has been treated with dignity, patience and understanding even in difficult circumstances. The staff
have taken the time to really get to know him well and are committed to providing care and support to the highest standard. The food is excellent and the home is well maintained.

My mother has been one of the first residents at Newton House. I have been in the fortunate position of getting to know the staff prior to the opening date and I cannot praise them enough for their genuine care, compassion and ensuring mum's needs are catered for 24hours a day.
Each and everyone
always has a smile, a laugh and time to chat and you actually feel part of an extended family. For the first time in a long while, mum feels relaxed and, more importantly, content. It is very hard for an older person to give up their home and everything they have known but I can categorically say we have made the best decision in choosing Newton House.

We looked at several homes before we came upon Newton House. Set in nice surroundings, bright and cheery decor and only newly opened, we liked the look and feel of the place. The cinema, pets and gardens are popular with my husband. After a walk around and speaking with some staff members we believed
they had the necessary skills to deal with my husband’s complex conditions. One week’s respite was booked and he has settled in very quickly and they are managing him very well. We can visit and telephone whenever we wish. I was very uneasy at first, but the staff have helped to allay my fears. They have read all his information provided by the family and taken the time to understand him and his condition. I have now extended his stay for a second week and booked for a further stay in the near future. I hope they can continue to provide their good service going forward and thank them all for their care and consideration.

Lara holds an MSc Adult Nursing and a diploma in Leadership, Management & Palliative Care. Working in healthcare since the age of 17, Lara has experience in oncology and haematology. Within hospices and care homes, she has worked as a Lead Nurse, Operations Manager and Home Manager. With a track record of improving quality and care within care homes, Lara is dedicated to the sector and creating outstanding environments for residents. Outside of work, Lara enjoys reading and cooking but her biggest love is animals - her menagerie includes five cats, two dogs, three ferrets and two giant African snails!

He grew up close to Glasgow and recently returned after 20 years of living and working in the South East of England. As your first port of call, you can rely on Thomas for support and logistical help as you embark on the journey of finding the right care. Providing support and an exceptional level of service is high on Thomas’ list of priorities, along with making time to get to know new residents and their loved ones. Outside of work, Thomas enjoys dog walks in the countryside and spending time with his family and friends, though the majority of his spare time is spent looking after his three horses, who have also relocated to Scotland with him.

My name is Amanda, and I am the Business Administrator at Newton House Care Home. My role involves managing finances, including payroll and fees for the care home, as well as offering support to our relatives and team members. I have worked in the care sector for over 11 years and during that time, have worked to achieve an Honours and Master’s degrees in Psychology. I started as a care assistant and an activities coordinator before moving on to administration, which I feel has helped me to develop a deep understanding of working in care, as well as a firsthand understanding of the daily challenges and rewards of caring for others. I am a bit of a geek and love to continuously learn. My biggest hobby is reading, I read a lot in my spare time, and I always have a book with me everywhere I go. I am married and we recently eloped to Australia to get married in the woods. We have three daughters, who I enjoy spending time with, and try to value time with my family. I also enjoy going on walks with our beautiful chocolate labrador, Coco, although she likes to get covered in mud.
