After a lot of heartache and research, we as a family decided it would be better and safer for our dad to go into Lighthouse Lodge as he needed 24-hour care and we couldn't look after him 24-7. We decided on Lighthouse Lodge as it was new, clean, and has plenty going on for the residents. After being in there for 27-months we now know we made the right decision for him, from reception to management, cleaners to entertainment staff, nothing is too much trouble. Everyone there is on hand to help. Dad is always clean and tidy when we visit and we can pop in at any time, Covid-19 allowing. The staff treat him like family and look after him as good as we would do if he was at home, his room is spotlessly clean and tidy, the food and treats are great and most weeks there's a party going, no excuse needed. If we can't visit with Covid-19 restrictions, we know we can phone up at any time to ask how he is and know that if he's not ok a doctor would be called out to check him over.

I consider this to be a very good care home. I am comfortable here and my room is well furnished. I have a good bathroom and everywhere is kept very clean. The staff are excellent but sometimes are very rushed if illness creates shortages. I have struggled with some of the food but I think it has improved recently.

My mum was a resident for sixteen months until she passed away. I chose Lighthouse Lodge without being able to visit due to covid. I formed my decision by reviewing and speaking to relatives of residents who all could not praise the care enough.
I was kept updated on all aspects of mum's care by the Unit Leads, they have direct access to the Doctors surgery, all medical issues were dealt with promptly.
I visited regularly without notice and she was always immaculate with her hair and makeup done. I enjoyed having lunch with her and the food was exceptional.
The facilities are kept spotlessly clean. Clothes are laundered and returned daily. Activities staff are amazing fun and bring so much joy with inventive engaging activities.

I stayed with mum as she entered the end of life, I saw the level of care she received which was professional, dignified, caring and loving. I believe Lighthouse to be the best care facility on the Wirral and I cannot thank the Manager and her team enough.

It was my dad's birthday, the staff went above and beyond to make it special for him. They held a party for him, gave him a cake, there were gifts, and one of the staff bought him a balloon. It's these things that make the Lighthouse Lodge a very special place. All the staff take the time to learn about the residents and develop positive bonds with them.
I have total confidence in the care provided by the Lighthouse Lodge.

I can't recommend them enough.

I was so worried about mum going into a home, but it’s such a comfortable, cheerful and safe place.

Our sister, who has young onset dementia, has lived at Lighthouse Lodge for over a year now. It is such a relief to us that she is safe. She is well cared for, entertained, given dignity, and she hasn't smiled so much for years. All of this is down to the staff. Individually, and as a team, they are heroes, and we are so grateful to each and every one. Thank you, the Facebook pictures are so valuable to us too.

My mother-in-law has been in Lighthouse Lodge for the last 6-months. She passed away on Monday. I can not praise the home enough for their care before, during and after her passing. We spent a lot of time with her in recent weeks and saw 1st hand the care and attention the staff gave to her. Nothing was too much bother for them. When we were not there, the staff would come and sit with her. They kept us informed every step of the way, and they were all very thoughtful in looking after us at a very difficult time. Two ladies were amazing in calling us back with any queries we had and prepared us before and after Mum passed. One member of staff was with us at the end, and she treated Mum with such compassion and was amazing with the family. We are so pleased we made the decision to leave Mum in their care when she started to deteriorate, as not only did it mean we could visit, but she could not have got that level of care in the hospital.

The manager and her team do an amazing job.

I am the husband of my wife, who after a hard choice, resides in Lighthouse Lodge.
What can I say?
The manager and the rest of the crew are on the same page, and they look after the residents in a way that seems to be perfect for the day to day running of the home.
No complaints and I know that not just my wife and all the residents look really happy.
Well done, guys.

From a happy Yorkshire man.

Residents are always put first in terms of care and well being. The manager is very hands-on and ensures that her staff are highly professional, sincere and demonstrate empathy at all times.

We had to remove my friend at short notice last December 2020 due to the bad performance of a previous care home on the Wirral and Lighthouse stepped up to the brief and in fact, my friend's health and well being has improved 100%

In respect of activities and rooms, this cannot be totally recorded due to Covid, however, the photographs provided by the home in respect of the activities are exceptional.

Good facilities and food. However, teeth are not always cleaned. Hair is often not brushed. At times mother was not dressed correctly so has been cold. Their communication to relatives is not great: I'm saying the same thing to staff repeatedly with them not following my requests. Clothes were lost by laundry (no underwear or socks in her drawers) and mother wearing other residents' clothes which have another person's name in them. Natural to expect these things are attended to when paying almost £1000 per week.

My mum made the difficult decision to move into permanent care in August 2020 and decided that The Lighthouse was the place for her after a previous respite stay.

I was understandably anxious as we were in the throws of lockdowns and isolation. I can say with absolute confidence that my mum could not have been in better hands! She has been so well cared for and has had the absolute best experience in the past eighteen months. The staff have been incredible...I have been frequently moved to tears by the times they have gone way above and beyond their jobs to give such wonderful care to the residents. My mum says the team are like family and I feel so lucky to have her safe and happy in such a fabulous environment.

My dad had the most amazing care when he was in respite at Lighthouse Lodge.

We as a family were so upset having to put dad in care and were not sure of what to expect the staff were amazing they helped dad settle in but also helped us as a family. They were on hand to help with any questions or concerns we may have.

The ground floor unit was safe to clean and gave dad the flexibility to either stay in his room or roam around. We as a family are so grateful to the team for the support and help they gave us throughout dad's stay and we would not hesitate to recommend them to anybody thinking of using them.
