Opened November 2018, Lighthouse Lodge is the ideal home setting with panoramic views of the Mersey and welcoming team of care professionals.

They provide a range of care services including residential, residential dementia and nursing care.

The Lodge prides itself on the high service standards provided. Lighthouse Lodge's care services have been developed to offer a progressive experience that allows residents to enhance their current lifestyle or even reclaim previous independence.

Lighthouse Lodge has been specially designed to improve residents’ quality of life, through mobility and experience.

Lighthouse Lodge has a range of facilities including comfortable lounges, a health & beauty salon, beautiful gardens and even a roof-top terrace with views over the Mersey. Friends and family are welcome at any time and there is a kitchenette available for all residents and visitors to make teas and coffees!

Lighthouse Lodge understands the importance of a well-balanced and nutritious diet and therefore, a carefully selected team produces home-cooked meals onsite daily. Crafted with care and attention, the menu incorporates resident’s preferences and cultural or dietary requirements.

Friends & family can join residents' for meals if there have been prior arrangements.

Their very own in-house lifestyle and wellbeing team organise daily schedules filled with activities and outings. There is never a dull moment and the team are dedicated to making their residents’ home a happy, vibrant and fun place to live! There is always something fun going on around every corner.

Visiting

  • Lighthouse Lodge offers a warm welcome to all relatives visiting their loved ones.


    If advance notice is given, visitors are welcome to use the facilities. Friends and family would like to join their loved ones in the spacious dining room for a meal, or even enjoy a light bite in one of the tea rooms.

    In order to dedicate the time to provide an initial look around, the Lodge requests that viewings are organised in advance; So to ensure staff members are available.

My auntie has been living here for eighteen months. Every time I visit she always comments on how nice and kind the staff are. Sadly she doesn't participate in any of the activities despite the staff encouragement, but she is well cared for and safe.

It was my dad's birthday, the staff went above and beyond to make it special for him. They held a party for him, gave him a cake, there were gifts, and one of the staff bought him a balloon. It's these things that make the Lighthouse Lodge a very special place. All the staff take the time to learn about
the residents and develop positive bonds with them.
I have total confidence in the care provided by the Lighthouse Lodge.
I can't recommend them enough.

We love celebrating birthdays at Lighthouse Lodge! Our chef makes a cake, we have a party and make the day enjoyable and special. The staff see the same residents each day and they do develop positive bonds and become part of the family at Lighthouse Lodge. I was so worried about mum going into a home, but it’s such a comfortable, cheerful and safe place.
The thing I appreciate most is the real genuine care that all the staff give. Nothing is too much trouble for anyone, any queries are dealt with promptly and professionally.
I really feel that all the
staff are like family members to mum and my family too.

We understand it can be a worrying time when a family member moves into a Care Home. We do everything we can to assist the family and we provide a warm welcome when their relative joins us. Our sister, who has young onset dementia, has lived at Lighthouse Lodge for over a year now. It is such a relief to us that she is safe. She is well cared for, entertained, given dignity, and she hasn't smiled so much for years. All of this is down to the staff. Individually, and as a team, they are

My mother-in-law has been in Lighthouse Lodge for the last 6-months. She passed away on Monday. I can not praise the home enough for their care before, during and after her passing. We spent a lot of time with her in recent weeks and saw 1st hand the care and attention the staff gave to her. Nothing
was too much bother for them. When we were not there, the staff would come and sit with her. They kept us informed every step of the way, and they were all very thoughtful in looking after us at a very difficult time. Two ladies were amazing in calling us back with any queries we had and prepared us before and after Mum passed. One member of staff was with us at the end, and she treated Mum with such compassion and was amazing with the family. We are so pleased we made the decision to leave Mum in their care when she started to deteriorate, as not only did it mean we could visit, but she could not have got that level of care in the hospital.

I am the husband of my wife, who after a hard choice, resides in Lighthouse Lodge.
What can I say?
The manager and the rest of the crew are on the same page, and they look after the residents in a way that seems to be perfect for the day to day running of the home.
No complaints and I know that not
just my wife and all the residents look really happy.

My mum has been living at Lighthouse Lodge since February 2021. She is well cared for, treated with dignity and kindness and loves the amazing views over across the river. Whilst it wasn't an easy decision to move Mum into care, the support that we've received from everyone at the home has reassured
me that it was the right thing to do.

My aunt is a resident at Lighthouse Lodge, and I can not speak highly enough of the care she receives.
The staff are caring, and the accommodation, lounge etc is excellent. Nothing is a bother, and all her physical and medical needs are met to the highest standards.

Residents are always put first in terms of care and well being. The manager is very hands-on and ensures that her staff are highly professional, sincere and demonstrate empathy at all times.


We had to remove my friend at short notice last December 2020 due to the bad performance of a previous care

home on the Wirral and Lighthouse stepped up to the brief and in fact, my friend's health and well being has improved 100%


In respect of activities and rooms, this cannot be totally recorded due to Covid, however, the photographs provided by the home in respect of the activities are exceptional.

Lighthouse Lodge fulfills all of my brother's needs. All his carers are very friendly and kind and he looks upon them as his friend and mates. I'm very happy that he is in a first class care home and so are all of his family.

Good facilities and food. However, teeth are not always cleaned. Hair is often not brushed. At times mother was not dressed correctly so has been cold. Their communication to relatives is not great: I'm saying the same thing to staff repeatedly with them not following my requests. Clothes were lost
by laundry (no underwear or socks in her drawers) and mother wearing other residents' clothes which have another person's name in them. Natural to expect these things are attended to when paying almost £1000 per week.

I am sorry you feel communication is not great, this is very important to us at the Home and myself and staff can always be contacted by telephone or email. I hold monthly Zoom meetings with relatives and they can also speak to me or my Deputy Manager when visiting the Home; we run an open door policy. I always respond promptly to feedback and work with families regarding any issues raised to ensure they are rectified quickly and to their satisfaction. I and my staff strive to provide the best care possible to residents and I look forward to discussing your requests with you.

My mum made the difficult decision to move into permanent care in August 2020 and decided that The Lighthouse was the place for her after a previous respite stay.
I was understandably anxious as we were in the throws of lockdowns and isolation. I can say with absolute confidence that my mum could
not have been in better hands! She has been so well cared for and has had the absolute best experience in the past eighteen months. The staff have been incredible...I have been frequently moved to tears by the times they have gone way above and beyond their jobs to give such wonderful care to the residents. My mum says the team are like family and I feel so lucky to have her safe and happy in such a fabulous environment.

My dad had the most amazing care when he was in respite at Lighthouse Lodge.


We as a family were so upset having to put dad in care and were not sure of what to expect the staff were amazing they helped dad settle in but also helped us as a family. They were on hand to help with any questions or

concerns we may have.


The ground floor unit was safe to clean and gave dad the flexibility to either stay in his room or roam around. We as a family are so grateful to the team for the support and help they gave us throughout dad's stay and we would not hesitate to recommend them to anybody thinking of using them.

My dad was a resident for a temporary period and as a family, we couldn't have been more pleased with the care love, and respect shown to dad. We as a family also felt fully supported by all the staff.

I was very worried about my uncle and leaving him in the care of other people. My worries have been eased as every aspect of the Lodge is excellent. I don't know what more to say, only a 'big thank you to everybody'. Nothing ever seems too much trouble. Great team of people. 'Thank you again'.

As a Welfare carer, I required emergency respite care for a client I was caring for. I contacted several care homes and the response, caring nature and helpful attitude was the decision maker.
From the moment of admission, the care was outstanding the staff caring and kind, and a level of helpfulness
I actually forget existed.
I am a registered nurse and have very high standards when placing clients, I am delighted with not only the care but the progress made by the client.


Food superb and communication and feedback excellent. All staff were wonderful, I dealt with the manager, could not have been more helpful, and a senior carer who was outstanding in every way.
The staff are very well trained and I observed all patients being treated kindly and with dignity.
The home was spotlessly clean and the day rooms beautiful with a sea/river view.
In terms of value for money it was outstanding.


All who visited commented on what a lovely care home it was.

Our mum moved into Lighthouse Lodge in early August 2021, initially on a trial, then becoming permanent.
The purpose-built building is modern and bright. Mum’s room is comfortable with an en-suite bathroom and a wonderful view. The dining room is friendly with ample food and choice. The lounges are
inviting and comfortable.
But what really makes Lighthouse Lodge such a special place is its staff. From the first moment, we were blown away by the friendliness and the quality of care shown to mum by every member of staff. She was immediately made so welcome and at home.
We also feel very welcome and can visit any time, even bringing dogs! Mum celebrated her 92nd birthday recently. We organised a buffet in the lovely lounge to celebrate together - with sherry, of course! The staff could not do enough for us.
Mum loves conversation; meal-times are special as she chats with residents and staff
We feel so happy and reassured that mum is settled, comfortable, safe, and well-cared for.

Our 86 year old mum was not in the best of health after a short stay in hospital. The care and attention and friendliness of the Lighthouse Lodge staff - especially the third floor (Perch Rock) was second to none in helping our mum regain a level of health and independence. A heartfelt thanks to all.

As Home Manager, I am proud and privileged to work at Lighthouse Lodge and to have been given the opportunity to work in a career that I love. Having worked in care for 20 years, I have progressed within my role as a Home Manager by gaining qualifications to achieve The Registered Managers Award and Level 4 in Adult Social Care.


As well as gaining experience working with the elderly, including those living with Dementia, I have discovered a great passion for helping provide an excellent standard of care in all aspects of the care sector.


At Lighthouse Lodge, we offer a welcoming home with a range of high-quality amenities and activities. We like to make sure our residents’ opinions are voiced and heard, encouraging all staff and residents to bring new ideas for us to include in our programme of care to improve well-being and help build friendships to ensure you continue to live your life to the full.

Job Title: Lodge Service Advisor Joined: 2021

I am the Lodge Service Adviser for Athena Healthcare Group at Marine View Lodge and Lighthouse Lodge, Wirral. I provide families with information required when considering a care home for their relative. The first point of contact and advise enquirers about the different types of care we provide, our Lodge features and the process involved for a relative moving into our Care Homes.


Enjoy showing families around the Lodges and answering any questions they may have, I assist them right up to admission of their relative and am always on hand thereafter. I love meeting families, prospective residents and helping to make the move into our Care Homes the best experience it can be.


My role also involves building relationships in the community working with organisations, businesses, charities etc and providing information in relation to the care provided at Athena Healthcare.


I enjoy spending time with my family, and I love dogs. I enjoy walking my dog, Buddy.
